Deputy Director Zhou stopped in his tracks upon hearing the phone ring in his office.

"Academician Sun, excuse , I have to take a call."

Deputy Director Zhou quickly made his way back to his office, followed closely by Dean Sun.

"Hello, this is Zhou Sicheng from Xia Country Academy of Sciences. And who is this?"

Zhou Sicheng courteously introduced himself upon answering the phone and asked who the caller was.

After all, it wasn’t a private line, Zhou Sicheng couldn’t tell who was calling.

"Zhou... Vice Director Zhou? This is Principal Ding Yue from Mist City Arts and Science University. You called earlier?"

Ding Yue was sowhat taken aback when he realised he was talking to Vice President Zhou Sicheng from Xia Country Academy of Sciences.

His secretary, Wen Ruohan, only ntioned a call from Xia Science Institution, but never said who it was from. The mont he dialed back and the caller stated his na, Ding Yue was taken aback.

It was Vice President Zhou Sicheng from Xia Country Academy of Sciences.

Ding Yue had learned a bit about Xia Country Academy of Sciences while researching the requirents for his Mist City Arts and Science University to reach Lv3 with regards to national science and technology awards.

He naturally knew of Vice President Zhou Sicheng.

In this parallel world’s Xia Country, the Dean of Xia Country Academy of Sciences was nad Chen Lizhao and the Deputy Dean was Zhou Sicheng. They were once well-known top scientists and now held key positions in the academy.

The Dean and Deputy Dean of Xia Science Institution equated to the positions of a provincial governor and a deputy provincial governor.

Yes, the position of Dean Chen Lizhao was like that of a governor and Zhou Sicheng, the deputy dean, was like a deputy governor.

"So it was Vice Director Zhou who was looking for . What an honor. May I ask what I can do for you, Vice Director Zhou?"

Ding Yue imdiately beca very cordial.

After all, this was a big shot!

And a real big shot at that. Zhou Sicheng was soone Ding Yue deeply respected.

"Principal Ding, yes, yes, I did call your office earlier. You were busy at the ti, and I had so things to attend to as well. Fortunately, I returned in ti and did not miss your call back."

emmmm...

In reality, Secretary Wen Ruohan had dialed dozens of numbers on behalf of Ding Yue until finally, they connected.

"I heard that your Mist City Arts and Science University recently had breakthroughs in the research of graphene battery technology? Is that true?"

Vice President Zhou Sicheng asked.

He made the initial call because he’d received news from the Ministry of Education. He was quite excited to check with the Principal of Mist City Arts and Science University.

However, after hearing Academician Sun’s comnt that the "graphene battery technology" wasn’t necessarily a breakthrough, Vice President Zhou Sicheng wasn’t as excited anymore.

"Yes, it is indeed true. Our energy chemistry team at Mist City Arts and Science University has developed a graphene battery. The lead researcher is my younger sister."

Ding Yue answered truthfully.

Given that the Deputy Dean of Xia Country Academy of Sciences was asking about it, Ding Yue answered truthfully. There was no need to conceal anything. After all, if his sister Ding Xiaoyou’s graphene battery technology could gain official recognition from the Xia Country Academy of Sciences, it would be great news.

They might even have a chance to compete for this year’s National Science and Technology Award.

"Oh, I see. I simply wanted to ask. The research into graphene battery technology is considered advanced, so it’s remarkable to have such results. Your Mist City Arts and Science University should be comnded!"

Given that Vice President Zhou Sicheng was no longer as excited as before, he calmly praised Principal Ding and the energy chemistry team at Mist City Arts and Science University.

Ding Yue felt sothing wasn’t right in how Vice Director Zhou phrased his praise.

It seed a bit off.

Logically speaking, shouldn’t Xia Country Academy of Sciences attach great importance to Mist City Arts and Science University’s developnt of advanced products like a graphene battery?

Yet, Ding Yue could tell from Deputy Director Zhou’s words that that didn’t seem to be the case!

"Thank you for your acknowledgnt, Vice Director Zhou."

Despite his confusion, Ding Yue expressed his gratitude for Vice Director Zhou’s praise.

"The developnt of graphene battery-related technology is still a long way to go. I hope your Mist City Arts and Science University can carry on."

Vice President Zhou Sicheng said again.

"Yes, we definitely will."

"Alright, Principal Ding, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now. Goodbye."

"Goodbye, Vice Director Zhou."

A dial tone followed.

After the call, Ding Yue almost questioned the matter. Was it just to "congratulate" and "encourage" Mist City Arts and Science University for developing graphene batteries?

The graphene battery was a high-tech product that could revolutionize battery power, influencing mobile devices, electric vehicles, aerospace, and many other sectors!

Did the Xia Country Academy of Sciences already develop an impressive graphene battery themselves?

That couldn’t be right.

Ding Yue had never found any relevant information or data about it.

"Principal Ding, what’s wrong?" Secretary Wen Ruohan, curious, asked as she noticed that Ding Yue seed unsettled.

"No... nothing."

Ding Yue responded quietly, despite constantly pondering over what seed off.

Back at the Xia Country Academy of Sciences in Yancheng, Vice Director Zhou resud his conversation with Academician Sun after he finished his call with Ding Yue.
