In front of Wang Chen stood a somber black building.

It was thirty-seven stories tall, one of the prominent skyscrapers in the Silver Forest Underground City, once the Senhai Star headquarters for a mining company.

When the company later abandoned operations here, the building was purchased by the Miners’ Mutual Aid Association.

The Silver Forest Underground City housed nearly four hundred thousand residents, with more than seventy thousand being miners. Combined with their families, they constituted almost 70% of the population.

Though not every miner joined the association, this organization was indisputably the largest civilian force in the Silver Forest Underground City, unmatched in its stability and extensive roots.

Such a situation was closely linked to the thod of extracting energy mines.

Energy mines were extrely valuable, regarded as strategic reserve resources for the empire, with a vast range of applications and unwavering demand.

The empire invested trillions of Star Currency annually to discover new deposits.

However, energy mining wasn’t suited for automated extraction; it required manual labor.

Thus, even though the energy mine reserves near the Silver Forest Base weren’t imnse, a large number of miners were still needed, even leading to the creation of this underground city.

It was due to these special circumstances that ng Liangao, who controlled the First chanized Infantry Regint of Senhai, was apprehensive about the Miners’ Mutual Aid Association, avoiding taking extre actions.

From Wang Chen’s perspective, ng Liangao had long lost the vigor and enthusiasm a soldier should have, becoming a cautious bureaucrat, both slick and timid.

Previously, ng Liangao suggested he contact the president of the Miners’ Mutual Aid Association, Tao Zhenrong, to discuss the issue of the rebel factions, so they could formulate a plan that Wang Chen could report upwards.

The Miners’ Mutual Aid Association was undoubtedly linked to Senhai Star’s rebel factions. If Tao Zhenrong could step up and hand over the ones responsible for the murder of Wang Chen’s predecessor, the problem would be resolved.

Who cared if that culprit was genuine or not?

Though ng Liangao’s idea was sound, Wang Chen sneered—it wasn’t his style to play along!

Wang Chen didn’t expect much help from ng Liangao. After gathering sufficient information, he decided to handle the mission his own way.

"Who are you here to see?"

The building’s guard gave Wang Chen, approaching the steps, a wary look and asked in a deep voice, "Do you have an appointnt?"

Wang Chen, cloaked in a black cape, ascended the stairs with poise and an aura of confidence, clearly not an ordinary figure.

"I’m here for Tao Zhenrong."

Upon the guard’s questioning, Wang Chen calmly replied, "Is he in?"

In reality, the question was unnecessary.

Because under normal circumstances, the president of the Miners’ Mutual Aid Association never left his stronghold.

Intelligence indicated that within this building, there were not only various entertainnt facilities but also an elite guard squad of miners, possessing an unknown amount of weaponry.

"Get lost!"

The guard, with a fierce look, snarled, "Kid, this isn’t the place for you to cause trouble!"

He had already gripped a high-voltage electric baton, ready to teach Wang Chen a lesson.

Wang Chen’s gaze swept over, suddenly reaching out to grab the baton from a distance of several ters.

The guard hadn’t even had ti to grasp what happened before the glowing electric baton jabbed into his stomach, its two sharp prongs penetrating his clothes and releasing 50,000 volts of electricity instantly.

The gatekeeper of the Miners Mutual Aid Association Building imdiately convulsed, eyes rolling back as he collapsed to the ground.

Wang Chen retrieved the electric baton, patting his left hand.

The sound echoed sharply.

In the next mont, he stepped inside the building.

"Stop!"

Other guards in the building’s ground floor lobby were shocked, one of them shouting angrily and drawing a pistol from his waist.

"Don’t move, or I’ll shoot!"

Wang Chen’s eyes narrowed as an invisible spiritual power storm erupted in the lobby.

The three guards simultaneously fell to the ground.

Wang Chen reached out to collect the pistol that had dropped to the floor.

To his surprise, it turned out to be a gunpowder weapon!

Such weapons, driven by high-energy gunpowder to launch tal projectiles, had long beco antique playthings.

But the handgun in Wang Chen’s hand was clearly no antique; it looked quite new, manufactured no more than a year ago, with little sign of use.

Although Wang Chen had never used such heat weapons before, familiarizing and mastering them took only half a minute.

He removed the magazine, finding it loaded with twelve bullets, roughly 7mm in caliber.

The bullets were also brand new.

Interesting.

Wang Chen played with it briefly before searching the unconscious guards for two more handguns and several extra magazines.

Then he stepped over the guards on the floor and approached the elevator.

The elevator looked rather old but was operational, showing signs of activity.

And at this mont, Wang Chen had expanded his spiritual energy to cover the entire building, his perception delving into every floor, room, and corner!

Dong!

With the sound of a notification, the elevator doors abruptly opened, and the lights inside flickered for an instant.

It felt eerie and ominous.

Wang Chen walked in without hesitation, using the gun barrel to press the top floor button.

The doors closed, the motor roared, and the elevator began to ascend swiftly.

However, when it reached the 23rd floor, it suddenly stopped, the lights went out, and it ceased operation, plunging Wang Chen into darkness.

Boom!

Wang Chen kicked the elevator door in front of him, the explosive force shattering the tal panel with deafening noise.

He walked out of the elevator car unhurriedly.

Outside were a dozen fully ard guards, staring in shock as Wang Chen erged from the broken door.

Wang Chen smiled and said, "Hello everyone, I’m looking for Tao Zhenrong."

The ard personnel, realizing the situation, imdiately raised their weapons at Wang Chen.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Crisp gunshots rang out, accompanied by bursts of blood, as bodies with exploded heads fell to the ground.

In just a few seconds, Wang Chen emptied the magazine.

Only one trembling guard remained!

The only reason he survived was that he hadn’t aid his weapon at Wang Chen right away.

Wang Chen replaced the empty magazine with a new one and smiled at the guard, "I’m looking for Tao Zhenrong, understand?"

"Understood, understood!"

The terrified guard hastily dropped his weapon, shivering as he replied, "The, the president is on the top floor, I, I’ll take you there."
