Chapter 1376: Chapter 1374: Blood Moon (16)

Boom!

Abert Austin was the first to bear the brunt, directly colliding with the surging flas.

Even though he held a large shield capable of fending off rifle bullets, it still couldn’t withstand the impact of the fire surge, and he was sent flying.

It was almost identical to when this Transcendent had previously knocked his opponent away!

But his warning and the burst of power at the critical mont blocked the montum of the fire surge for a split second.

This gave the Night Watchn behind him a chance to evade and resist.

The scorching heat instantly engulfed the passage, igniting the Night Watchn’s robes, and the accompanying shock wave shattered their formation, reducing it to chaos.

“Wizard!”

Abert Austin leapt up from the ground, his robe stained with filth, his face twisted in a savage expression, as if he was ready to devour soone.

The fire surge that had just erupted was entirely the product of Transcendent power—the Wizard’s witchcraft!

This Night Watchman captain had already caught the “stench” of a Wizard.

He never expected that a Wizard, supposedly noble, would be found in the sunless sewers, standing with underground forces.

This ant that the Kingdom’s enemies had mastered more advanced powers!

Recalling the earlier attack by the Blackbeard Pirates on the Lower City District police station, Abert Austin felt a chill down his spine.

But there was no ti for him to think further.

The ground suddenly began to shake violently.

Abert Austin’s face changed dramatically, and he roared, “Retreat!”

He felt extrely stifled but hadn’t lost his sanity.

In a special environnt like the sewers, a Wizard’s power would be greatly amplified.

Holding the line would only drag himself and his comrades into hell!

No sooner had these words left the Night Watchman captain’s mouth than cracks appeared in the walls around them, and countless pieces of mud and stone began to fall.

The underground tremors were threatening to destroy the entire passage!

No need for Abert Austin to repeat himself, the Night Watchn imdiately evacuated the dangerous area at their fastest possible speed.

As soon as they retreated, huge chunks of earth and stone collapsed, blocking the long tunnel.

At this ti, Ronan found himself separated from the Night Watchn team.

When the fire surge inundated the area monts ago, he had wisely retreated into a nearby side passage.

Thus, he managed to evade the danger unscathed.

But the subsequent earthquake caused the passage to collapse and block, separating Ronan from Abert Austin and the others.

Ronan knew full well that even if Abert Austin realized what had happened, there was no way he would bring people back to search for him.

From now on, Ronan could only rely on himself!

If it were anyone else, they probably would have descended into panic by now.

But Ronan felt no fear whatsoever.

After confirming that the entrance on this side was completely blocked, he turned to the other side to search for an exit.

As long as it wasn’t a dead end, getting back to the surface wouldn’t be an issue!

The problem was, after advancing a few hundred ters, Ronan encountered two branching paths to the left and right.

Which way should he go?

He hesitated for a mont, then chose the left path.

This passage was long, and Ronan, using his headlamp for illumination, trudged through thick mud and debris for over a thousand ters before encountering a new passage.

This ti, Ronan encountered enemies!

Previously, when he was following Abert Austin’s team, at most he played a supporting role, with the dirty and hard work being taken care of by the Night Watchn led by Abert Austin.

Ronan instead beca the protected one!

The primary goal for Abert Austin in using his authority to involve Ronan, who was just a senior officer, in this mission was to help Ronan gain experience and rits.

So Ronan would have the chance to learn the Steel Armor Breathing Technique, advancing into the Transcendent realm sooner.

Originally, this plan was excellent, as Lande City’s underground forces were no match for the Night Watch Brigade.

But things turned sour, unexpectedly trapping Ronan in a situation with no support.

And in this labyrinthine underground, who knew how much danger was hidden? Ronan’s encounter with the enemy was both a fluke and an inevitability.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The mont they collided, bullets shot toward Ronan like raindrops.

It was still the Blackbeard Pirates; they were like frightened birds, pulling the trigger the mont sothing felt off.

Ronan reacted swiftly, retreating into the passage he ca from at the fastest possible speed before the attack was launched.

The bullets fired by the Blackbeard Pirates all missed their mark.

As soon as the gunfire paused, Ronan suddenly darted out, both hands gripping revolvers, firing in unison!

In just a few seconds, he emptied the chambers of both guns.

Opposite him, the n in black fell like wheat under a scythe, toppling in unison.

Ronan’s shooting was too fast and too accurate; his initial counterattack claid seven lives, five of whom died from headshots!

Firearms weren’t even Ronan’s strongest suit.

Close combat and Spiritual Energy were his ultimate skills.

However, with his extraordinary perception and control, Ronan’s shooting skills had reached a near-divine level in the previous world, hardly hindered even when using rudintary weapons!

He could shoot with precision purely by instinct, without the need for deliberate aiming.

Thus, he could increase his shooting speed to the extre.

The only thing limiting Ronan was the ammunition capacity of the weapons.

He holstered the two emptied revolvers and switched to a shotgun filled with shells!

But the remaining enemies were already petrified by Ronan’s terrifying gunplay, screaming as they fled.

Without hesitation, Ronan pursued them.

He had no knowledge of this underground labyrinth, nor did he know the way back to the surface. Rather than running around blindly, it was better to follow the enemy’s tracks to find a way out.

During the chase, Ronan strategically controlled his distance from the pirates.

To conceal his presence, he turned off his headlamp, blending into the darkness, relying entirely on hearing and perception to move forward.

After about ten minutes of pursuit, Ronan arrived at a new destination.

An enormous underground cavern!

The scene that unfolded before him left even the well-traveled Ronan montarily stunned.

This cavern was like a small underground city, vast in area, mostly occupied by rudintary stone huts, earthen houses, and tattered tents.

Everywhere on the ground in front of and behind these dwellings, garbage was piled up, so mounds reaching high above and emanating foul odors.

Ronan also saw many residents of this underground city, most of them dressed in rags, their hair tangled and faces filthy, looking malnourished and emaciated.

They resembled walking corpses!
