The Four—Death, Oblivion, Infinity, and Galactus—had just been wondering whether their little brother had used ti-travel abilities to go back to the beginning of the universe.
But just as they voiced this suspicion, Eternity imdiately denied it, leaving them all stunned.
At that mont—
The Goddess of Death pondered aloud:
"That's true. If our youngest brother had really used ti powers, Eternity, you would have sensed it."
"But if he didn't use ti powers... how could he have existed at the birth of the universe?"
This question left even Eternity at a loss.
Yes—if no ti-travel had been involved, how had their little brother existed at the universe's beginning?
Surely it couldn't be that their mories were wrong?
The Five Creator Gods thought in amazent.
After a while, Galactus suddenly said:
"Why don't we just go ask him directly?"
At his suggestion, the other four imdiately agreed.
Very soon, each of them used their own ans to contact their youngest brother, who was still on Earth.
anwhile—
Not just the Five—countless beings across the universe were also left dazed and confused.
In their minds, two different mories had surfaced.
In one mory, there had always been Five Creator Gods.
In the other, there had always been six Creator Gods, including a mysterious one representing light, heat, and positivity.
This mysterious Creator God had never appeared publicly.
Few even knew of him—only those who had closely interacted with the Five might have heard whispers of his existence.
He had never shown himself.
No one had seen him.
Among the Six, he was the most enigmatic.
He had long been the subject of speculation and discussion across the cosmos.
Many had debated why this Creator God had never revealed himself.
Now, sensing the two conflicting mories, beings all over the universe were left stunned.
What was happening?
How could there be an alternate mory?
Had there really always been six Creator Gods?
Countless individuals were plunged into confusion.
...
Earth.
At that mont, Syd was still pondering whether what he had experienced earlier had been real or not—
When the voices of Eternity and the others reached his ears.
"Our youngest brother... there's sothing we wish to ask you..."
Hearing their explanation, Syd's eyes flickered strangely.
That mory—even the Five Creator Gods possessed it?
And it wasn't just them.
Apparently, throughout the universe, there were legends of a sixth Creator God?
Even more, Eternity had firmly confird that this phenonon had nothing to do with the manipulation of ti.
That's why they had co to ask him directly.
Listening to them, Syd was increasingly astonished.
He thought to himself:
"Self-Existence... could it really have nothing to do with ti?"
He had assud it was a temporal manipulation.
But clearly, it wasn't.
Under the Five's watchful gazes, Syd fell into deep thought.
After a while, a new idea struck him:
"Could this be related to causality?"
After all—while the Big Bang theory explained the origin of the universe, it didn't explain the cause of the singularity—the cosmic egg's existence.
Many theologians and philosophers had long argued for the concept of a "First Cause" or an "Ultimate Cause."
This concept was ant to explain the origin and reason for the existence of everything, emphasizing that every effect must have a cause—and that cause must ultimately trace back to sothing that itself had no cause.
Otherwise, there would be an infinite regress of causes, which is illogical.
Thus—there must be a First Cause.
And traditionally—that First Cause was God!
He occupied the position of the First Cause and Ultimate Reason.
Syd speculated:
"So... maybe Self-Existence connects to the First Cause?"
"Is that why I appeared before the birth of the universe?"
The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seed.
Yet he also felt it couldn't be explained so simply.
After all, God Himself was a literal 'bug'—and causality alone probably only explained part of it.
More likely, deeper divine forces were involved.
As he continued pondering, Syd suddenly noticed sothing strange:
"It seems... I haven't claid the First Cause of the multiverse—only that of this universe?"
He imdiately tried sensing it carefully.
And sure enough—he discovered that in the other universes he'd visited, such as the X-n prequel universe, he had indeed appeared before their Big Bangs.
The next mont, he casually used Dreamwalking, sending part of his consciousness to a brand-new parallel universe.
A few seconds later, after becoming that universe's Creator God, he confird one thing:
Only in universes he had visited could he occupy the position of First Cause.
In universes he hadn't visited—Self-Existence had no effect.
In other words—
Self-Existence, for now, only operated at the single-universe level.
It had not yet reached the multiversal level—or beyond.
It hadn't even influenced the earlier history of the 616 main universe!
Syd hadn't forgotten what Galactus truly was.
Unlike the four abstract beings—Eternity, Infinity, Death, and Oblivion—Galactus had once been a mortal being.
He was the sole survivor of the previous universe, absorbed into the cosmic egg and reborn.
Strictly speaking, Galactus was not so much a Creator God as he was holding a cosmic position.
Every ti a universe was destroyed, the last living being would beco the next Galactus.
That's why Galactus was so different.
He had a physical body rather than being a purely conceptual existence.
It was also why he was often weaker—and why he could be defeated or even killed without the universe collapsing.
Whenever great cosmic disasters struck, Galactus was usually the first to fall.
Whereas Eternity and the others rarely encountered real danger.
Simply put:
Poor Uncle Galactus—defeated again and again.
"616's main universe was born after the destruction of the previous one..."
Syd frowned, feeling a wave of disappointnt.
Self-Existence seed powerful—but it hadn't allowed him to seize the First Cause of the multiverse.
Nor even the First Cause of the earliest history of 616.
The more he thought about it, the deeper his disappointnt grew.
But then—
He suddenly realized sothing, freezing in place.
"Wait... this might not be a problem with Self-Existence itself—it's my problem."
While he had obtained the Self-Existence trait—
its effectiveness clearly depended on his own strength.
"After all, I'm not even at the multiversal level yet.
Naturally, Self-Existence can't touch the multiverse."
Realizing this, Syd finally understood.
The issue wasn't the ability itself.
It was that he lacked the full "Godhood" necessary to unleash its true effects.
He was missing the true components needed to claim the ultimate First Cause.
Similarly, he recalled that Chaos Magic's reality-warping ability also depended heavily on strength and completeness.
