Chapter 971: Chapter 111: His True Yuan is Not Enough

“The three elders of Wei De have lost contact.” Among the pursuing forces, an elder suddenly remarked, “It’s likely they’ve been eliminated.”

“This was within my expectations,” Mo Gu said indifferently. “After all, the Tai Yin Sword Master would hardly be felled by three re strikes.”

This remark, though calmly delivered, instantly caused the other elders to knit their brows.

The reasoning was sound—no one expected that rely dispatching three people would be enough to take down the Tai Yin Sword Master.

But as the commander, such a statent made it obvious you didn’t care about lives. How could they trust you not to treat their lives as pawns on a board to achieve your objectives? How could they rally behind you?

As if to confirm their concerns, Mo Gu sneered and continued:

“But this is just as well. At least it’s confird that three people cannot take down the Tai Yin Sword Master.”

The elders exchanged uneasy glances, montarily at a loss for words.

“Next, we need to make so tactical adjustnts,” Mo Gu said. “If we continue pursuing like this, the group will beco fragnted, allowing him to pick us off one by one.”

“The secret realm’s ssaging chanism works up to a distance of ten thousand zhang, with transmissions sent thrice every incense stick of ti. Beyond this range, there will be no ssages.”

“I now need a tracking party of around six people to stay within six thousand to eight thousand zhang of the target. Do you understand?”

Seeing the elders’ silence, Mo Gu’s face darkened. He suppressed his annoyance and explained with forced patience:

“Each ti a ssage is transmitted, if the target is farther than eight thousand zhang, speed up. If closer than six thousand zhang, slow down. Ensure we can track his location while staying out of his reach. Is that clear?”

“Understood.” The response ca scattered and half-hearted.

“The Tai Yin Sword Master won’t be able to maintain such a high speed indefinitely,” Mo Gu added confidently. “Otherwise, his True Yuan will deplete prematurely.”

“Though he may have so long-range scouting thods, they won’t exceed six thousand zhang. Naturally, he won’t detect us tailing him.”

“However, the ssaging chanism prevents him from confirming whether passing cultivators might receive the transmission and give chase.”

“Thus, he has two options: keep moving at high speed to leave potential pursuers behind, or remain vigilant, constantly scouting his surroundings in a hyper-tense state. The forr drains True Yuan, the latter saps ntal energy. How long can he last?”

The Nether Ghost Path elders nodded in agreent, acknowledging the sharpness of Mo Gu’s analysis, which had pinpointed the crucial weakness.

Was the Tai Yin Sword Master strong? He was. But it wasn’t his personal strength—it was the Tai Yin Suming Sword that made him formidable.

It was said that he had originally ford only a Third Grade Golden Core, and his Nascent Soul was a Divine Infant. While such cultivation levels were top-tier in any sect, claiming he could take on dozens alone was pure delusion.

In this realm’s trial, as long as more than twelve people remained, the ordeal would continue. Hounded as he was, no matter how exceptional his cultivation was, how long could the Tai Yin Sword Master endure?

When he ran out of strength, that would be the day the Nether Ghost Path claid his life!

………

Ling Yunpo slowed down suddenly, sensing sothing amiss.

Apart from the initial three elders, the Nether Ghost Path had sent no one else to die.

What sches could these guys be plotting now?

The secret realm’s ssaging distance was as vast as ten thousand zhang. This ant as long as a cultivator was within that range, his location would be reported periodically.

And since it was impossible to monitor every corner within that ten-thousand-zhang radius, if the enemy chose to stop attacking but maintained a presence, things would get tricky.

After all, it’s the hidden cards that pose the greatest threat.

Ling Yunpo contemplated briefly and decided he couldn’t afford to be careless.

“Ah Jing!” he ordered. “Scout the entire area within a ten-thousand-zhang radius for !”

“You’re human!” the Kunlun Mirror exclaid in horror. “Do you even realize how vast ten thousand zhang is?”

“No matter how vast, can’t we resolve it with a few teleportations and so scans?” Ling Yunpo retorted in surprise.

“Resolve it how?” the Kunlun Mirror asked angrily. “Go ahead, tell how to resolve it!”

“Let break it down for you. If your maximum scanning range is one-ninth of the area…” Ling Yunpo began explaining patiently, “then divide the area into nine equal zones. Teleport to the center of each zone, scan, and repeat nine tis…”

“Fine, fine, stop talking,” the Kunlun Mirror cut him off exasperatedly, unable to tolerate being lectured like a child. “I’ll do it, alright? Happy now?”

She disappeared shortly after, while the Suming Sword chuckled softly, teasing:

“Sword Master, this mirror really is quite handy, isn’t it?”

“There are things only Ah Jing can assist with,” Ling Yunpo responded coolly. “Suming, instead of envying her for earning my trust, why don’t you reflect on what you’re lacking yourself? You’re my Life-bound Sword Artifact, yet you’re less crucial than Ah Jing. Does that not make you feel… inadequate?”

The Suming Sword fell silent: ……

“True, true,” it muttered insincerely, soon lapsing into feigned death.

After a few monts, roughly two minutes later, the Kunlun Mirror teleported back.

“The Nether Ghost Path cultivators are here,” she announced, displaying a map for Ling Yunpo. “Nine thousand zhang due south, moving very slowly.”

“Additionally, six of them are at seventy-five-hundred zhang, moving slightly faster, heading toward the coordinates you last left behind.”

“And three others—likely loose cultivators from a neutral sect—have arrived after receiving the realm’s transmissions. Their locations and speeds are marked.”

“I see,” Ling Yunpo nodded. “You’ve done well, Ah Jing. Go rest for now.”

“Mm.” Ah Jing was about to revert to her intangible form and return to his Sea of Consciousness, but Ling Yunpo added:

“After the next realm transmission, scout again.”

The Kunlun Mirror: ……

“Fine!” she snapped in frustration.

Ling Yunpo studied the illusion-generated map ticulously.

From the Nether Ghost Path’s formation and pace, it was evident they’d abandoned direct engagent after the first wave failed, realizing his strength was overwhelming. Now they sought to wear him down, hoping the neutral sect cultivators would trap him, exhausting his True Yuan before making their move.

Such naïve tactics. How could I possibly fall for them?

If you’re not intent on a fight, I won’t stay to entertain you either.

Ling Yunpo patiently waited until the next realm transmission occurred. As soon as the Kunlun Mirror departed for another scan, he rged with the Suming Sword in Man-Sword Unity, unleashing astonishing speed as he shot straight into the distance!
