Chapter 317: Two Well-Prepared Ladies
A chaotic, disordered space.
A point of starlight flickered into existence.
"Elder Jiao, that Demon Sect Holy Saint has left the city. Judging by his direction, he seems to be heading toward Qifeng City, accompanied by two human won. One is his junior sister, the Holy Maiden of the Demon Sect, and the other is unidentified. Both are at the peak Foundation Establishnt Realm. Should we take action against them?"
The voice emanated from the starlight, reverberating through the space.
The space remained silent for a while.
Then, a larger, blood-red point of starlight flared to life.
"No need to act."
The voice that erged carried a mix of madness and eerie calmness.
At this mont, another point of starlight flickered to life.
"But nearly thirty percent of our three years of efforts have been wasted because of him. The deaths of Guardian Pig, Ox, and Goat are directly connected to him, and three of the nine hidden Nether Formations we painstakingly laid were discovered and destroyed because of his actions."
The voice paused for a mont before continuing, "Although his cultivation is only at the Peak Golden Core Realm, the chances that he knows sothing about our plans cannot be ruled out. Otherwise, how could we have been so easily exposed to the Immortal Nation shortly after his arrival?"
"Moreover, he has repeatedly disrupted the Netherking’s grand plan. He deserves death! Now that he has left the capital’s territory, away from the eyes of high-level Immortal Nation cultivators, this is the perfect opportunity to kill him!"
The voice was impassioned, but the largest blood-red star abruptly expanded.
"Manager Ji... Are you trying to teach how to handle things?"
The madness in the tone overshadowed the eerie calm.
The previously passionate starlight trembled violently. "Th–This subordinate wouldn’t dare."
The space returned to silence.
The blood-red starlight slowly regained its initial state.
"...That man is under the protection of the Buddhist Sect. Now that we are allied with them, we cannot kill him unless absolutely necessary. Doing so would invoke the Netherking’s wrath."
The calm voice overpowered the madness within it. "That said, it is indeed necessary to keep an eye on him. And the Antediluvian Nether Eye is still in his possession..."
"Manager Ji, I’ll leave this matter to you. Do not expose yourself, do not take his life, but retrieve the Antediluvian Nether Eye. It is a treasure of our Netherkin Nation."
"With your abilities, dealing with a re Peak Golden Core Realm cultivator shouldn’t be a problem, should it?"
The previously trembling starlight flickered.
"Yes, rest assured, Elder. This subordinate will handle it properly, cluck cluck cluck!"

In a forest outside the capital.
Luo Wusheng walked between two stunningly beautiful young won, lost in thought.
Since his return to the capital, how many tis had he found himself sandwiched between such dazzling beauties?
It’s truly troubling... If this happens a few more tis, or if more join in, that would be great.
He can still handle it.
But how did things turn out like this?
Luo Wusheng recalled everything that had happened since he left the inn.
Hmm, when his junior sister first suggested joining him on his trip to Qifeng City, he had initially refused.
Even though his visit might appear to be a casual trip, he did have serious matters to attend to. It was already challenging to manage Little Yuli’s emotions along the way; adding Bai Xiaoyao into the mix would only complicate things.
Moreover, with both him and his junior sister gone, what if sothing happened at the Demon Artifact Pavilion?
However, Bai Xiaoyao was indeed a capable Junior Sister and Demon Sect Holy Maiden—her actions were flawless. She had prepared everything in advance, leaving him no room for excuses.
Coupled with her soft and clingy deanor, Luo Wusheng eventually gave in.
Fine, what bad intentions could his junior sister possibly have?
And so, after much hesitation, Luo Wusheng agreed to let Bai Xiaoyao accompany him.
’Though Little Yuli seems a bit off today... This is my first ti traveling with her unmasked, isn’t it? Or maybe I’ve never had the chance to go out with her before...’
When the sword fairy first saw him, she seed visibly stunned.
Well, it was probably because having his junior sister along was unexpected.
As usual, Bai Xiaoyao had Little Yuli completely in her grasp. With just a few words, the situation had turned into what it was now.
The three of them were now traveling together toward Qifeng City.
Since it was still early and Luo Wusheng wanted to avoid drawing attention to his movents, he chose to walk through the woods to find a village where they could later switch to a different mode of transport.
After all, he had felt a faint sense of being watched when leaving the city. It wasn’t until he had led the two girls far away into the wilderness that this feeling finally disappeared.
’So, fa really is a double-edged sword...’
Luo Wusheng sighed inwardly, only to feel his body being pulled from both sides.
Finally, leaning slightly to the left, he found himself enveloped in a comforting softness.
"Th-Then next, let’s go to Phoenix Fairy’s Shop, shall we? Their Fengxian Pastries are delicious—sweet and crispy. You and Xiaoyao will surely love them!"
Little Yuli’s voice reached his ears.
"Alright..."
Luo Wusheng responded absentmindedly, only to be pulled to the right.
Though not as soft as the left side, the fit was even better.
"I heard that Qifeng City’s ’Phoenix Perch Tower’ has a dish called ’Phoenix Resting on a Wutong Tree.’ It’s famous even in the capital. Why don’t we try it later? If Senior Brother likes it, I can learn the recipe and make it for you when we return."
Bai Xiaoyao’s breath was soft and sweet, her voice tickling Luo Wusheng’s heart.
"Ah, yes, yes..."
Luo Wusheng nodded instinctively.
This scene had repeated countless tis along the way.
Both girls seed to have co prepared, offering different yet equally persuasive suggestions like tour guides eager to showcase the wonders of Qifeng City.
From local culture to famous landmarks and even culinary delights, their well-researched plans left the clueless Luo Wusheng thoroughly impressed.
’It seems these two were planning this trip for fun from the start... I thought they might have other business, but I guess I was overthinking it.’
It appeared that the only one with actual responsibilities was himself.
Nevertheless, Luo Wusheng carefully morized everything they said for two reasons.
One, to quickly familiarize himself with Qifeng City, especially its ancient landmarks. If his earlier guesses were correct, the place where Yue Xuanji wanted him to plant the Ancient Phoenix Essence was likely one of these landmarks, particularly those associated with phoenix legends.
Two, well... Both girls had crafted excellent itineraries. It wouldn’t hurt to rember them for future reference.
For example, if the opportunity arose, he could take his lovely Shuangxue there for a visit soday...
