"The world below the mountains is more formidable than I imagined!" Wei Junhao exclaid in admiration, looking at the drones in the sky and the vehicle that seed to be clad in iron armor.

But the vehicle was just an ard escort truck from a security company, and drones were a common sight to the average person. Neither was anything out of the ordinary.

RUMBLE! The ard escort truck suddenly accelerated, belching Dark Smoke as it charged toward Wei Junhao.

The alley was narrow, leaving him little space to evade. With no intention of picking a fight with the truck, he took a deep breath, vaulted over a two-ter-high wall, and fled.

"Did this guy practice high jump?"

"How can he jump two ters high?"

The security guard behind the wheel was dumbfounded. He picked up his walkie-talkie, reported the situation to nearby units, and backed the truck out of the alley.

After leaping over the wall, Wei Junhao ducked onto a small, tree-lined path. The canopy barely shielded him from the spotlights of the drones above. He had only taken a few steps when he abruptly saw figures appear at both ends of the path, brandishing weapons as they ran toward him.

Wei Junhao frowned. Spotting the entrance to a residential complex a few ters ahead, he quickly rushed inside. The mont he entered, a man appeared before him and swung a fist at his face. It was Chen Yuesheng from Shenfeng Security!

"You’re pushing too far!" Enraged at being repeatedly cornered, Wei Junhao sidestepped slightly to evade Chen Yuesheng’s punch while simultaneously striking his chest with an open palm.

THWACK!

Like a sandbag, Chen Yuesheng was sent flying backward, crashing into a row of bicycles. But he imdiately perford a kip-up, a conflicted expression on his face as he got to his feet and walked toward Wei Junhao.

This is the first ti I’ve ever been at a disadvantage during an ambush. I’m only unscathed because I’m wearing a thick bulletproof vest. Su Xuan had warned over the phone to be cautious, saying the person we were after was extraordinary. But Su Xuan had said we were capturing a woman, not a man. This guy is clearly no amateur. If it weren’t for the vest, I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to get back up.

The scene that followed resembled a pack of cats trying to corner a vicious rat. No matter where Wei Junhao ran, mbers of Shenfeng Security were there to pursue and intercept him.

This gave Wei Junhao a skewed perception of the so-called "world below the mountains." This place is terrifying, he thought. Take Su Xuan, for instance. He relied on pure physical strength to defeat Qi Li’s senior martial brother, a man who specialized in physical cultivation! Then, by so unknown ans, he destroyed my ancestral Protective Dharma Treasure! And these people from Shenfeng Security... after I knock them down, most of them get right back up and continue the chase. They’re incredibly tough! But it’s their equipnt that’s giving the most trouble. The drones in the sky are like hawks, locking onto my position and leaving nowhere to run.

Fortunately, none of them are carrying guns. That’s what I fear most.

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, a bullet grazed Wei Junhao’s leg.

Wei Junhao, hopping across the rooftops, scanned his surroundings but couldn’t spot the shooter.

"Chief Zhong, should we continue firing?" a sniper asked from his concealed position on a tall rooftop.

"Continue!" Zhong Huilan ordered firmly from a police car parked on the side of the road.

In fact, tonight’s capture operation wasn’t just Su Xuan’s idea; Zhong Huilan was also involved. The attempted murder of Long Xiwén had enraged the normally mild-mannered Director, and she was determined to bring the culprit to justice. She was also surprised. Tonight’s troublemaker isn’t the icy woman, but a man who looks like he walked off the set of a costu drama. And that hulking man we caught still hasn’t said a word. I have no idea who these people are.

ZIP! ZIP!

A hail of bullets flew toward Wei Junhao.

Wei Junhao dodged left and right, no longer daring to escape across the rooftops. He dropped back to ground level, where he repeatedly clashed with the n from Shenfeng Security. At the sa ti, another large, fully ard squad carrying riot shields was rapidly closing in on him.

After knocking down another three or four n from Shenfeng Security, Wei Junhao burst into a vegetable market, gasping for breath. The market was deserted at this hour, with only rows of empty stalls remaining. He dove for cover beneath one of them.

His face was filled with regret. I shouldn’t have done this. I can’t believe I put myself in this much danger just to stand up for Qi Li. He looked at his arm. A bullet had torn through his sleeve, leaving a bleeding scratch on his skin. The sniper hiding in the shadows wasn’t trying to kill at first, only aiming for my legs. But after missing so many tis, their shots started climbing higher. Now they’re aiming for my head!

THUD, THUD, THUD...

The sound of footsteps approached from all directions, then suddenly stopped.

Damn it, Wei Junhao thought. I’m surrounded.

CLANG!

A rusty iron rod suddenly poked the ground right beside him.

"Hey!" A smiling face peered under the stall. "Co on out. Tis have changed. You can’t escape."

"It’s you!" Wei Junhao recognized the face. It was Su Xuan.

"Honestly, I’m impressed," Su Xuan said with a warm smile. "You managed to evade our dragnet for a full hour. Are you Spider-Man or sothing?"

Wei Junhao clenched his fists, his mind racing.

Su Xuan didn’t press him. "Look," he said calmly, "it’s in your best interest to co out and surrender. If you do, I can guarantee you’ll live. But if you keep resisting, they’ll have no choice but to shoot you."

"...Fine." After a mont’s hesitation, Wei Junhao finally nodded.

Dejectedly, he crawled out from under the stall and got a close look at Su Xuan, who stood tall and handso, holding a staff that looked like the Ruyi Jingu Bang. He was outrageously charismatic.

The only reason I’m listening to him is because he’s so handso, Wei Junhao thought. If he had a shifty, monkey-like face, I’d rather take him down with than fall into a trap. What if he’s just luring out to have shot?

The mont Wei Junhao stood up, a fully ard squad surrounded him. He wisely raised his arms, showing he would not resist.

"I’ll rember you!" Wei Junhao declared, looking at Su Xuan as his hands were cuffed.

Su Xuan simply shrugged.

After Zhong Huilan’s officers took Wei Junhao away, Su Xuan chatted with Chen Yuesheng and Zhong Huilan in the market for a few monts before they all went their separate ways.

However, Su Xuan soon returned to the vegetable market, stopping in front of the stall where Wei Junhao had been hiding. He patted the stall and smiled. "You can co out now!"

A small figure crawled out from under the stall and grinned at Su Xuan. "He really did hide sothing good under there..."
