Chapter 1165: Chapter 1165: True Proof (41)
Early in the morning, Xie Yunyao rubbed her sleepy eyes and climbed out of her velvet bed.
After freshening up in the bathroom, she went downstairs for breakfast, still feeling a bit groggy.
This young girl had not slept well the entire night. Although she had called her psychologist cousin, their conversation did nothing to resolve the troubles she was currently facing.
Or perhaps, her worries.
As she stepped down the spiral staircase, Xie Yunyao froze.
She saw a beautiful woman wearing an apron, arranging serving plates on the dining table.
This person was not their housekeeper.
“Mom?”
Xie Yunyao was utterly shocked. “When did you get here?”
The beautiful woman was none other than Xie Yunyao’s mother, Chang Qian—the chairwoman of the Fortune 500 company Haicheng Group!
Chang Qian had always worked at the headquarters in Huhai and was constantly overwheld by her busy schedule. For her to suddenly and quietly show up at the family ho in Yi City was truly a surprise to Xie Yunyao.
With a warm smile, Chang Qian opened her arms to her daughter. “Co here, let Mommy hold you.”
Xie Yunyao pouted for a mont but obediently nestled into her mother’s embrace.
Breathing in the familiar gentle fragrance on her mother, she felt a sense of peace and joy that relieved most of her worries.
The girl couldn’t resist acting spoiled: “You still haven’t told why you ca here so suddenly!”
She knew very well how busy her mother normally was—a true career-oriented woman who would feel unwell if she spent even a day away from work.
Chang Qian gently stroked her daughter’s hair and replied softly, “Soone told that my baby was facing a big problem, so I took the first flight here this morning.”
Chang Qian owned a private plane, but compared to the cost of flying across such a distance to Yi City, she was far more concerned about her daughter’s ntal health. “Yaoyao, no matter what kind of problem you’re dealing with, you can always share it with Mommy. Mommy will definitely help you.”
As she spoke, Chang Qian guided Xie Yunyao to sit on a nearby dining chair. “Let’s eat first. I made your favorite Wagyu beef sandwich.”
But Xie Yunyao had little appetite. Instead, after thinking for a mont, she got up, went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and returned to the dining table holding a bottle of tomato sauce.
“What is this?”
Chang Qian looked curiously at the bottle her daughter had brought back.
The glass bottle was the type ordinarily used in average households for storing pickled vegetables, homade alcohol, or sugar. It was worth only a few dollars, and both the lid and the bottle itself exuded a sense of cheapness.
Such a bottle would normally never appear in the ho of soone like Chang Qian.
The house where Xie Yunyao lived was located in the most luxurious villa community in Yi City, consisting of only twenty-seven standalone villas. Her ho, the largest and most premium unit, was worth nearly ten million dollars!
The renovations alone had cost tens of millions, and even the paper napkins on the dining table were expensive, luxury products priced at hundreds of dollars.
Moreover, the sauce inside the bottle looked odd.
Xie Yunyao explained, “Mom, this is tomato sauce made from the tomatoes I sent to you last ti. Would you like to try so?”
Chang Qian’s eyes lit up imdiately. “Really? I’d love to try it!”
Previously, Xie Yunyao had sent five tomatoes to Huhai using express air delivery, claiming that they were incredibly delicious.
At the ti, Chang Qian had felt both amused and touched.
“Just tomatoes,” she had thought. “How good can they possibly be?”
She had tasted tomatoes from all over the world, including those shipped internationally.
But when she sampled the ones sent by her daughter, she discovered that there really were flavors she had never encountered before.
At this mont, the billionaire chairwoman unscrewed the cap of a bottle worth only a few dollars. Using a table knife, she scooped out a bit of bright red tomato sauce and spread it on a slice of bread.
She took a bite, closed her eyes to savor it carefully, and let out a contented sigh: “This flavor is wonderful—it’s even better as tomato sauce!”
Three bites later, she had devoured the entire slice of bread. Still not satisfied, she licked her lips and curiously asked, “Where did you get this? I asked you before, but you wouldn’t tell .”
Xie Yunyao hesitated for a mont but finally mustered the courage to say, “Mom, I t soone…”
She proceeded to tell her mother everything about her story with Wang Chen, leaving nothing out.
Growing up, Xie Yunyao had spent far more ti with her father than her mother.
Emotionally, she was closer to her father, but her mother had always been her idol.
Believing in her mother’s wisdom, Xie Yunyao was certain she could help her resolve these troubles.
Listening to her daughter’s story, Chang Qian’s expression grew sowhat unusual. She reached out and stroked her daughter’s hair: “Yaoyao, you’ve matured.”
This renowned industry leader then took her daughter’s hand and said with deep aning, “Yaoyao, I know that at your age, it’s natural to be curious about the opposite sex.”
“Mommy doesn’t object to you falling in love because youth is beautiful and fleeting. You deserve to enjoy that beauty. But Mommy suggests you don’t invest all your ti and emotions into a relationship.”
“Moreover, you must protect yourself. Us girls are the most vulnerable—you understand, right?”
Before she could finish her heartfelt advice, Xie Yunyao’s cheeks were already burning red. “Mom, you’ve misunderstood! It’s really not what you think. Wang Chen is… is really different!”
“I understand,”
Chang Qian smiled. “If he were just an ordinary person, he wouldn’t have confused you so much. Mommy isn’t against you falling in love; I’m just reminding you to protect yourself.”
As a mother, she was exceedingly open-minded.
However, Xie Yunyao bit her lip hard: “Mom, you still don’t understand. Initially, he gave an incredibly terrifying feeling, as if he could kill instantly with just a wave of his hand!”
“I was very afraid of him, but after talking to him once, I didn’t feel that fear anymore.”
As she watched her daughter grow agitated, Chang Qian’s expression turned serious. She realized that the situation wasn’t as simple as she had originally thought, and her sense of caution surged.
Earlier, her niece’s explanation had been vague and ambiguous; she had assud it was just a matter of adolescent confusion.
But now it seed far more severe than she had anticipated.
The business titan could no longer remain seated. She imdiately said, “I want to et this Wang Chen and have a chat with him. Do you have his contact information?”
Xie Yunyao nodded. “I added him on WeChat.”
Chang Qian decisively commanded, “ssage him now and tell him we’re coming over.”
“Huh?”
Xie Yunyao was dumbfounded. “Right now?”
Chang Qian replied coolly, “That’s right. If you don’t do it, I’ll make a call to your school and inquire myself.”
With her status, one phone call would guarantee that Yi City High School would send over all of Wang Chen’s information.
Panicking slightly, Xie Yunyao stamred, “Fine, I’ll do it.”
Seeing the unprecedented weakness and helplessness in her daughter’s deanor, Chang Qian secretly sighed inwardly.
And with that, she firmly resolved to solve the problem.
If the problem couldn’t be resolved, then she’d deal with the person causing it.
