On the Naless Hill, the Qing’an caravan had just finished setting up their defenses when the enemy impatiently surrounded them.

A mass of one or two thousand rogues spilled over the wilderness, their eyes flashing with greed and bloodlust, like wolves eyeing a flock of sheep, eager to reveal their fangs and claws.

These rogues were not ordinary vagrants; most were physically robust and equipped with spears, swords, axes, and a few bows and arrows. Their movents were disciplined, far from being a re rabble.

Moreover, among the rogues, there were a few well-equipped leaders who occasionally shouted to boost morale.

The rogues halted their advance about half a mile from the caravan.

They did not rashly attack, only surrounding the caravan on the hill with an imposing stance.

It seed they were waiting for sothing.

Seeing this situation, Wang Chen in the makeshift camp had a large box moved out.

This box was very heavy, requiring four porters to carry it.

The box was placed in front of Wang Chen, who drew his sword and cut down the bronze lock hanging on it.

Then he kicked open the lid of the box.

The people of the caravan gathered around couldn’t help but gasp.

Because inside the box was a brilliant pile of snow-white silver, so alluring it made hearts throb.

Although everyone knew the caravan carried a large amount of gold and silver to Yunze Prefecture to purchase grain.

But knowing and witnessing are two completely different things!

Wang Chen stood on the silver box and said in a deep voice, "You all see the situation now, we’ve been targeted by these rogues. If we don’t deal with these jackal dogs, forget about taking the grain ho, we may not even save our own lives."

"I plan to charge while the number of rogues is not yet large. Who among you is willing to join in fighting the enemy?"

These many rogues certainly aren’t a single group; it’s likely that the bandits within Yunze Prefecture knew fat prey was passing by, and since one or two teams couldn’t handle it alone, they sent out ssages to summon allies to share the feast.

Therefore, holding out on this waterless hill is not a wise choice. The enemy’s strength isn’t overwhelming yet; it’s the best opportunity for a charge.

But how many can Wang Chen kill alone?

The caravan guards looked at each other, and imdiately dozens stepped forward, saluting in unison, "We are willing to serve you, sir, unto death!"

These guards were veteran soldiers from the garrison army, who had once followed Wang Chen in slaying rogues on the walls of Qing’an City. Thus, they revered and trusted him the most.

Moreover, having killed and seen blood before, they naturally possessed a fierce courage, responding the most eagerly.

"Very good!"

Wang Chen kicked over the silver box, and ingots of ten-tael white silver spilled out instantly.

"Everyone take an ingot first, there will be generous rewards after defeating the rogues!"

To make people risk their lives, silver tael must be promised. Wang Chen didn’t like making empty promises, especially when a great enemy was before them.

"We too are willing to serve you, sir!"

The escorts and porters also eagerly volunteered for battle.

Apart from being stimulated by the silver spread on the ground, most of them were locals of Qing’an County, well aware of the importance of this grain to their hotown. If they couldn’t bring it back, their families might starve.

Most importantly, surrounded by rogues this way, how could there be any other path to survival but to fight back desperately?

Surrendering was out of the question; surrender ant certain death!

So why not fight desperately alongside Wang Chen?

"Very good!"

Wang Chen selected three hundred elite n, outfitting them with weapons, and then retrieved a long wooden box from beneath a wagon himself.

The wooden box contained a long handle and a long blade, which when assembled ford a blade over eight feet long!

This blade was specially crafted by the best craftsman in the official manufacture workshop for Wang Chen’s grain-buying task, using thousand-forged fine iron. When infused with internal energy, it could easily cut through heavy armor.

When Wang Chen wielded this blade, taller than himself, its blade reflected a frigid light, stunning everyone present!

"Everyone, follow to slay the enemy!"

Without any superfluous words, Wang Chen charged out of the camp and towards the rogues below the hill.

The three hundred elite soldiers followed closely behind!

This scene dumbfounded the rogues.

They had the nurical advantage and considered themselves the local lords, planning to encircle the Qing’an caravan to slowly consu it, eventually savoring the most delicious at.

But to their utter astonishnt, the Qing’an caravan didn’t play by the rules at all, initiating the attack instead.

Seeing the nacing three hundred elite soldiers, many rogues beca fearful and instinctively retreated.

"Don’t panic!"

A bandit leader shouted fiercely, "Archers ready, shoot them all dead for !"

At this mont, Wang Chen was less than half a mile from the nearest rogues.

His charging speed was incredibly fast, significantly widening the distance from the three hundred elite soldiers behind him.

Forming a wedge-like montum.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Hundreds of arrows were shot towards Wang Chen.

Although these arrows were fired ssily and hastily, they were still densely packed, entirely enveloping Wang Chen.

"Break!"

Wang Chen suddenly raised his head and roared, an invisible wave of energy exploded, shaking off all the arrows shot at him.

The next mont, Wang Chen abruptly accelerated his charge, spearheading his way like flying, reaching the nearest rogue in an instant.

Whoosh!

The long blade swept out horizontally, the snow-bright blade erupting with a cold gleam, striking two rogues at once.

Both rogues held shields in front, but under the blade’s sharpness, they were like paper, offering no defense whatsoever.

Amazingly, with a single strike from Wang Chen, they were sliced into four pieces, shields and all!

The rogues halved and fell did not die imdiately; they screeched with agony and despair, officially opening this brutal battle.

Wang Chen did not stop; he ruthlessly killed his way into the midst of the rogues, blade swinging left and right, unleashing a whirlwind of blood and carnage!

No rogue could withstand Wang Chen’s blade.

This more than eight-foot-long blade had an astonishingly large killing range and in Wang Chen’s hands was unstoppable, rcilessly harvesting wave after wave of enemy lives.

"Die!"

A bandit leader with blood-red eyes leapt high, hacking down at Wang Chen’s head with a war saber from above.

But before he even landed, a flash of unstoppable blade light swept past, exploding into a bloody rain.

The rogue’s not-so-tight formation crumbled instantly.

These rogues were here to profit, not to fight to the death. Seeing their companions around them falling like wheat under a scythe, listening to their harrowing cries, their courage shattered utterly.

Many rogues turned and fled, so even dropping the weapons in their hands.
