At this mont, Aliya suddenly heard a series of footsteps behind her. Her expression cooled down as she emotionlessly turned around.

"I was worried about you so I ca to find you." It was Renante.

A flicker of suspicion flashed in her eyes. "I'm fine. I just need to get so fresh air."

She recognized Renante as one of the most skilled warriors in their batch. He wasn't as talented as Wolf, but he was more disciplined and hardworking. Just like her, he was also a team leader who commanded twenty warriors.

Seeing her guarded look, Renante took a step back. "Is that so?"

The two beca quiet so Renante quickly spoke to remove the awkward atmosphere.

"Don't mind what Wolf said earlier. He might be a Knight, but he is still just a kid."

Aliya stared deeply at him. "Are you that concerned about ?"

Renante found himself flustered for a mont, but he was a steady man so he managed to quickly calm down.

"Of course!"

"We are comrades. A small rift between the group will beco a major flaw in our teamwork. I don't want our teamwork to be affected because of this issue so I want to check on you."

Aliya shook her head. "Don't worry. I won't let that happen. If there's nothing else, please excuse ."

Without waiting for his response, she walked past him and left without looking back.

Renante turned his head and watched her lonely figure with a sigh.

"I almost exposed my feelings right there." He grabbed his chest. He could sense that his heart was still beating abnormally.

He didn't know when it started, but he realized recently that he liked Aliya. He thought that it was just an admiration for her persistent effort, but his feelings beca clearer as the days went by.

However, he didn't confess his feelings. He knew that Aliya liked another man and he didn't want to get in her way. He just silently cheered on for her, wishing that she would succeed.

Aliya… …

The next day, Renante was on guard duty with four other Knights.

It was just another standard day for him. His task was to keep watch over a district called San Regio together with his team.

(Author's Note: Regio is pronounced as Re--yo)

"Hey! I heard sothing from the other guys." One of his teammates suddenly spoke while beckoning them to co closer.

Curious, Renante perked his ears, but he pretended to be uninterested

"During the banquet last night, I heard that Team Leader Aliya walked out of the venue when Team Leader Wolf ntioned that she had feelings for the Lord Venerable."

Hearing this, Renante's eyes flashed with anger. He stepped forward and grabbed the gossiping warrior by the neck, his gaze incredibly cold. "Where did you hear that from?!"

"Hey! Renante, what are you doing?"

"Hey, man! You might break his neck!"

The other Knights quickly tried to separate the two.

Renante released the man, but he kept his eyes on him.

"You should speak while I'm still asking nicely."

The gossiping warrior stared at him with so lingering fear and anger. "Did you really have to grab my neck like that?! You're killing the mood, man!"

With a snort, he added. "Many of our guys attended the banquet last night and they said that they saw it happen."

Renante's expression eased up, but he still warned the man. "Don't go around spreading rumors next ti. If this gets leaked to the Lord Venerable, the consequences will be terrible. All of us might even be implicated. Do you understand what I an?"

Hearing this, the warrior beca ashen-faced. He nodded with a serious expression. "Thank you for your warning, Sir Renante."

Renante patted the man's shoulder. "Just be careful with what you say."

"I understand…"

That minor conflict didn't interrupt their task. Everyone in the team was also smart enough not to open up the topic.

Renante let out a sigh.

I hope Aliya won't be affected by this. …

anwhile, Alaric was completely unaware of the little issues happening between his subordinates. He was imrsed in understanding the destruction elent.

He gathered many books from the local libraries, hoping to get any information that would help him understand the elent better. However, he didn't find any related material.

Most of the books he had gathered only discussed the basic elents like fire, water, wind, and earth. There were also books that briefly explored the rarer elents like lightning, gravity, and space, but there was nothing about the destruction elent.

Alaric closed the last book and leaned on his seat with a deep sigh. "It looks like I have to wait until I return to North Pine Town. If I can't find anything in the town, I will have to ask Giovanni and Leighnard for help."

"Lord Venerable, do you want to massage your back?" An enchanting voice drifted into his ears.

He turned his head and saw Mathilda smiling at him. He waved his hand and shook his head. "I'm fine, but you can help with another thing."

"Just give the word, Lord Venerable. I will do anything for you." Mathilda's words were filled with hidden anings, but Alaric remained calm in the face of her temptations.

After becoming a Mythical Knight, he had beco immune to illusions and seductions. Even Mathilda's integrated monster trait, the Lustful Cauldron, could no longer affect his mind.

"Find more books about unique elents. It doesn't matter if they are obscure materials. Just bring them to ." Alaric calmly instructed.

Mathilda was inwardly disappointed, but she didn't show it on her face. She bowed her head and acknowledged his command. "Your servant obeys."

Alaric waved his hand indifferently. "You may ask Sir Galanar to accompany you. Just tell him that it was a request from ."

Mathilda nodded. "I understand. I will relay your words to him."

Knowing that it was an important matter, she didn't linger and left right away.

After she left, Alaric rubbed his temples.

Without study materials, understanding the destruction elent will be a lot more difficult.
