With the news coverage of the event, countless ordinary Aricans believed the mutant in question had gone insane—how could soone so arrogant think they could challenge the military?

Even the mutants watching the broadcast had the sa thought.

Inside Professor X's mansion—

At this point in ti, the young Magneto, Professor X, Beast, Mystique, and the others had not yet parted ways over ideology. They watched the news together, wearing expressions of helplessness.

They all thought the mutant in question was far too young—completely ignorant of the military's true power, and reckless for showing himself like that.

This was bad—really bad!

"Charles, can you locate that mutant kid?" the young Erik—Magneto—asked with a frown.

"I can try," Charles replied calmly.

With that, he led the group into the Cerebro room and activated the recently developed Cerebro device.

As the machine powered on, Mystique and the others watched curiously while Charles closed his eyes, beginning his search for the mutant currently under military attack.

He focused his ntal scan on the skies.

It didn't take long before he sensed a few presences at high altitude.

However, much to his confusion, all of them were ordinary humans—there didn't seem to be any mutants among them?

"What's going on...?"

Unable to sense Syd, Charles wore a baffled expression.

anwhile, tens of thousands of ters high in the sky—

Syd was still casually playing around with fighter jets as he flew toward the Black King's location, planning to extract his X-gene.

At that mont, he felt a wave of psionic energy sweeping through the skies—a familiar kind of mind wave.

Syd recognized it instantly.

BOOM!

The air warped around him.

A vast wave of psionic power burst from his consciousness, coming into contact with Charles' scan.

In an instant, the ntal field of Professor X—amplified by Cerebro and enough to qualify him as a level-five mutant—was completely overwheld and invaded.

In that brief connection, Syd saw everything Charles was seeing—and understood his goal.

With a knowing look, Syd gently withdrew his psionic presence.

Back in the mansion—

Mystique and the others watched in confusion as Charles' face suddenly turned pale. He opened his eyes in shock and gasped for breath.

"Huff... Huff..."

"What happened?" Erik asked, frowning.

Charles took a mont before speaking through labored breaths. "I found the mutant."

"That's great news, isn't it?" Hank asked, confused.

Magneto and Mystique both nodded.

But Charles gave a bitter smile.

If only it were that simple.

At first, when his scan failed to detect the mutant, he assud there was a problem with Cerebro—or maybe the mutant wasn't in the area.

But just as he was shifting focus elsewhere, a terrifying wave of psychic energy exploded from the very area where he had detected nothing.

The force of it completely crushed him. Even with Cerebro's amplification, he was no match at all.

As he explained, Magneto and the others looked at each other in disbelief.

Charles had always been the most powerful psychic they knew. Was there really soone out there stronger than him?

How could that be possible?

Then Charles grew solemn. "That psychic energy... it definitely belonged to the one we were searching for."

"And it wasn't just the mind. I sensed sothing else in his body—so terrifying form of energy. I've never encountered a mutant like this before..."

He paused, then added gravely, "He might be an Oga-Level mutant."

His words left everyone stunned and wide-eyed.

Oga-Level?

Charles had never sensed a mutant this powerful before?

"Charles, don't you think that's a bit exaggerated?" Erik asked, still in disbelief.

Mystique and Beast nodded—they, too, thought Charles might be overreacting.

After so quick discussion, they decided they couldn't just sit back and watch. They had to try contacting or helping this mutant.

anwhile, the young mutants they had recently brought in had also heard about the incident—and were eager to join.

"Professor, is that mutant really that strong?"

"Professor Charles, aren't you exaggerating a little?"

Considering they had undergone training and gained so combat ability, Charles ultimately decided to bring them along.

Soon, they boarded the black X-Jet, heading straight for the battlefield.

While they moved out—

Syd had already reached the skies above a city.

From his divine observation, he could tell that the Black King, Sebastian Shaw, was inside a large mansion at the city center.

Without hesitation, he flew straight for it.

At the sa ti, several fighter jets had locked onto him and opened fire again.

Syd glanced at them casually.

BOOM BOOM BOOM...

Golden beams rained from the sky, obliterating six more jets in seconds. The surroundings fell quiet again.

After clearing out the pesky flies, Syd continued his slow flight toward the city center.

But while he had moved on, the Arican high command—who had been watching—were left seething.

Murmurs and complaints echoed.

"Damn mutant... why is he still standing?"

"This is ridiculous..."

Seeing him enter city airspace, they were filled with unwilling rage and resentnt.

Now that he was above a civilian area, they could no longer launch missiles—and for the mont, they had no way of dealing with him.

That was when a white-haired senator suddenly brightened, chuckling coldly.

"He's flying into the city to take shelter. That ans he's running out of power!"

"This bastard's about to burn out!"

His confident assertion made the other officials' eyes light up.

The more they thought about it, the more it made sense.

Confidence returned to them—and along with it, disdain.

So much for that earlier arrogance—now he was forced into retreat, hiding in a city to escape?

Hmph!

They sneered with satisfaction.

After a brief discussion, they decided to send ten more fighter jets.

As for missiles—they held off for now.
