Three days later, Wang Chen returned to Holy Light Star.

As he walked out of the airport’s passenger corridor, three n appeared in front of him, blocking his path.

One of them showed Wang Chen a blue credential: "Sir Wang Chen, I am Luo Anguo from the Imperial Investigation Bureau. We have a case that requires your cooperation for investigation. Please co with us."

Surrounding passengers glanced over with surprised looks, but upon hearing the words "Imperial Investigation Bureau," they quickened their steps.

The Imperial Investigation Bureau, the Imperial Security Bureau, and the Imperial Intelligence Bureau are the famous three bureaus of the Holy Light Empire, responsible for dostic and foreign affairs enforcent.

Matters involving these three bureaus are significant for the average person!

Yet, the deterrence of the Imperial Investigation Bureau didn’t affect Wang Chen; he calmly asked, "Do you have an arrest warrant from the military departnt?"

Wang Chen’s primary identity now is the chief advisor for the Imperial Superpower Managent Bureau, followed by an Imperial knight.

Neither of these identities could resist enforcent actions from the Imperial Investigation Bureau.

However, Wang Chen is also a Major in the Imperial Army!

Although he’s temporarily detached from the military system, he is still an active mid-ranking officer. Without an arrest docunt from the military departnt, the Imperial Investigation Bureau truly doesn’t have the authority to arrest him.

Luo Anguo obviously didn’t have it, yet his expression remained very serious: "Sir Wang Chen, you must understand, you are implicated in a serious criminal offense..."

Before Luo Anguo could finish his words, Wang Chen simply bypassed him and continued forward, showing no intent to communicate.

"Stop!"

One of Luo Anguo’s n imdiately reached out to block Wang Chen, only to scream in pain the next mont: "Ah!"

Wang Chen released the person’s wrist and said to the visibly upset Luo Anguo, "What’s the matter? Does your bureau now have the authority to enforce against Imperial military personnel?"

"Don’t misunderstand."

Luo Anguo forcefully restrained his anger and said solemnly, "Major Wang Chen, we rely wish to talk with you, hoping you can assist by providing so clues, with no intent to restrict your personal freedom."

The Imperial Investigation Bureau is responsible for dostic intelligence and criminal investigations; to be accused of exceeding enforcent authority, especially against Imperial military personnel, would result in consequences beyond his capability as a re second-level investigator to bear.

So Luo Anguo could only ignore his subordinate’s pain and lower his tone towards Wang Chen: "At most, it will take half an hour of your ti."

He internally cursed the superior who assigned him this task.

"Alright then."

Wang Chen smiled and said, "Let’s talk then."

Thus, he carried his luggage and boarded the flying car that Luo Anguo and his people drove to the headquarters of the Imperial Investigation Bureau located in Holy Capital.

The Imperial Investigation Bureau’s headquarters is located in the core area of the Imperial Capital. The building is inconspicuous among the surrounding skyscrapers, appearing very ordinary and not at all imposing.

However, inside this building, which is only fifty stories high, gathers a team of the Empire’s elite investigators.

Returning to his headquarters, Luo Anguo visibly relaxed, while his two subordinates looked at Wang Chen with such ill intent that they were almost eager to make a move.

Wang Chen scoffed.

Others viewed the Imperial Investigation Bureau as an extrely dangerous place; Wang Chen, single-handedly, could slaughter everyone here.

The threat seed utterly ridiculous in Wang Chen’s eyes.

Luo Anguo instead courteously invited Wang Chen to sit in an office, even personally brewing a cup of coffee for him.

"Thank you."

Wang Chen took the coffee and tasted it, smiling, "Finally got to taste the Investigation Bureau’s coffee."

That statent is actually a joke.

Luo Anguo evidently understood, smiling as he sat across from Wang Chen: "How’s the taste?"

On the way here, he had already thought it through; the matter was deeply complicated, and if he didn’t want to beco a scapegoat, the best approach was to muddle through and delay.

So Luo Anguo was both trying to fulfill the task given from above and ensuring he didn’t offend Wang Chen.

"Just so-so."

Wang Chen assessed casually, then placed down the coffee cup, leisurely asking, "Alright, what do you want from ?"

Luo Anguo opened the folder on the table and showed a photo to Wang Chen: "Do you recognize him?"

"I do."

Wang Chen glanced and answered, "Wan Bangda, manager of Wanhai Group’s external affairs departnt branch on Tampas Star."

Luo Anguo gazed at Wang Chen: "Three days ago, Wan Bangda t you at the under-construction Space Fortress hotel on Tampas Star. The two of you talked in a room for five minutes, then he left the hotel and was killed by an out-of-control flying car at the hotel entrance."

"Ha!"

Wang Chen laughed, "I wondered why there were so many patrol cars and ambulances below the hotel that day. Turns out he got smashed to death. How unlucky!"

His schadenfreude overflowed.

Luo Anguo remained silent.

Actually, this small room was equipped with dozens of hidden caras and sensors, relaying the scenes of their conversation to a large screen in another room.

Experts from the Imperial Investigation Bureau were present at the scene, analyzing both the dialogue and Wang Chen’s every move.

And through bone conduction earphones, the results were passed on to Luo Anguo, guiding the conversation’s direction!

It seed that Luo Anguo was alone chatting with Wang Chen, but in reality, he had an elite team supporting him.

Luo Anguo asked again, "Can you tell us what he talked with you about?"

"Of course."

Wang Chen nonchalantly replied, "Wanhai Group tampered with the underground base project on Tampas Star, embezzling billions of Imperial funds and causing the deaths of countless survivors."

"They were concerned about exposure, so attempted to bribe into silence, but I rejected it."

Luo Anguo almost kneeled on the spot!

He intended to extract useful intel from Wang Chen to report back to his superiors.

Unexpectedly, Wang Chen directly dropped a bombshell!

Is this sothing that can be casually ntioned?

Luo Anguo regretted imnsely.

Only now did he fully comprehend the kind of situation he was involved in, wishing he could turn back ti and retract his earlier question.

Wang Chen dared to speak out!

Feeling like he fell into a bottomless pit, Luo Anguo could only bravely say, "Such things can’t be said recklessly, and they have nothing to do with the case. We now suspect that Wan Bangda’s death by flying car wasn’t an accident."

"But manmade!"

He stared intently at Wang Chen, as if flowers could grow from the latter’s face.

Wang Chen raised an eyebrow, "Manmade? Wanhai Group’s employee dismissal thod is unusually novel indeed."

Luo Anguo barely kept himself from spitting blood.

He took a deep breath and, having heard instructions from the earphones, said, "Major Wang Chen, if I recall correctly, you’re still the chief advisor of the Imperial Superpower Managent Bureau."

"The Empire’s strongest superpower!"
