The taxi driver who wanted to take a girl ho was imdiately kicked out by the KTV’s attendant. The driver couldn’t understand for the life of him why Su Xuan could take a girl out, but he couldn’t. What’s more, Su Xuan was still in his courier uniform! Wasn’t a taxi driver better than a courier?
「The next morning.」
The sky was a bit gloomy.
"Ah! Another beautiful day!" Su Xuan exclaid as he walked out of his room. He glanced at the few dark clouds floating in the sky and, in his newfound cheerfulness, thought they were rather cute. Ever since he had gotten the System, his once-lancholic inner world had gradually beco more radiant.
Then, he went into the dining room for breakfast. Alice was also sitting at the table, her expression quite somber.
Su Xuan glanced at her. "Have you set a date for your departure yet?"
Alice looked up at him. "Not yet."
"Why are your eyes bloodshot?" Su Xuan asked. "Didn’t you sleep last night?"
"I haven’t been sleeping well lately," Alice admitted. "And... last night, I saw you bring won ho again."
"Haha, those were two of my subordinates from the company," Su Xuan explained. "Their ancestors had so connection to this mansion, so they really wanted to co and have a look."
"Are they from Lycar? Or Kangnai? Or..."
"They’re from TQ Capital Managent on Financial Street," Su Xuan interrupted, puffing his chest out. "I’m TQ’s largest shareholder now. Impressive, right? Haha!" Since Alice wasn’t an outsider, he was more than happy to show off in front of her.
Alice’s delicate little mouth gaped open, as if she were about to say "impressive" at any second. But she quickly changed her tune. "Not impressive at all! Nothing to be so smug about!"
Su Xuan feigned unhappiness. "Just you wait. One day, no matter where you go, you’ll look up and see my businesses all around you. You’ll look down and find yourself standing on my turf. And..."
Alice’s eyes suddenly welled with tears. "And if I call out your na, will you appear?"
Su Xuan fell silent for two seconds before opening his mouth. "I’ll... do my best."
Suddenly, Alice slamd her chopsticks down and threw herself into Su Xuan’s arms. "I really don’t want to leave! I’m so anxious!"
Su Xuan patted her on the back, but just as he was about to comfort her, he felt a sharp pain in his ear. Alice had bitten him again!
"Hahaha!" Alice let go of Su Xuan, ran to the side, and laughed wildly. "Su Xuan, do you know? Once I leave China, I’ll imdiately possess a fortune beyond your wildest imagination. Alice watched his retreating back with a smile, muttering to herself, "Su Xuan, you have to work hard. Don’t wait until I’m old to finally surpass ..."
Just as he was about to leave, Butler Liu suddenly stopped him. "Master, Daniel, the president of Caranda China, just dropped off two articles of clothing for you." With that, he handed two garnts to Su Xuan.
"Oh, these are the custom-made clothes he had the Caranda designers make for . I thought there was only one. He made an extra for . What a guy." Su Xuan took the clothes and glanced toward the main gate. "Where’s Dan now?"
"I saw you were eating and didn’t have ti for guests, so I sent him on his way," Butler Liu replied. "He really wanted to mooch a breakfast off you, though."
"Butler Liu, you’re a badass too!" Su Xuan chuckled. Then, he left, carrying the clothes.
「At the delivery station.」
Lu Dachun was holding a eting in his office.
"Alright, guys, listen up! The higher-ups said that so top brass will be coming to inspect our work in the next couple of days! You all better be on your best behavior and not cause any trouble! If anyone gets a complaint, your bonus for this month is gone! If anyone... ah, Su Xuan, you’re here!"
Lu Dachun suddenly noticed Su Xuan walk in. He was clearly late. If this had been in the past, Lu Dachun would have chewed him out. But now, he was all smiles, acting as if Su Xuan were the one in charge of the station.
"Sorry I’m late," Su Xuan said simply. "I had a few drinks yesterday, so I left my car at a coffee shop. I just went to pick it up." He then sat down, waiting for Lu Dachun to continue.
Instead, Lu Dachun just waved his hand and declared, "eting adjourned."
Once most of the others had left, he sidled up to Su Xuan. "Su Xuan... no, Brother Su, I have a favor to ask you! You can’t leave hanging!"
Su Xuan glanced at him. "You haven’t even said what it is."
"The big bosses from headquarters will be inspecting our station in the next two days," Lu Dachun said. "My promotion depends on this!"
"So?"
"So, when the big bosses get here, can you help ... you know, entertain them?"
"No."
Lu Dachun’s eyes widened. "Su Xuan, after all we’ve been through, you can’t be so heartless!"
"Sucking up to them is out of the question," Su Xuan clarified. "But I can help you host them. That’s fine."
Lu Dachun’s face imdiately lit up. "Brother Su! I knew you wouldn’t let down! If I get this promotion, I’ll be the regional manager, in charge of more than just one station. When that happens, I’ll make you a team lead or sothing. Can’t have you helping for nothing!"
"I’ll be waiting," Su Xuan replied.
A short while later, with Lu Dachun’s eager assistance, Su Xuan loaded his Charman King with a car full of packages and left the delivery station.
「Ten minutes later, at the two-star Jiangfeng Yuhuo Hotel.」
Su Xuan carried a large package weighing about a hundred pounds from his car and headed into the hotel lobby. This delivery was for the hotel. In the past, carrying such a heavy item would have been a struggle for him, but now, it was no problem at all.
"Wow, what a handso delivery guy!"
"He looks just like my future boyfriend!"
A female waitress’s eyes lit up the mont she saw Su Xuan. She imdiately went over to help him with the package.
"Xiao Ying, leave him be!" a stubble-faced man, the lobby manager, snapped. "Let him carry it himself, that’s his job! Besides, aren’t you pregnant?"
"Oh, right, I almost forgot I was pregnant," the waitress, Xiao Ying, said, her face flushing. She turned to the manager. "Why don’t you help him? It looks really heavy."
"What, you think I have nothing better to do?" the manager scoffed. "Is he going to pay for it? I’m not his fath—"
THUMP!
Before the manager could finish his sentence, soone kicked him squarely from behind, sending him sprawling to the floor. Before he could even look up to see who had kicked him, a harsh voice thundered in his ear.
"You dare offend Chairman Su? Pack your things and get the hell out of here, now!"
