Chapter 8: Ti to Unleash Skills, Rias

After obtaining what he wanted, Lynn didn’t rush to leave. Instead, he asked Rias about the current situation in the underworld, particularly the movents of the Old Satan Faction.

Even though he felt no sense of belonging to the Walburga family and had no intention of seeking revenge, that surna was bound to bring trouble. Like his engagent with the Sitri family and… the Old Satan Faction’s retaliation.

He had to plan ahead. While recruiting servants and strengthening his power, he also needed to stay vigilant about their movents. The last thing he wanted was to end up like his unfortunate family—wiped out before they even realized the danger.

Ultimately, it all ca down to strength. He needed to speed up the process of gathering followers, and at the very least, push his power to the level of a Satan.

“Since the Walburga extermination, the underworld has intensified its crackdown on the Old Satan Faction. They haven’t surfaced in quite so ti.”

As Rias shared this information, her gaze shifted to Kasumigaoka Utaha, who was scribbling away. That book… It didn’t seem to be a sacred artifact. More likely, it was an ability of hers.

Still… Rias couldn’t help but comnt, “You can take the book with you. It’s not particularly valuable knowledge.”

Lynn took a sip of the tea brewed by Hijima Akeno and responded, “It’s fine. We’d have to copy it down anyway.”

Even after a short period of transcribing, he could already feel his mind filling with intricate techniques on magic manipulation.

More interestingly, he noticed a key difference between his Secretary Demon ability and Utaha’s. While she needed the Demon’s Book to access recorded abilities under normal circumstances, he could use them directly, as if his demonized state was permanently active. It seed that when a servant’s awakened ability transferred to him, he received so additional perks.

Lynn was too focused on experiencing his newfound skills to notice Utaha’s growing frustration.

Almost two thousand pages… Sitting there comfortably, it was easy for him to talk.

The light in her eyes dimd as she imagined the grim future of endless transcribing.

Why did it have to be the Secretary Demon?

Such heavy resentnt…

Rias, noticing her expression, hesitated. Was she really okay?

Lynn caught on as well. Seeing Utaha’s despair, he couldn’t help but chuckle before asking,

“Miss Rias, does this book contain any magic techniques for automatic writing?”

Utaha’s head snapped up, eyes brimming with hope as she turned to Rias.

“Yes,” Rias nodded, thinking for a mont before adding, “I believe it’s around page 130.”

The rustling of pages filled the room instantly.

Lynn took another leisurely sip of tea, basking in his own generosity. He truly was too kindhearted—he couldn’t bear to see his servant suffer.

“I found it!” Utaha exclaid in delight.

Rias chuckled, pleased. “This magic is quite simple. If you learn it now, I could give you so pointers.”

Utaha flashed her a polite smile. “Thank you, but that won’t be necessary, Miss Rias.”

After a quick nod of appreciation, she lowered her head and continued writing in the Demon’s Book.

Rias blinked in mild confusion before glancing at Lynn. Wasn’t the point of asking about this magic to make copying easier? Then why was she still transcribing manually?

She soon got her answer.

“Done!”

Utaha set down her pen, stretched, and released her magic with a look of anticipation.

A faint hum filled the room as the Demon’s Book glowed, its pages lifting slightly. The one containing the “Automatic Writing” spell shimred as a small white magic circle appeared, from which a white quill gracefully materialized.

Success!

Utaha’s heart leaped with joy.

This was real magic!

Even if it was only a minor spell, it was enough to excite her.

“This is…” Rias’ eyes narrowed slightly. It was indeed the Automatic Writing spell, but had she really learned it just by transcribing? Or was the act of copying itself the key?

Her gaze drifted toward the strange book, thoughts racing. After a mont, she smiled.

“An interesting ability.”

“Copying… or perhaps recording?” she mused aloud. “So as long as knowledge is recorded in that book, it can be used.”

Lynn clapped his hands lightly. “As expected of the young lady of House Gremory, you figured out Utaha’s ability so quickly.”

With a small, playful bow, he formally introduced, “Secretary Demon, Kasumigaoka Utaha.”

“Secretary Demon,” Rias murmured, then nodded. “A fitting title.”

Taking a deep breath, she asked tentatively, “I wonder if Mr. Lynn would be willing to share the limits of this ability?”

To record and master everything… If the ability truly reached such an extent, Rias wouldn’t hesitate to classify it as a Sacred Gear.

Lynn propped his chin on his hands, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Limits, huh? I’m not too sure myself. Why don’t you test it, Miss Rias?”

A re collection of basic magic techniques wouldn’t satisfy him. Ti to unleash so skills, young lady of House Gremory.
