Chapter 1081: Chapter 1081: Western Expedition (Part 1)

The Far-West Great Qin is the newest enemy of Great Zhou.

This enemy surpasses the combined territory, population, and strength of the forr Great Yan and Great Qi.

Its heritage is much deeper than the newly-established Great Zhou!

Apart from a few distant rchants, the forr Great Liang had no interactions with Great Qin, only knowing that this country lies tens of thousands of miles away, separated by continuous mountains and vast Gobi deserts.

When ambitious Great Zhou attempted to establish a unified empire, a collision with Far-West Great Qin occurred unexpectedly yet foreseeably.

The war between the two sides first broke out in the western frontier of Great Qi.

Initially, Great Qin only dispatched small teams of Lancer Cavalry to invade the border, scouting and raiding the peripheral areas of the western frontier.

But soon, the scale of the invasion increased, even involving entire legions.

The people of Great Qin consist of the Hua Clan and Xi Clan; the Hua Clan is similar to the people of Yan and Qi, sharing the sa origins.

The Xi Clan, however, developed from the native indigenous people and has distinct physical and facial characteristics from the Hua Clan, similar to the differences between Europeans and Asians in Wang Chen’s previous life.

The establishnt of Great Qin resulted from thousands of years of war, rising and falling, swallowing nurous countries and tribes.

Thus, the people of Great Qin are bravely martial, each individual possessing strong combat capabilities and having their own Martial Arts systems.

There are even over a hundred Taoist Palaces within its borders, placing significant emphasis on the use of Spells in warfare.

Not only that, but the Qin Army also possesses Cannons and Firearms; though technically incomparable to Great Zhou, their developnt speed is rapid.

The upper echelons of Great Zhou speculate that the technology of Great Qin’s Cannons and Firearms likely ca from the exiled people of Yan and Qi.

And then it was quickly absorbed and implented by them!

The potential of this nation is unfathomable.

Realizing the great threat posed by Great Qin, Wu Zhao had to summon a large army to move north and lead the charge personally, despite the dostic unrest not being fully settled.

Currently, this Empress is stationed in the forr Qi territory, teaming up with Ling Zhiyuan to counter the incoming forces from Western Great Qin.

The war between the two sides had already persisted for over half a year at that ti.

Although having the advantage in the new warfare technologies like Cannons and Firearms, Great Zhou’s military strength is greatly overshadowed by Great Qin’s, with Qin Cavalry being particularly formidable, thus Great Zhou has continuously been on the defensive, in a rather dire situation.

Despite the situation being dire, holding the several fortresses in the western frontier has not been much of an issue.

However, after nurous battles between Great Zhou forces and Great Qin forces, even Ling Zhiyuan personally entering the fray hasn’t gained much advantage.

Because among the enemy were super-powerful individuals capable of contending with him!

And the invaders of Hanhai Prefecture have quite complex origins.

Earlier, so enemies were captured by the Taoist Palace, and through the use of Spells, much information was extracted.

The main force of the invaders were originally from several large tribes in the southwestern part of Great Yan, who imdiately kowtowed and pledged loyalty to Wu Zhao after the fall of Great Yan, thus managing to preserve their territories and wealth.

This was mainly because the demise of Great Yan was too swift, and Great Zhou couldn’t fully assimilate it for decades, therefore preferential treatnt was given to those local powers willing to surrender.

Otherwise, if every power was forcibly conquered, it would too easily incite resistance, a price too hefty to bear.

However, these large tribes were rely subservient on the surface, and as soon as Wu Zhao moved north to personally lead the fight against Great Qin, they imdiately stirred up trouble, colluding with a group of remnants from Yan State to brazenly invade Hanhai.

The total number of enemy forces exceeded three hundred thousand, but their leader was not a tribal chief or soone from Yan State.

It was a noble from Great Qin!

The reason these tribes dared to unleash the storm of rebellion was precisely because they had the backing of Great Qin.

Great Qin not only provided money and equipnt but also dispatched skilled warriors and military officers to assist and command the operations of this rebel army.

Their primary target was to seize Hanhai Taoist Palace, aiming to destroy the remains of Wu Zhao, the revered National Master in the hearts of the people of Great Zhou!

After taking down Hanhai Taoist Palace, the rebel army would then capture Hanhai City, and continue to stir up trouble in the southwestern region of Great Zhou, thus restraining Wu Zhao and Ling Zhiyuan in the north.

It must be said, this strategy is quite vicious.

Great Qin could utilize the remaining power of Yan State to bring serious trouble to Great Zhou.

But what they did not anticipate was that Wang Chen had actually resurrected!

“Thank goodness you ca back in ti.”

Xi Yun revealed a faint smile: “This humble one thought she would never see you again in this lifeti.”

She finished the words she hadn’t completed earlier, then contentedly held Wang Chen’s hand and pressed it against her face.

With affection, Wang Chen lowered his head and kissed her forehead, saying, “Rest well, I will take care of everything from now on.”

“Hmm.”

Xi Yun nodded and yawned.

Her injuries had not yet healed, and her body was very weak; speaking so much had already exhausted her.

After a mont, she had fallen into a deep sleep.

Wang Chen sat beside her for a long ti before carefully withdrawing his hand.

Being unemotional does not necessarily make one a hero, how can one not be a husband if he pities his wife!

It was not by choice that he didn’t want to leave Xi Yun in the Cangqing Domain.

But to take Xi Yun with him to ascend to the Upper Realm, Wang Chen must advance to the Nascent Soul Great Realm and gain deeper control of this world.

One step at a ti.

When Wang Chen stepped out of the room, a group of people standing in the corridor outside promptly saluted: “National Master!”

“No need for such formalities!”

Wang Chen waved his hand impatiently and pointed at a few Taoist nuns, saying, “You are responsible for taking good care of the Great Heavenly Master. Report anything to promptly.”

The Taoist nuns quickly bowed their heads: “Yes.”

Wang Chen then said to the General who brought him here, “Let’s go, we are heading to Hanhai City.”

The General showed an excited expression: “At your command!”

Even though the defense forces at the Taoist Palace were almost crippled, with only a few hundred soldiers fit for battle,

Having witnessed Wang Chen single-handedly defeating thousands with divine prowess, he saw no issue with Wang Chen’s command.

He even felt an imnse excitent!

Wang Chen then took out a pill bottle and handed it to a nearby female doctor: “This contains Healing Pills, dissolve one Pill in a vat of water for all injured to drink.”

After a pause, he added, “Those with severe injuries should drink more!”

Even if the properties of the Pill are suppressed by the world’s rules, a Spirit Pill from the Haotian Realm is not sothing ordinary people can withstand.

Now that Xi Yun is of the Great Heavenly Master’s cultivation level, it’s okay for her to take one, but the soldiers must dilute it before use.

The female doctor received the pill bottle with hands trembling in reverence: “At your command.”

Wang Chen nodded slightly, then left the side hall with the General.

He delegated the task of organizing manpower to the General, while he himself climbed up to the palace wall to observe the situation at Hanhai City.

Whoo~

No sooner had Wang Chen gotten up there than the mournful, deep sound of a horn carried from afar.

The enemy forces besieging Hanhai City began to retreat.
