"How am I a tily blessing?" Su Xuan asked, puzzled by the man’s words.
"Boss, it’s like this," said Zhao Yuansi, the CEO of Huatian Heavy Industry. "Our company ran into so trouble, and the other shareholders wanted out. They started dumping their shares, and the company was on the verge of collapse. Then you appeared just in ti and bought the whole thing. Aren’t you a tily blessing?"
"Er..." Su Xuan was stunned. So the system had given him a company on the verge of bankruptcy! How dishonest!
"CEO Zhao, what kind of trouble did the company run into?" Su Xuan asked imdiately.
"You don’t know about that?" Zhao Yuansi was also taken aback.
"I don’t," Su Xuan said frankly. What could he possibly know? If the system hadn’t awarded him this company, he never would have even known it existed!
"Then, Boss, why did you acquire our company?" Zhao Yuansi’s voice was filled with astonishnt.
"Can’t I acquire it just for fun?" Su Xuan retorted.
"You’re truly magnanimous, Boss!" Zhao Yuansi flattered.
"Cut the small talk. What exactly happened?" Su Xuan demanded.
"Boss, please don’t be scared when you hear this." Zhao Yuansi gave him a warning before lowering his voice. "Our infrastructure departnt took on a tunnel excavation project at Zhuilong Mountain, a hundred kiloters from the city. The project went smoothly at first, but people started dying when the tunnel was halfway done. One person died every day. After five or six people died, we suspended the project."
"How did they die?" Su Xuan asked.
"The cause of death is unknown," Zhao Yuansi replied.
"How can the cause of death be unknown?"
Su Xuan was completely bewildered. Five or six people were dead, yet the company still didn’t know how? What kind of company was this? How had it managed to build such a high market value? This all seed incredibly shady!
"Because we never found them!" Zhao Yuansi’s voice was still a whisper, his tone sounding particularly eerie. "The people who died... they just vanished inside the tunnel. No bodies were ever found, so we couldn’t determine the cause of death!"
"Impossible!" Su Xuan scratched his head, tempted to just hang up on Zhao Yuansi. A tunnel isn’t a black hole. How could soone die in there and not be found?
"And it’s not just the bodies that are missing!" Zhao Yuansi continued. "After we halted construction, our shareholders started having problems too. One shareholder died in an accidental car crash, and another had a sudden heart attack. He’s still lying in the ICU right now!"
"CEO Zhao," Su Xuan said, "did you call after you’d been drinking?"
"No, I haven’t had a drop in days," Zhao Yuansi replied.
"Then keep talking," Su Xuan said.
"Boss, don’t you also find this incredibly bizarre?" Zhao Yuansi’s voice beca even more chilling. "All the shareholders were terrified they would be next. They started selling off and transferring their shares to sever all ties with the company. That’s when you suddenly appeared and acquired the company with a full buyout..."
"Alright, that’s enough!" Su Xuan cut him off, his tone becoming very serious. "CEO Zhao, investigate the cause properly. See if there’s a gas leak, groundwater infiltration, or so other similar issue in the tunnel. Stop making everything sound so strange and mysterious. I’m giving you three days to deal with this. Give a report in three days. Goodbye!"
After hanging up, Su Xuan rubbed his forehead in frustration. What a ss. It’s completely unscientific! Even Zhai Defeng’s Sorcerer knew to use scents to disorient people!

Su Xuan’s phone chid with a new text ssage from Zhao Yuansi. The ssage contained only a single sentence:
`Boss, you’re the company’s top leader now. Please be careful!`
This made Su Xuan give another bitter smile. He wondered if he should rush over to Huatian Heavy Industry and give Zhao Yuansi a piece of his mind.
He started the car and headed off, not toward Huatian Heavy Industry. He wanted to see a movie. He wanted to see the movie he was in! He also texted Su Zimo, asking her to et him at Ye Qianqian’s movie theater. He hadn’t seen Ye Qianqian in a long ti and wondered how she was doing.
「About half an hour later,」
He arrived at Ye Qianqian’s movie theater.
"Ah, Brother Su Xuan!" The mont she saw him, Ye Qianqian threw herself into his arms without a hint of awkwardness.
She didn’t need to be. If Su Xuan hadn’t climbed that skyscraper to save her, she’d be dead. There was no need for formality with the person who saved your life.
"You’ve lost weight," Su Xuan said as she slid off him. "Haven’t you been eating well lately?"
"You’re the only one who cares! Everyone else says I’ve gotten fat!" Ye Qianqian pouted. "Ever since I took over my father’s theater, I’ve been swamped. I barely have any ti to eat or have fun. I honestly just want to sell this place!"
"Haha, you should learn from , then." Su Xuan patted Ye Qianqian’s head with a smile. "I’m managing over a dozen companies, but I still eat and drink just fine. You need to find a good work-life balance!"
"Over a dozen companies? Really?" Ye Qianqian hadn’t had a chance to keep up with Su Xuan recently. How could she know that he was a completely different person from the one she first t? Back then, all he had was a hotel and a Koenigsegg.
"I wouldn’t gain anything from lying to you." Su Xuan glanced around. "Hasn’t Zimo arrived yet?"
"She said she’s a little busy today and will be late." Ye Qianqian glanced toward the theater entrance before turning back to Su Xuan. "By the way, Brother Su Xuan, why did you act in another movie? A new one was just released with you in it. I’ve already seen it several tis! I can’t get enough of it!"
"Is it really that good?" Su Xuan smiled.
"To be honest, the movie itself isn’t great. Your part, though, is so brilliant that it’s the highlight of the entire film!"
Just as Ye Qianqian finished speaking, a few people who had just co out of a screening walked over and surrounded Su Xuan.
"Hey, aren’t you the actor who played the herdsman?" one person asked.
"You’re even more handso in person!" another exclaid.
"Are you here for a promotional event?"
"Can I get your autograph?"
"Can we take a picture together?"
They started thrusting various items at him to sign while crowding next to him, snapping photos with their phones. The sudden attention made Su Xuan quite uncomfortable.
At the sa ti, three n in face masks appeared nearby. Their eyes swept over Su Xuan, and they exchanged a look.
"That’s him, no doubt," one whispered.
"Wait for an opportunity to make a move," another said.
"Don’t let him leave here alive."
"Understood. Don’t let him leave here alive."
