Heading north from New Hangzhou, you will pass through the largest Dark Zone—Old Shanghai.

Speaking of this city, Malin’s records are of the night view of The Bund, the bustling temple fairs, tasty crab shell buns with sesa and peppermint creams, and those headache-inducing housing prices.

It is said that in the era before the Great Destruction, this massive city had turned the entire triangular area into a tropolis. Because of this, when Chaos arrived, too many innocents were transford and twisted, and the Union Army deployed all seven Thainan corps in the East Asia region to the battle of saving civilians, with the third and fifth corps responsible for Old Shanghai.

Within a three-day countdown, they rescued more than seven million civilians. In the most desperate battle at the end, they alongside the ard citizens who volunteered to stay behind called in a hydrogen bomb to directly strike the teleport channel that was opening. They succeeded, and the channel was closed.

To this day, the massive nuclear explosion point beneath sea level in the center of Old Shanghai is the city’s testant to resilience.

The third and fifth corps were removed from the Union army because of this battle, until the Union itself was forgotten. Now, in the outskirts of Old Shanghai, you can occasionally see those soldiers wandering around in tattered power armor.

Malin has seen those Lost Souls more than once—these deceased soldiers won’t attack humans; even today, they continue to slaughter all the Chaos and different kind.

When these Lost Souls see Malin, they first assu a defensive posture, perhaps due to Malin’s identity—Malin’s paternal bloodline originates from beyond the realm, which is hard for ordinary people to recognize (even now, many believe Malin’s paternal or maternal lineage is a Dostic Fairy, as when this race was created, except for height, their appearance was sowhat different.), but they can confirm Malin’s identity using the Soul Fire in their eye sockets.

However, no attack cos; they will promptly confirm Malin’s maternal appearance, and then leave in silence.

"These Lost Souls are the biggest guarantee in this Dark Zone, according to the Legendary who can dive. At the epicenter, even now those Lost Souls are still battling Chaos from the broken fissure."

The words filled Malin’s heart with respect—these are the greatest warriors on this planet, the most reassuring presence, even after so long, even though they have beco like this.

Of course, besides the Lost Souls, there are so stragglers in this area, mostly the Bleeding Ghosts, which is why the outskirts of this Dark Zone are surrounded by retired adventurers ford into squads. Most of them are injured adventurers, who after healing, received prosthetic replacents, then joined the patrol team of this area.

They are ard to the teeth; generally, a few Bleeding Ghosts can’t even get close to them.

The first ti Malin saw them, this patrol team of more than twenty people was taking parts off the Bleeding Ghosts in hopes of trading them for so money—the horns of a Bleeding Ghost can usually be exchanged for money from the military, and if in large quantities, even advancent potions can be obtained.

The presence of Malin and the Legendary cheered these middle-aged n up, and the burly leader ca over: "Hey, kid, are you and your girl here for fun? This is not a place for fun." Just as he said this, everyone turned their heads toward the east, and Malin saw a dozen Bleeding Ghosts climbing over from the other side of the small hill ruins.

Without a word, these n started to form a formation, setting off alarm flares, while the burly leader looked at the eager Malin and shouted: "Run! Take your girlfriend and run!"

"Why run?" Malin raised his eyebrow, the tip of his World Tree staff touching the ground.

"You think you!" The burly leader looked in disbelief at the granite statues crawling out of the earth on either side of Malin.

By the ti the granite statues pulled out stone clubs thicker than his whole body from the ground, the burly leader and his mates could only stand dumbfounded watching these giant statues move agilely like humans towards the Bleeding Ghosts.

Most of the Bleeding Ghosts charged towards these two statues, with three circling toward Malin.

The burly leader imdiately scread: "Kids! Run!" He shouted as he drew his sword to block the path of Malin and the three Bleeding Ghosts.

"Sorry, sir, you’re blocking my shooting line." Malin said, pushing him aside with the barrel of his handheld cannon.

Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, the 155-mm caliber handheld cannon roared with industrial fury, the armor-piercing bullet turning the upper half of a Bleeding Ghost into flying at shreds.

Malin held the cannon backward, and with just one hit, the other Bleeding Ghost that had rushed forward was directly struck, and everyone saw this Bleeding Ghost explode into chunks mid-air, flying away in a scattered spectacle.

Stabbing the barrel into the ground, Malin pulled the terrifying longsword from the Subspace, the authentic God Chosen Sword won massively in the face-off against the Bleeding Ghosts’ longsword, splitting this Bleeding Ghost into four segnts with sword and ghost in one stroke.

"My, this kid is strong." The burly leader exclaid while wiping sweat off his prematurely balding head, only to find horns breaking through the skin on his scalp.

"Boss! You’re mutated!" The scream from behind made the burly leader turn and see his n now appearing with monster-like characteristics, leaving him to wonder whether he should utter a curse word or not.
