Chapter 37: Formation Flag

Ji Yuan first noticed the rows of stacked jade boxes inside the storage pouch.

Their appearance was identical to the jade box that Wei Caishan used to store the Bone-Corroding Flowers.

Ji Yuan hurriedly took out two of them and opened each one. Inside, as expected, were Bone-Corroding Flowers!

And these jade boxes… counting the ones he had taken from Wei Caishan, there were a total of eighteen.

Eighteen Bone-Corroding Flowers.

The Pigsty could finally be upgraded, and he could also start living a carefree life, picking up Spirit Stones every day.

Ji Yuan’s originally tense mind imdiately settled down quite a bit.

After checking the Bone-Corroding Flowers, he turned his attention to another jade box without a lid. Inside, neatly arranged, were... Spirit Stones!

Sweeping his gaze over the contents, Ji Yuan saw that there were exactly one hundred neatly arranged Spirit Stones, plus another twenty or thirty scattered nearby…

All the Spirit Stones he had spent on purchasing high-grade talismans had been recovered in an instant!

Indeed, if you wanted to get rich, killing was the quickest way!

As for the pills, besides the commonly seen Spirit Restoration Pills and Hundred Herb Pills, there was also a small bottle containing pitch-black pills, even the bottle itself was black.

Ji Yuan had no idea what they were used for.

There were no high-grade talismans left, but there were six dium-grade talismans and several low-grade ones.

None of these were particularly useful to Ji Yuan. He roughly estimated that if he sold these talismans and pills, he could probably get another seventy to eighty Spirit Stones.

After looking through these items, his attention was drawn to another jade box in the corner.

Compared to the one that held the Spirit Stones, this jade box was clearly more exquisite, with a hollow double-layered design, delicately carved flowers and plants, and even a small golden lock attached.

With a thought, Ji Yuan took it out.

The golden lock was purely decorative. He flicked it aside casually and opened the jade box.

There was no danger. Inside the jade box quietly lay a jade slip, sothing Ji Yuan had grown familiar with by now.

He had studied several techniques using such inheritance jade slips before.

“I wonder what kind of technique this is…” Ji Yuan muttered.

Since the Ghost Island Master had treated it so carefully, it must be sothing valuable.

Ji Yuan placed his hand on the jade slip and injected a trace of spiritual energy.

Instantly, a surge of unfamiliar mories flooded into his mind.

Ji Yuan instinctively felt a slight sting in his consciousness.

“What the hell… it’s just a technique, why is there so much information…” Ji Yuan was stunned for a mont, but after checking it briefly, his expression changed.

‘Damn, I really struck gold!’

Ji Yuan was overjoyed.

This jade slip did not record just a single technique.

Instead, it contained information about the sect that the Ghost Island Master had ntioned…

The sect was called the “Yin Ghost Sect”, specializing in refining Yin Ghosts.

For example, the Ghost Island Master’s formation flag, which was comparable to a dium-grade magical artifact, was called the Yin Ghost Flag, and the formation was called the Yin Ghost Formation.

The two black mist ghost heads that had initially entangled his flying sword were Yin Ghosts refined by him.

From the information within the jade slip, the thods for refining Yin Ghosts… were filthy and cruel.

First, one had to select a cultivator born during the Yin hours and then brutally torture them to death.

Only the resulting ghost would be vicious enough.

Aside from that, the jade slip also recorded the thod for cultivating Bone-Corroding Flowers.

One had to use the shinbone of a violent death victim, insert three Bone-Corroding Flower seeds into it, then bury it in a place where Yin energy gathered, with a layer of Spirit Stones spread underneath, and so on.

As for its effects… as Ji Yuan reviewed the information in his mind, his eyes suddenly lit up.

“Extract the juice of the Bone-Corroding Flower and apply it to the Yongquan and Mingn acupoints to temporarily increase the rate of spiritual energy absorption?”

Seeing this, Ji Yuan was initially pleased but then grew suspicious… He couldn’t believe it. Bone-Corroding Flowers were inherently filthy and sinister, and applying them to the vital Yongquan and Mingn acupoints sounded extrely dangerous. Ji Yuan did not dare to try it.

But then again, if there was no basis for it, why would this jade slip record it?

After finishing the jade slip, Ji Yuan thought for a mont and guessed a possibility.

The jade slip’s content was incomplete, with missing information.

Other than the construction thod for the Yin Ghost Formation and the cultivation thod for Bone-Corroding Flowers, there were only scattered pieces of information left, such as the fact that the Yin Ghost Sect was rely a sub-sect of a larger sect.

Disciples of the Yin Ghost Sect were forbidden to admit their affiliation when outside.

A cultivator could only control up to five Yin Ghosts at the sa ti, or else they would risk being devoured by their own creations.

Not even a proper technique was recorded.

After reading through it, Ji Yuan finally understood why the Ghost Island Master had been so excited when Ji Yuan had ntioned having a secret manual left by his sect.

It seed that the Ghost Island Master also knew that the jade slip’s content was incomplete.

Since that was the case, Ji Yuan beca even more convinced that he should not attempt to use the Bone-Corroding Flower to boost his cultivation efficiency.

After finishing with the jade slip, Ji Yuan did not imdiately start refining the formation flag. Instead, he took out another item from the storage pouch… a ring.

It was entirely pitch-black, made of so unknown material, and shaped like a bone ring with a small skull carved on it.

After so hesitation, Ji Yuan floated it in his palm and then injected a trace of spiritual energy.

The mont the energy entered, the ring emitted a wisp of black mist.

The black mist swirled and eventually ford the character “阴” (Yin).

The phenonon lasted for two breaths before the black mist dispersed.

The ring returned to its ordinary appearance.

“This seems like so kind of token.”

Ji Yuan speculated.

Unsure of its purpose, he put it away and finally turned his attention to the magical artifacts he had obtained… especially the black Yin Ghost Flag and the dium-grade magical boat.

Saving the best for last, Ji Yuan first picked up the skull token he had used for defense.

It was a low-grade magical artifact. It had taken several hits from the White Water Flying Sword and was slightly worn, but overall, it was still in decent condition.

Its quality was slightly better than Ji Yuan’s old Dragon Armor Shield, but after being damaged, they were about the sa.

Ji Yuan planned to sell it when he returned to Zengtou Market.

Next was the black robe, which was also a low-grade magical robe.

However, it had suffered even more damage, having taken a hit from a high-grade Demon-Suppressing Talisman and several stabs from Ji Yuan’s dium-grade flying sword.

The fact that it hadn’t shattered on the spot already spoke to its quality.

Wei Caishan’s magical boat was just an ordinary low-grade magical boat, even inferior to Ji Yuan’s White Boat. It was only good for selling in exchange for Spirit Stones.

After inspecting these, Ji Yuan finally picked up the palm-sized black magical boat.

He injected spiritual energy and began refining it.

Unlike low-grade magical artifacts, this dium-grade magical artifact sent a ssage to his mind as soon as he refined it.

The boat was called the Black Wind Boat. When traveling on water, it moved like a black gust of wind. When fully activated, it could even briefly fly with the wind, making it incredibly fast.

Even underwater, it was faster than ordinary dium-grade magical boats.

It was truly an excellent magical artifact.

Ji Yuan glanced at the White Boat in his storage pouch.

That had originally been “borrowed” from Old Boatman Wu, but now it was ti to upgrade.

After completing the refinent, Ji Yuan took out the formation flag that emitted wisps of black smoke… the Yin Ghost Flag.

To Ji Yuan, although today’s gains were many, the most practical and valuable item among them was undoubtedly this formation flag.
