"Stop crying. You’re acting like a child."

Seeing Qi Li shed tears, Su Xuan tilted his head and remarked, then got up and walked to the balcony to gaze down.

Jiang Guinong hadn’t escaped far. The mont he leaped from the building, he was intercepted by two red-armored figures.

"Damn it!" Jiang Guinong stood below, glaring at the two figures and cursing inwardly before swinging a punch at the shorter one.

The short, red-armored figure didn’t dodge. Gripping his sword with both hands, he slashed down fiercely!

Jiang Guinong imdiately sidestepped the slash, his fist changing into a knife-hand strike aid at the short figure’s throat.

The short figure ignored the attack, instead bending his elbow and ramming it toward Jiang Guinong’s chest.

THUD!

THUD!

Two muffled impacts sounded out.

Jiang Guinong’s knife-hand successfully struck the short, red-armored figure’s throat, but the man rely tilted his head back slightly, completely unhard.

Jiang Guinong, however, was struck squarely in the chest and sent flying backward.

THUMP!

He slamd hard into the building’s wall. Before he could slide down, the taller red-armored figure suddenly flicked his wrist, throwing his longsword as if to pin him to the wall!

Jiang Guinong’s expression changed drastically. Enduring the sharp pain in his chest, he slapped the wall with his palm and sprang away, fleeing into the distance.

CLANG!

The longsword stabbed deep into the wall, its hilt quivering.

The tall, red-armored figure blurred, moving with astonishing speed to catch up with the fleeing Jiang Guinong. He grabbed one of Jiang Guinong’s legs and ruthlessly smashed him into the ground!

THUD!

Jiang Guinong slamd onto the pavent, spiderweb cracks spreading across the surface.

At the sa ti, the short, red-armored figure leaped high into the air and stomped down hard on Jiang Guinong, deepening the cracks in the ground!

PUFF!

Jiang Guinong coughed up a mouthful of blood, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot.

The tall figure hoisted Jiang Guinong up by one leg, leaving him hanging upside down.

The short one raised his broadsword, preparing to bring it down vertically on Jiang Guinong. The move was clearly intended to cut him in half.

"That’s enough," Su Xuan called down from the balcony. "Don’t dirty the ground. Bring him up."

Although his face remained calm, his heart was deeply shaken. He had fought Jiang Guinong once and knew his strength, yet in front of his two red-armored figures, the man had been powerless, utterly defeated without even a chance to flee! He had truly struck gold! These two were easily worth an entire squad of bodyguards!

THUMP!

Jiang Guinong was brought upstairs by the two figures and thrown down in front of Su Xuan.

"Were you poisoned by him?" Su Xuan glanced at Jiang Guinong, then spoke to Qi Li, who was still lying on the floor.

"Yes." The fresh air had helped Qi Li regain so lucidity. "Please, could you search him and see if he has the antidote?"

"Alright." Su Xuan began to pat down Jiang Guinong, eventually pulling out an embroidered pouch. Opening it, he saw round pills of various colors and scents. "Do you know which color the antidote is?" he asked Qi Li.

"It should be the green one," Qi Li replied.

"Here." Su Xuan offered the green pill to her, but she was still unable to move on her own, barely able to lift her arms.

Su Xuan had no choice but to bring the pill to her lips.

Qi Li’s cheeks flushed as she opened her mouth and swallowed the pill.

The dicine was indeed miraculous. In less than a minute, Qi Li managed to sit up on her own.

"Thank you, Su Xuan!" Having narrowly escaped death, Qi Li imdiately thanked him, though her tone was sowhat unnatural. She couldn’t act too natural; after all, they weren’t on the sa side.

"No need for thanks." Su Xuan pocketed the remaining pills, knowing they were valuable, then said to Qi Li coolly, "I only want you to promise one thing: stop troubling Long Xiwén and the others. Around here, we don’t operate on the martial world’s vendettas. We operate on..."

"I know," Qi Li cut him off. "I know you have strict laws and that everything is handled according to them. But I’m not from here. I have to follow the rules from my world..."

"So there’s no room for negotiation, is that it?" Su Xuan couldn’t be bothered to argue further. He took out his phone, about to call Zhong Huilan.

"Su Xuan, wait! I have sothing to ask you," Qi Li said suddenly, raising a hand.

"What is it?" Su Xuan looked at her.

"If I were to kill them, according to your laws, what would be the punishnt?" Qi Li suddenly gazed at Jiang Guinong and his martial nephew, her eyes filled with intense murderous intent.

"The death penalty," Su Xuan shrugged.

"Can you give a sword?" Qi Li looked at the weapon in the red-armored warrior’s hand.

"You’d rather die than let them live?" Su Xuan asked.

"Yes," Qi Li said. "They wanted to... subject to *that* kind of humiliation... Killing them is the only way to vent my rage!"

Su Xuan gave her a long, hard look.

Then he glanced at the tall, red-armored figure. "Ah Hui, give her the sword."

With a flick of his wrist, the tall figure tossed the sword to Qi Li.

Qi Li caught the heavy blade, but she looked at Su Xuan hesitantly. "Are you really letting kill them?"

Su Xuan sidestepped the question. "Over here, killing in self-defense isn’t a capital cri. Let’s just pretend I haven’t arrived yet, and that these two are in the middle of assaulting you. So... you can handle them however you see fit."

With that, Su Xuan walked toward the door, thoughtfully closing it behind him for her.

His orders from Zhong Huilan tonight regarding Jiang Guinong and his nephew were "dead or alive." He could easily do Qi Li a favor. Now it was up to her whether she’d accept it. This was also the last chance he was giving her. As for the lives of those two, he couldn’t care less. They had tried to kill him, so why should he care? He wasn’t so bleeding-heart saint. His principle was simple: I don’t bother those who don’t bother . But if soone cos for , they’d better watch out.

Once the door was shut, Qi Li walked over to Jiang Guinong, sword in hand, and raised it high.

"Dream on, if you think you can use to threaten my father and usurp my Floating Cloud Sect!"

Before her words even faded, the sword fell!

Its tip pierced directly through Jiang Guinong’s heart and sank into the floorboards.

Jiang Guinong woke instantly from his stupor. His eyes widened as he saw Qi Li holding the sword, then his legs kicked a few tis, and he breathed his last.

Qi Li pulled the sword free and walked over to the well-dressed beast who had once tried so desperately to win her over.

She had thought he genuinely liked her, that all his actions ca from a place of true affection. She could never have imagined that flirting with her was just his mission—part of a grand conspiracy against her father and her sect! He deserved to die just as much!

"Junior Sister Qi Li, please, spare !" The man was also awake but, without the antidote, was still immobilized. He pleaded with her, his voice trembling with terror.

"Don’t bother being human in your next life. You’re not worthy!"

Qi Li’s sword rose and fell once more.

Having ended both their lives, Qi Li stared blankly at the blood spreading across the floor.

Now her Floating Cloud Sect and the Spirit-Taming Sect were mortal enemies.

She suddenly felt weary. She called toward the door.

"Su Xuan."

"Are you still there?"

"I have sothing I want to tell you..."
