Matilda had long gotten used to Malin’s transformations. The next morning, when she saw Malin’s hair had grown significantly, the big-tailed fox chuckled while combing his hair. With a dagger, she did so simple trimming and tied it into a neat little ponytail.
Finding clothes that fit herself, Malin took his Fox Girl downstairs and found Mr. ng.
After a good night’s rest, Mr. ng looked much better. When Malin entered, he saw the man was already sitting on the balcony, watching the morning sunrise.
"You look much better, Mr. ng." Malin walked into the room, and as he passed by ng Quyi, the young woman gave his cheek a light pinch.
Mr. ng glanced at Malin’s new appearance, then at his daughter’s playful action, and sighed helplessly: "Mr. Malin, what exactly is going on with you?"
"Bloodline awakening—paternal side." Malin said as he walked up to Mr. ng. "Today, my beloved and I plan to visit Sagarezao City. Round trip, it shouldn’t take more than two days."
As he spoke, he reached toward the fruit bowl. An apple floated up, shedding its skin mid-air, completing its transformation before gently landing in front of Mr. ng.
"I didn’t know Spiritual Energy could be used like this." Mr. ng accepted the apple, marveling as though he had just discovered a new continent.
Malin raised an eyebrow: "Whether it’s technology or Spiritual Energy, the most important thing is its ability to change human Fate. Take this city, for instance. The people who built it surely didn’t create sothing so massive just for appearances."
Sitting on the balcony railing, Malin looked at the approaching ng Quyi.
The latter glanced at Malin. "What are you staring at? I’ll be taking care of my father today."
"It’s okay, my daughter. You can join Mr. Malin to broaden your horizons," Mr. ng said, leaning leisurely against the chair back.
Malin smiled. In his mind, the ng family’s young lady was the type to be very stubborn. Once she set her mind on sothing, there was no turning back. Mr. ng’s outlandish thoughts were unlikely to co to fruition.
"Huh? Really?" ng Quyi chirped in a voice as crisp as a warbler, surprising Malin with her unexpected excitent.
"Huh? You’re coming too?" Matilda looked a bit puzzled. She wasn’t familiar with ng Quyi and had mostly heard about this Thainan girl’s tales from Lulu.
"Huh, you’re coming along?" This was Malin’s reaction. ng Quyi’s unpredictability left him slightly resigned, but he ultimately didn’t mind—after all, having one more person along wouldn’t make much difference.
He then looked at Mr. ng.
Mr. ng’s expression froze. When he noticed Malin’s gaze, the middle-aged man pursed his lips—a look that resembled a farr lanting as a wild boar ran amok in his vegetable field. The helplessness, the pain, the injustice—it was identical to Goethe’s heartbroken expression years ago when he heard his daughter wanted to marry Malin.
What’s there to cry about? The sky will rain, daughters will wed, and the cabbages you’ve grown will eventually fall prey to wild boars.
"Father, I’m going with Mr. Malin then."
ng Quyi returned to her room, changed into practical outdoor clothing, and cheerfully bid her farewells while sticking close to Malin’s side.
At the door, Malin saw the big man with a sorrowful face waving goodbye. While marveling at the old man’s exaggerated acting skills, he also thought about his own future.
Hmm... It’s fine. Malin, you’re tougher than your father-in-law. When the ti cos, you’ll surely be able to handle those little wild boars. With that thought, Malin’s mood improved considerably.
Leaving the envoy’s residence, Malin decided to first et with Wanda, the leader. If he could secure a guide, it would be perfect—this way, no one would wonder how Malin managed to find the other city, dozens of kiloters away, without taking any detours.
When he arrived at the central palace of the leader, the Skinless guards conveyed his ssage to Wanda. This gave Malin the chance to scrutinize the palace—it was essentially a massive greenhouse, with tal plates from skyscrapers replacing the traditional glass panels.
Before long, a guard returned and inford him that the leader was waiting in the main hall.
Malin handed the guard a bottle of potion, explaining that it was a redy capable of saving lives. Then, he led the two young ladies into the palace.
The leader, Wanda, was basking in the sunlight. Incidentally, Malin felt that zombies indeed enjoyed sunlight.
Stopping fifteen steps away from Wanda, Malin cleared his throat: "Your Excellency, I’m planning to head to Sagarezao City."
Hearing this, Wanda turned around. Upon seeing Malin’s appearance, the leader’s eyes widened: "Mr. Malin?" He stared, as though witnessing sothing deeply astonishing.
Malin nodded awkwardly: "Yes, my paternal bloodline is affecting ."
"Paternal bloodline... I see, I see." The leader repeated the phrase several tis before turning around. "Van, bring my child here."
Soon, a small child approached.
Surprisingly, the child looked almost indistinguishable from a human. Malin glanced at the leader, then back at the child.
The leader seed to understand Malin’s thoughts. Smiling, he extended his hand to hold the child’s, guiding him to Malin. "This child was born of my love and . His mother is human, and because of , she willingly ca here."
