Chapter 3: Put That Thing Inside You

Lost Demon? Was that the na of the monster?

“Wait a minute!”

Kasumigaoka Utaha reacted quickly, her voice urgent. “You know what this thing is?”

Lynn nodded.

Hope flickered in her eyes. Could he be a demon hunter? It would make sense. If monsters like the Lost Demon existed, then a demon hunter wasn’t too far-fetched, right? Yes, that had to be it!

She found herself nodding unconsciously.

What is this woman thinking?

Lynn cast her a glance before checking the system panel. It confird that she had the potential to beco a retainer. Kasumigaoka Utaha—though appearing to be an ordinary person—was still an ani character, and with that ca a certain amount of luck.

“Hey, I’ll deal with this thing for you, but you have to promise one thing.”

She hesitated. “What is it?”

Lynn pulled out a demon chess piece. “Let put this inside your body.”

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s eyes widened in shock, her face burning with sha and fury. “Are you even a proper demon hunter?!”

“Demon hunter?”

Lynn shot her a strange look before his lips curled into a grin. “No, I’m a demon.”

“Huh?!”

Her brain short-circuited.

“Food! Food!!”

The Lost Demon, however, wasn’t going to wait for her to process the situation. The stench of decay grew stronger, wrapping around her like an invisible force.

In desperation, she blurted out, “Alright, alright! I agree!!”

“Then the contract is made.”

Lynn raised his arm. A surge of magic burst forth.

Boom!

Scarlet energy spiraled from his right arm, coalescing into a pillar of red light that swallowed the spider-like demon whole. Wind howled through the alley, sending Kasumigaoka Utaha’s dark hair whipping around her face.

“Aaahhh—!”

A wretched scream echoed from the crimson light. A few seconds later, the cries faded, leaving only silence. Lynn lowered his arm, the energy dissipating.

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s lips trembled. “What… what was that?”

“A simple magic release.”

She swallowed hard, her heart pounding.

Is this… is this still Earth?

“The spider monster…”

“It’s dead. If we’re lucky, there might be sothing left of it.”

She exhaled in relief—too soon.

“Now, let’s talk about our business.”

Lynn casually waved the demon chess piece in front of her.

Her stomach twisted. “You… You were serious?”

“Of course. We demons take our contracts very seriously.”

“Heh… hehe…”

Her mouth twitched. Should she run?

The thought crossed her mind for a brief second, but reality crushed it just as quickly. There was no escaping him. She clenched her fists, shutting her eyes tightly as she braced herself.

Just think of it as a mosquito bite. This guy is definitely a pervert. But it’s better than being eaten by that thing. Damn it! Is my first ti really going to be with… a chess piece?! Speaking of which, he might be a pervert, but he’s actually kind of handso—

Ahhh!!

Her mind spiraled into chaos.

When she opened her eyes again, a flicker of determination had replaced her hesitation. Gripping the hem of her skirt, she yanked it up and shouted, “Co on then!!”

What the hell is going on in her head? Are all novelists this imaginative?

Despite his inner complaints, he didn’t look away. If she was offering a show, why waste the opportunity? “Even if you’re seducing , I still have to put it in, you know.”

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s face turned crimson. Grinding her teeth, she snapped, “You’re humiliating on purpose, aren’t you?!”

“Wait—why are you unbuttoning my shirt?!”

Her wine-red eyes burned with fury as she glared at him. “I knew it! A pervert like you wouldn’t be satisfied with just using a prop!”

“Wait—where are you even putting that?!”

“Right here, obviously.”

“That’s not where it goes!”

“Sure it is. It fits perfectly.”

A ripple of red light pulsed from her chest, swallowing the demon chess piece whole.

Lynn looked up. Their gazes t.

“It… really went in?”

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s voice shook.

Lynn frowned. “I think so?”

“You think?!”

She stared at him in disbelief, as if she were looking at the most irresponsible scumbag on the planet.

Lynn shrugged. “It’s my first ti too, I have no experience.”

“You bastard, take responsibility!”

Thump.

Thump-thump.

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s body froze. Her heartbeat slamd against her ribs, her skin burning as an unfamiliar power surged through her.

“What now?”

She barely managed to speak through the overwhelming sensation.

“It should be… the reincarnation ritual?”
