After the events here were concluded, Malin made a point to et with Lagelof Tendel and Antoine. Antoine looked sowhat haggard; from Lagelof, Malin learned that Antoine’s only son died in battle at Swupsk. For this matter, Malin didn’t know how to comfort him.
After discussing Northernism and the country’s recent relations, Malin arranged their supplies for the upcoming year. The Northern Kingdom suffered too great a loss this ti, and Crown Prince Daniel’s position might be unstable. Whatever the council does, Malin doesn’t care — whether it’s to kick soone when they’re down or lend a helping hand, it doesn’t matter to Malin. With Malin’s temper, not killing all these useless ones is already taking into account the soldiers who want to repair the heavens.
As long as the people still have faith in this nation, Malin is not prepared to be the villain.
After eting with the two, Malin also t with old Hagelberry, leaving Lulu to follow Maya back to Regens, while Malin prepared to return to the East.
During this ti, he also t with Mowish’s King. The old man expressed that his wife would return in three days and, upon hearing Malin was here, specifically asked him to stay.
From Goethe’s expression, Malin noticed the curiosity on this middle-aged man’s face; perhaps he was curious about why his wife wanted to find Malin.
Thinking about it, Malin decided to stay here for another three days and sent the spiritual ssenger to pass a ssage to Sage Lin.
Sage Lin quickly replied, indicating no problem and ntioning he would arrive at the offshore tropolises near Guangzhou in two days. He would give Malin the coordinates then, allowing Malin to head straight there.
It’s said that across the sea is the largest Dark Zone of the entire Eastern human world, and to avoid this area, the Thanan are almost an entire province away from it.
Malin was certainly pleased with the arrival of new coordinates—previously, he was concerned if it was too far, whether he’d have to sail a small boat by himself to reach it.
Speaking of which, with a three-day break, Malin spent one day resting in each of three places; on the third day, he t with Matilda and Jessica.
Matilda’s child was a healthy boy, and every ti Malin held him, the little rascal always tried to bite Malin’s head, a naturally rebellious one indeed.
But Malin still liked him... after all, he was his and Matilda’s child.
As for Jessica’s child, surprisingly, it was a girl.
This almost made Jessica doubt who she had t, but with Malin’s comfort and earnest nonsense, Jessica thought this might be part of the parallel world theory—she previously t those children who said their ancestors were Jessica’s child.
Yet, they never said this child was a son.
After comforting her thus, Malin accompanied Matilda and Jessica to make a sumptuous dinner. Matilda and Jessica, as before, were very satisfied with the at feast.
As they went to sleep, the big-hearted wolf girl Jessica was the first to sleep; Matilda called Malin, looking at him with a very sad smile: "How should I address you, my lover."
"What foolishness are you talking about?" Malin asked with a smile.
"Neither Faye nor the others have felt the change in you; it’s not their fault. They aren’t Mages or Shamans, or else fools like Jessica. But I... I slled the divine scent on you, you broke through that wall, Malin, my lover, how much longer can I call you that."
"If possible, I’d say for a lifeti..." Malin reached out to embrace Matilda.
Indeed, Matilda was the one Malin worried about the most. The other girls did not have such high sensitivity, but Matilda was different; she was a devout believer, her perception of Deity far surpassing her sisters.
And the thing Malin worried about the most happened; Matilda slled the scent.
Not deceived by Malin’s flowery words, Matilda pouted, and the big-eared fox stubbornly clutched Malin’s hand.
"I don’t want you to leave . Becoming Deity might save the world, but what about us..." Matilda said rebellious words as she looked at Malin.
In Malin’s eyes, the fox’s spiritual glow was visibly fading.
"You’re losing faith, Matilda." Malin reached out to embrace Matilda: "Have you forgotten the honor of your family?"
"My family only has left; this surna can be passed to anyone, but I and my child only have you." Matilda reached out to touch Malin’s face: "I always hear Faye say, Malin will be the one to save this world. Our descendants all say they’ve forgotten you... Now, seeing it, you must have beco a Deity; only then would the future lose records of Deity and Evil God. You sacrificed everything to save the world. You’re a great hero, but what about us?"
"Matilda, if you had the ability to change all of this, to stop Chaos from touching this world, to prevent our children and descendants from losing blood due to the century cycle of Tide of the Dead, to keep our world and universe from being eroded by Chaos... what would you do?"
Matilda heard Malin’s question, first smiling, then laughing and crying.
Her spiritual glow rekindled and burned hotter than before.
