Urban planning is the responsibility of the Urban Planning Departnt.
But as the mayor of Mist City, Governor Li naturally presided over this matter at the eting. However, it has been quite so ti since then, and it is impossible for Governor Li to monitor the specific progress one hundred percent, so for now Governor Li does not know the exact ti when that factory area will be relocated.
"Secretary Zhang."
Turning his head, Governor Li asked his secretary, "When is the Urban Planning Departnt planning to relocate those factories in the south of the High-tech zone?"
"Governor, we haven’t received any specific updates from the Urban Planning Departnt at the mont, I’ll go and inquire about it now," Secretary Zhang replied.
"Mhm, good."
Governor Li nodded.
Thereupon, Secretary Zhang left the Mayor’s Office and went directly to the Director of the Urban Planning Bureau.
"Principal Ding, while the area has already been planned by the Urban Planning Bureau and the factory zones are being prepared for relocation, if Mist City Arts and Science University is interested in that land, this will require detailed discussions with the Urban Planning Bureau," said Governor Li to Ding Yue.
Hearing what Governor Li said, Ding Yue roughly understood the governor’s intentions.
It surely wouldn’t be possible to simply hand it over with a single word. The plot is definitely crucial for the High-tech zone; whether it is used for other purposes or for establishing a southern campus for Mist City Arts and Science University, negotiations with the Urban Planning Departnt are necessary. After all, the land can’t just be given away simply because one wishes for it, right?
"Well, that is also true," agreed Ding Yue, nodding his head imdiately, concurring with Governor Li’s point.
"Governor, in my opinion, as an important cradle for cultivating high-tech talents, Mist City Arts and Science University fits perfectly with the positioning of the High-tech zone. I think instead of planning sothing else there, it would be more appropriate to establish a new campus for Mist City Arts and Science University," Director Xiao Wenxing directly voiced his opinion at this mont.
"Hahaha, Director Xiao, you always speak frankly and indeed show great concern for Mist City Arts and Science University, but what you’ve said is indeed true, I also value Mist City Arts and Science University highly," Governor Li said to Director Xiao Wenxing with laughter, "But we still have to follow the necessary procedures, I can’t just make a decision on the spot, right? That would turn it into a one-man show, wouldn’t it?"
"Yes, Governor Li is absolutely right," said Director Xiao Wenxing, promptly nodding with a smile.
Seeing this, Ding Yue realized how experienced Director Xiao Wenxing, an "old hand" in governnt positions, was; he had quickly managed to "draw out" Governor Li’s stance with just one sentence.
Initially, Ding Yue suspected that Governor Li’s previous remarks suggested a lack of support, albeit slight, for having Mist City Arts and Science University establish a new campus on that piece of land.
However, Director Xiao Wenxing’s recent comnt had prompted Governor Li to also reveal his stance.
Governor Li was also highly supportive of Mist City Arts and Science University.
With this information, Ding Yue felt much more confident.
Just like Governor Li had just ntioned, the due process must be followed, indeed it is improper to just have Governor Li facilitate everything and make an imdiate unilateral decision, as that would be against certain principles.
Knock, knock, knock!
Knocking sounds ca from the door.
It was Secretary Zhang, who had gone out, returning.
"Governor, Director Liu has said he would co to report to you personally." After entering, Secretary Zhang spoke softly to Governor Li.
"Alright, let Director Liu co in. If there’s anything scheduled for later, if it’s not urgent, let’s postpone it, shall we?" Governor Li nodded and then asked about his schedule.
"Yes, Governor," responded Secretary Zhang, understanding what Governor Li ant. It seems he will be discussing matters here with Director Xiao Wenxing, Director Liu of the Urban Planning Bureau, and Principal Ding of Mist City Arts and Science University. In that case, the subsequent plans of Governor Li could be put on hold, especially since they’re not particularly urgent.
"Governor, Director Xiao is also here, and this must be Principal Ding?"
Upon entering, Director Liu greeted the three individuals.
This was Ding Yue’s first encounter with Director Liu of the Urban Planning Bureau; he seed to recall having seen leaders from the Urban Planning Departnt before, was it soone else?
Had there been a change in personnel perhaps?
"Director Liu, about those factories in the south section of the High-tech zone; what’s the status on the specific timing for relocation and how are the preparations coming along?" Governor Li directly inquired.
"Well, the plan has been laid out; the relocation of the factories in the southern area will start in October, and most of the factories have already settled on relocation sites in the Western Industrial Park," Liu, the Director, answered.
"By the way, Director Liu, how is that piece of land in the south planned by the Urban Planning Departnt? What will it be used for?" Director Xiao Wenxing asked.
Seeing Director Xiao Wenxing asking this, Director Liu had a sense of why Governor Li had invited him today, especially with the presence of Director Xiao Wenxing from the Education Departnt and Principal Ding from Mist City Arts and Science University.
It appears that the City Governnt building had the intention to designate that plot of land for educational purposes, doesn’t it?
"For this plot of land, our current plan is to use it for comrcial developnt in the High-tech zone. Many property developers are actively preparing to secure this parcel," explained Director Liu.
