The Academy has finally completed its renovations, and more children have arrived. Although I have lost many children before, the arrival of their siblings brings so comfort.

Chusheng has completed the ritual to achieve Transcendence. His father invited to witness the ceremony, and this allowed to observe the inherent dangers of the ascension process up close... So this is how it is: in this world, humans have grown accustod to making sacrifices in order to resist Chaos and the different kinds.

I want to do sothing for these children. I cannot complete the ritual for Transcendence and am considered unworthy, but perhaps I can use scientific knowledge to help these children, calculating the training thods most suitable for each of them.

Everyone has a thod that is most suitable for them.

I should have a talk with Chusheng.

This diary fills Malin with deep respect. This Sage must have accomplished sothing extraordinary, and it is precisely because of this that history books note that over the past century, due to the dissemination of knowledge, the growth rate of high-level Sequence advancent among humans has increased by at least thirty percent.

That is indeed a terrifying fact.

With such thoughts in mind, Malin turned to another diary entry.

I did it. It’s incredible.

I, Raphael the Sage, enabled Chusheng to ascend another rung on the ladder of the Mage Sequence within just half a year. This is truly remarkable, as this child has limited aptitude. When the mbers of the Mage Tower ca to oversee his ascension, they initially determined that Chusheng had almost no chance of surpassing Sequence Five. According to their evaluation, it would take at least three years for him to safely use the potion needed for a single ascension.

But now, he has accomplished this with only half a year of effort, and he even completed the process from Mage Apprentice to a One-Ring Mage without consuming any Magic Potion. According to the Mage Tower’s records in this region, such speed exists only in the annals of those called prodigies.

Chusheng is overjoyed, for he has taken another step on the path toward the summit, doing so at a speed he had never dared to dream of. This progress has made the once-discouraged young man brim with joy and anticipation for his future.

His family is equally thrilled because their child, who had been sentenced to a punishnt of futility, achieved an ascension entirely on his own within half a year. Even if he ultimately cannot surmount the wall of Sequence Five, the fact that a Five-Ring Mage could reasonably ascend fully within ten years is already a speed reserved for geniuses.

Even my lord is delighted, for his third son has just completed his path of ascension. Though he is a Knight, word of Raphael the Sage’s boundless abilities has spread across this region of the East.

I cannot let the children down. Now, I must return to my work. In the upcoming period, I fear I will have no ti to write more in this diary.

I am determined to help everyone in this world who wishes to survive, freeing them from their current suffering.

May the Lord of Justice have rcy.

The diary ends here, followed by many blank pages. But for so reason, Malin’s alien father never used this diary again.

No matter the reason, Malin at least understands sothing about his father. Though he was an alien, he remained steadfast in his love for civilization.

How intriguing.

Malin carefully stows away the diary, then silently makes a vow.

I will do the sa, Father. I will help everyone in this world who wishes to survive. You did so because of your noble soul.

As for ... my reason is simple: I remain, above all, a human from Earth.

I am saving others, and in doing so, I am saving myself.
