"Huh, why isn’t Manager Su in the room?" Jin Yan led a group of pyramid sche leaders to Su Xuan’s room, only to find it empty.
"Jin Yan, is this Manager Su of yours reliable or not?" Chang Sasha asked, a look of disappointnt on her face when she couldn’t see Su Xuan. She was envious and jealous of him, but at the sa ti, she saw him as her role model. After all, his performance was truly inspiring.
"He might have gone to the other offices to collect and summarize performance data," Jin Yan guessed after a mont. "So many people have joined us these past two days that we’ve had to rent several apartnts in this complex as offices. Even I have to constantly move between them."
"Then let’s just wait." Chang Sasha sat on the large bed Su Xuan had slept in and, for so reason, sniffed the air. She could have sworn the scent on the bed was familiar.
Just as her suspicions were aroused, Heizi walked silently into the room. He closed the door, quietly lit a cigarette, and began to smoke while leaning against the doorfra.
"Jin Yan, tell him to smoke outside! I can’t stand the sll!" Chang Sasha said to Jin Yan, furrowing her brow.
"Brother Hei, why are you smoking in Manager Su’s room?" Jin Yan asked Heizi. "You can just smoke outside!"
"I’ll smoke here," Heizi said, still blocking the door without any intention of moving. "There are people everywhere outside."
"Jin Yan, you can’t even manage one of your own subordinates?" Chang Sasha fanned the air in front of her nose, looking displeased. "If he were in my branch, I’d have him in solitary confinent for three days!"
She assud that after she said this, Jin Yan would surely take a stricter tone with Heizi. But to her surprise, Jin Yan didn’t try to persuade him again. Instead, she walked over to the window, opened it, and said, "Sasha, why don’t you co sit over here by the window?"
Chang Sasha couldn’t help but feel a flash of anger. She opened her mouth to say sothing but suddenly noticed that Heizi had taken out a knife. He was now smoking while nonchalantly cleaning his fingernails with it.
"Alright," Chang Sasha said imdiately. "I’ll wait for Manager Su by the window!"
She was beginning to understand why Jin Yan didn’t dare to be strict with Heizi. One of the downsides of this line of work was that the quality of the mbers varied wildly. There was even a fugitive in her own group who spoke harshly to everyone. If anyone offended him, he would threaten to stab their entire family. This Heizi was probably the sa kind of person.
"Don’t sit down," Heizi said suddenly, just as she was about to move. "Take out your phone and give it to ."
He then looked at Jin Yan. "Yours too."
"Brother Hei, what is this about?" Not only was Chang Sasha stunned, but Jin Yan was also completely bewildered. Heizi was a core mber here. Surely, he wasn’t planning to steal their phones to sell for cash?
"Cut the nonsense," Heizi said, holding out his hand to them. "You’ll find out in a mont."
The two won had no choice but to ekly hand their phones over.
"Now, both of you, go wait outside." Heizi took their phones and opened the door.
"Oh my god!"
"What is going on?!"
"What in the world is happening?!"
When Chang Sasha and Jin Yan walked into the living room, the scene that greeted them left them utterly flabbergasted. All the visiting pyramid sche leaders were squatting on the floor, holding their heads in their hands, too scared to even look up. They were being controlled by a group of shirtless, tattooed n who were also holding knives.
Jin Yan was even more shocked than Chang Sasha. Those tattooed n were her own people! They were all hardworking mbers. How could they suddenly do sothing like this?
Just then, Su Xuan ca down from the rooftop with Su Zimo. After entering the living room, he swept a cool gaze over the subdued leaders and said to Cen Haonan with a smile, "Brother Cen, you certainly work fast."
With a cigarette dangling from his lips, Cen Haonan replied nonchalantly, "These guys are cowards. They got scared the second we pulled out the knives."
Su Xuan asked, "Are all their phones collected?"
Cen Haonan glanced at the floor. "They’re all here."
A large pile of cell phones lay on the ground, all belonging to the leaders.
"You’ve worked hard, Brother Cen," Su Xuan said in thanks, then crouched down to inspect the phones.
Su Zimo quickly fild the scene, fighting the urge to laugh. Of all the people to provoke, why did this bunch have to pick Su Xuan? Now look at them, caught in one fell swoop! Still, the founder of the organization was still at large. She would have to see how Su Xuan planned to handle things next.
"Su... Su Xuan!" Chang Sasha, of course, recognized him instantly. Her heart pounded with an indescribable shock as she grabbed Jin Yan’s arm and shook it frantically.
"He’s not the ’Su Xuan’ you think he is!" she kept repeating. "His na is Su Xuan, and he’s worth at least a hundred million! He owns a supercar worth over a hundred million yuan! A single piece of his clothing costs hundreds of thousands! The watch on his wrist is worth tens of millions! He’s a bona fide multimillionaire! There’s no way he’d be involved in a pyramid sche!"
Her words buzzed in the air, shocking the fragile minds of every low-level leader present. They couldn’t help but look up at Su Xuan. A multimillionaire! He was the embodint of the person they all dread of becoming! Most of them had never even seen a multimillionaire before, and now here was a living, breathing one right in front of them. As for the founder of their organization, Zhai Dean, he was rumored to be worth over a hundred million too, but he was always elusive, and they rarely had any contact with him.
Jin Yan and An Mianmian, however, were incredulous. Wasn’t Su Xuan a Didi driver? He drove an electric car worth a little over a hundred thousand yuan. They had personally recruited him. How could a man like that be a multimillionaire?
Jin Yan nudged Chang Sasha’s arm. "Are you sure you haven’t mistaken him for soone else?"
"I would never mistake him," Chang Sasha said with absolute certainty. "He’s more handso than any damn superstar. One look at him and I’d never forget him for the rest of my life. How could I possibly be mistaken?!"
Jin Yan found herself completely agreeing with that reasoning.
"Then why did he join us?" Jin Yan asked, confused. "Is he working for the police?"
"No!" Chang Sasha said, articulating each word carefully. "He’s Lin Tiancheng’s boyfriend!"
Hearing this, Jin Yan’s mind reeled.
It all beca crystal clear! The multimillionaire Su Xuan had personally infiltrated the pyramid sche to save his girlfriend, even managing to beco a top leader! Damn, that was so touching! And so inspiring! If only she had a boyfriend like that. She rembered how she, too, had been tricked into this business. Her boyfriend at the ti hadn’t cared at all, and they eventually broke up...
"Chang Sasha, hello there," Su Xuan said with a smile, walking up to her.
He had actually spotted her from the rooftop earlier. This imdiately confird his suspicion: Tian Cheng had been tricked into this by an acquaintance. And that acquaintance was Chang Sasha.
"You... hello," Chang Sasha stamred, her voice trembling. She felt incredibly guilty and afraid, wondering how Su Xuan would retaliate...
