Seeing how awful his father’s expression looked, instead of being afraid, Zhou Jian was secretly delighted. He knew Chairman Zhao and that brat with the surna Ye were about to suffer.

Zhou Jian thought to himself, "Since you dared to ss with , you’d better be prepared to be punished."

Zhou Minghan didn’t press his son for more details. He knew Zhou Jian had already been wronged; making him recount this matter again would be nothing but rubbing salt into his wound.

He picked up his phone and dialed a number.

Although Zhou Jian didn’t see clearly what number it was, he knew it must be a call to Zhao Qing.

At this mont, Zhao Qing was sitting in his office, his face full of joy.

The female assistant beside him saw this and, looking puzzled, asked, "Chairman Zhao, you can still smile? You’ve offended the Zhou Family’s eldest young master. I’m afraid Elder Zhou will definitely co after you."

Zhao Qing pinched the assistant’s cheek with a wicked grin and said, "Baby, what do you know? Compared to Mr. Ye, that Zhou Minghan is nothing at all."

"Huh? What on earth is going on?" The female assistant was a bit shocked when she heard this.

She had heard of Zhou Minghan. He was a big shot who could make the whole Modu tremble three tis with just one stomp of his foot.

But the na Ye Chen was very unfamiliar to her; this was actually the first ti she’d heard it.

Zhao Qing was just about to explain it to his assistant when the phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was from Zhou Minghan. He answered unhurriedly.

"Master Zhou, what can I do for you?" Zhao Qing said with a smile.

"Chairman Zhao, how would I dare tell you what to do? My son got humiliated on your turf, and you actually helped an outsider. You really don’t give , Zhou Mou, any face at all." Zhou Minghan’s voice was icy.

The female assistant could clearly hear the accusation on the other end of the line, and she couldn’t help feeling sowhat nervous.

Zhou Jian, standing to the side, was secretly pleased, thinking that anyone who dared offend him had only one road left—death.

But Zhao Qing smiled and said, "Master Zhou, if you knew who that so-called ’outsider’ actually was, you’d be thanking for everything I did."

Hearing this, Zhou Minghan said in surprise, "So according to you, I should be thanking you now?"

Hearing his father’s words, Zhou Jian hurriedly said from the side, "Dad, Chairman Zhao is the slyest of the sly. He says one thing to your face and another behind your back. Let’s stop working with this kind of person. Move all the money out of his bank."

He was eager to hit the bar and pick up won; he had no ti to listen to them talk. What he wanted was for his father to punish Chairman Zhao quickly and vent his anger for him.

Hearing Zhou Jian’s voice, Zhao Qing knew right away that Zhou Jian must have tattled to Master Zhou.

"Master Zhou, I think you should first ask your esteed son what really happened," Zhao Qing said with a smile.

"There’s no need to ask Little Jian. I want to hear it from you. Tell how it went." Zhou Minghan’s voice was cold.

"Very well, since you insist, I’ll tell you. Young Master Zhou had a conflict with Mr. Ye, and I stepped in to smooth things over." Zhao Qing told Zhou Minghan exactly what had happened, leaving nothing out.

"Little Jian already told all that. What I want to know is why you chose to side with so kid surnad Ye and let my son lose all his face. That’s the sa as slapping my old face hard." The more he spoke, the angrier Zhou Minghan beca.

Zhao Qing could already hear the fury in his voice, so he hurriedly said, "Master Zhou, please calm down. That Mr. Ye is no ordinary person."

"Chairman Zhao, cut the nonsense. Don’t try to confuse my father and shirk your responsibility with this kind of talk." Zhou Jian shouted into the phone when he saw his father remain silent.

He really couldn’t stand Chairman Zhao’s routine anymore. At the bank, Zhao had advised him not to complain; now he was telling his father that this guy surnad Ye was no ordinary person. It was obviously just an attempt to dodge responsibility.

But unlike his son, Zhou Minghan didn’t act on impulse. After pondering for a mont, he said, "Chairman Zhao, who is this Mr. Ye you’re talking about, the one with the surna Ye?"

He felt that Zhao Qing had no reason to lie to him. The person who had clashed with his son was very likely soone even more formidable than he was; that would explain why Zhao Qing had acted the way he did.

Before Zhao Qing could answer, Zhou Jian roared, "Dad, don’t waste ti here listening to his bullshit."

In Zhou Jian’s eyes, his father was already an imnsely powerful figure—rich, influential, and well-connected. How could there possibly be anyone more formidable than his father?

Ignoring his son, Zhou Minghan waited quietly for the answer from the other end of the line.

"Master Zhou, that Mr. Ye is Ye Chen." Zhao Qing said.

"Ye Chen, Ye Chen..." Zhou Minghan kept repeating this na under his breath.

Seeing his father’s reaction, Zhou Jian said, "Dad, you have to avenge . Have that punk called Ye Chen crippled so badly that he never dares ss with again."

"Zhou Jian, shut up." Zhou Minghan yelled at his son.

This was the first ti he had ever heard his father call him by his full na, and Zhou Jian was stunned.

He had no idea why his father’s attitude had completely changed the mont he heard this na. Could it be that Ye Chen really had an extraordinary background?

"Chairman Zhao, I really have to thank you. You saved Little Jian this ti. If he had truly provoked Mr. Ye, even I wouldn’t have been able to save him." Zhou Minghan said gratefully.

"Master Zhou, this is what I should do. You’d better give your esteed son a good talking-to. From now on, he needs to keep a low profile when he’s out and about. He can’t keep using you as his shield, or one day he might bring calamity to your Zhou Family." Zhao Qing reminded him kindly.

"Chairman Zhao, I will. I’ll buy you a drink another day. I happen to have another sum of money I’ll be depositing at your bank—consider it my way of thanking you." Zhou Minghan said with a smile.

Hearing his father’s words, Zhou Jian was about to explode. He had clearly told his father to pull all their money out of that bank, yet after just a few words, it had sohow turned into depositing even more.

"Master Zhou, you’re too kind." Zhao Qing replied with a smile.

Hearing this, the female assistant beside him finally relaxed her previously tense nerves. Now she understood why Zhao Qing wasn’t worried in the slightest after offending Zhou Jian and was even in such a good mood.

She couldn’t help thinking that Zhao Qing was really an old fox; he’d played this hand beautifully. Not only had he cozied up to Ye Chen, he’d also done Master Zhou a huge favor. There would definitely be plenty of benefits in the future.

Just monts ago, the female assistant had still been worried about Zhao Qing’s future, and now she was overjoyed.

"Chairman Zhao, you really are an old fox." the female assistant praised.

"Baby, watch and learn. This is society." Zhao Qing lifted her chin with a wicked smile.

After seeing his father finish the call with Chairman Zhao, Zhou Jian looked baffled and said, "Dad, what’s going on? Didn’t you say you’d stand up for ? How co you ended up thanking Chairman Zhao instead?"

"Of course I have to thank him. If Chairman Zhao hadn’t helped you out, you wouldn’t even know how you died." Zhou Minghan said sternly.

Hearing his father say this, Zhou Jian finally realized that the young man’s background was indeed anything but simple—so much so that even his father was sowhat apprehensive.
