"Young Master Lu, you must be Young Master Su’s friend, correct?" Seeing Su Xuan look toward her, the young lady of the Su family gave a graceful curtsy. "That Young Master Su who rides the crocodile has already killed my cousin, and you have obtained all of the Ge Family’s assets. Why must you be so rciless as to kill every last one?"

Watching Su Shishi plead for him, Ge Qiulin was filled with imnse gratitude. "Shishi..." He kept looking behind her, hoping to see soone from the Su Family.

If soone from the Su Family had arrived, especially their Old Ancestor, his life would be saved. The Su Family’s Old Ancestor was also a Longevity Realm cultivator, one of the Five Longevity Elders of Huashui City. But his hopes were quickly dashed. There was no one behind Su Shishi; she had co alone.

"Heh." Su Xuan chuckled lightly, ignoring Su Shishi’s question. He turned and continued walking until he stood before the trembling, kneeling Ge Qiulin. Reaching out, Su Xuan straightened the man’s collar and said softly, "Old Ge, we’re strangers, and I’m not a bloodthirsty man. You don’t have to be afraid. You just need to leave all your family assets behind and get out of Hua Shui City."

"Yes, yes!" As if granted a full pardon, Ge Qiulin nodded vigorously. He scrambled to his feet, gesturing for his servants to present the already-gathered wealth for Su Xuan to inspect.

"Thank you, Young Master." Su Shishi walked up to Su Xuan and curtsied again, acting as if he had genuinely spared Ge Qiulin because of her plea.

Then, her voice turned as cold as ice as she addressed him by his full na. "Ge Qiulin. From this day forward, the Su Family has nothing to do with you. Do not set foot in our ho again. We will not offer you the slightest bit of support."

Hearing this, Ge Qiulin felt as if he’d been plunged into a cavern of ice. He had originally thought that even though his family’s fortune was lost, he could still rely on the Su Family as a powerful backer. He wouldn’t have to live too miserably in the future. But now, after what Su Shishi had said...

"Shishi, is this your decision, or..." Ge Qiulin couldn’t help but ask.

"It is the mutual wish of my father and mother," Su Shishi replied coldly. She then pointed a delicate finger toward the Ge estate’s gate. "Do you need to help Young Master Lu see you out?"

"There’s no need!" Ge Qiulin’s face was ashen. He picked up the body of the Ge Family’s Old Ancestor and walked dejectedly toward the main gate.

The household staff and servants followed him out. The servants were filled with regret. If we hadn’t helped Ge Qiulin oppose Su Xuan just now, would he have let us stay? Then we wouldn’t have to leave like stray dogs, would we?

"Hold on," Su Xuan called out suddenly. "Where is Tang Fu’s daughter?"

Finding her was one of the tasks for his trip. At the sa ti, he had to secretly praise Su Shishi’s performance. This girl is an incredibly pragmatic person! The mont she saw I was in a position of power and the Ge Family was finished, she completely changed her tune to curry favor with . And here I was, thinking she was so sentintal girl!

"Tang Fu’s daughter?" Ge Qiulin was stunned. "I haven’t seen her. I haven’t seen her since her father... left the city."

"Young Master Lu," Su Shishi said, giving Su Xuan a charming smile. Her voice was soft. "I know Tang Fu’s daughter. In fact, I’ve already brought her to the Su Family estate. I was wondering if you have ti tonight. Perhaps you could join us for a simple al? You could take her with you when you leave."

"Oh?" Su Xuan gave Su Shishi a deep look. "Thank you for that. But could you perhaps just send her over here?"

"Does Young Master Lu look down on our Su Family?" Su Shishi asked, her tone designed to evoke pity.

"Not at all." Su Xuan spread his hands, gesturing at the wealth strewn across the ground. "I still have to count all this money. If it cos up short, I’ll have to go find Old Ge and get the rest!"

PFFT! Su Shishi couldn’t help but be amused by his words. "In that case, please wait for ."

With that, she curtsied to Su Xuan once more before departing. As she left, she glanced at the white horse and praised, "So beautiful! If only I could have a ride on it!" She even thoughtfully closed the main gate for him.

*Phew.* Once he was finally alone, Su Xuan let out a breath and murmured, "Finally, so peace and quiet."

He had never denied his connection to the other "Su Xuan." Let them speculate wildly. Still, there’s one thing I can’t figure out. Why is the Su Family so eager to get on my good side right after I took over the entire Ge Family? What’s going on? Have I sohow shown that I have the backing of so formidable power?

Since he couldn’t figure it out, Su Xuan didn’t dwell on it. He glanced at the fortune scattered on the ground but didn’t bother to take stock. How was he supposed to know how much wealth the Ge Family actually had? With a simple wave of his hand, he swept all of the Ge Family’s assets into his sachet space, giving his personal treasury a nice boost.

He had to marvel at his cheat-like life. It was impossible to just live an ordinary, quiet life!

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! Suddenly, there was a knock at the gate.

"It’s not locked. Co in," Su Xuan said, his gaze fixed on the gate.

He didn’t ask who it was because he didn’t need to. His eyes could now see right through the solid gate, revealing the person’s appearance outside. My eyes have beco even more terrifying after reaching the Longevity Realm! To put it in terms that are both exaggerated and true, I can even see the color of the undergarnts Su Shishi is wearing beneath her dress! I can also see a small red mole on her chest, right below her heart. I saw all that in the brief instant I turned to look at her.

SQUEAK! The gate opened, and a brawny man in silver armor strode inside.

"Young Master Lu, I am Yuan Dafeng, the City Commander of Hua Shui City," the man announced, his voice resonating with power. "I heard you ca on your brother’s behalf to seek justice from the Ge Family. I ca to pay my respects and see if I can be of any assistance."

He didn’t even bother to ask if this Lu Dachun was actually associated with the Su Xuan who killed Ge Yuzhe; he simply assud their relationship was a fact.

"Hm?" This only made Su Xuan more confused. Why is soone of his status coming to curry favor with instead of pursuing the ’Su Xuan’ who committed murder? What in the world is going on? This whole situation is completely baffling!

"Commander Yuan, you’re too kind," Su Xuan said, testing the waters. "My brother has a fiery temper. After being set up, he naturally wanted to get justice for himself. It’s just not convenient for him to co to Hua Shui City again, so I ca in his place."

"And what a grand entrance you’ve made!" Yuan Dafeng continued, not pursuing the issue of the other Su Xuan at all. He praised, "While the Ge Family wasn’t the most powerful clan in Hua Shui City, they were far from insignificant. Yet with a single move, you had them wiped from the city’s map. I’m truly impressed!"

"Er..."

"Young Master Lu, we’ve thoroughly investigated your brother’s incident. It was Ge Yuzhe who set him up, attempting to steal your brother’s Golden Crocodile mount. He deserved to die! You can tell your brother he is welco back in Hua Shui City at any ti. There will be no trouble! Ge Yuzhe was a scourge on this city; your brother did everyone a great service!"

"Er..."

"Young Master Lu, I have also disciplined my own n. Those who accepted bribes from Ge Yuzhe and acted improperly have been dealt with accordingly."

"My brother also ntioned a man nad Tang Fu. Was he also frad by Ge Yuzhe?" Su Xuan asked.

"Tang Fu can return at any ti as well. There will be no issues!"

At this point, Yuan Dafeng suddenly lowered his voice. "Young Master Lu, please don’t read too much into this.

"Everything I’ve done has been according to the City Lord’s wishes..."
