Qu Jianlei stayed in the stone cave for a day and roughly calculated that it indeed involved the mysteries of space.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t figure it out for the ti being. To understand it completely, it would probably take a considerable amount of ti.
He had silently morized the text and images, but since they were projections, he would definitely need to see the real objects in the future.
In short, he didn’t co away empty-handed, but it wasn’t enough to satisfy him. A day later, he planned to leave.
The silhouette wanted him to leave Jabbar behind, even kill him, so he could extract the gold attribute root bone from him.
Qu Jianlei flatly refused, "Isn’t that cannibalism? Don’t even think about it!"
To be honest, he didn’t quite understand the principle of extracting root bone and was worried the other party was playing a trick to bolster their cultivation level.
In any case, he would never aid the enemy, and it did have the semblance of cannibalism—he could never forget the Wasteland’s Fallen.
"Tsk," the silhouette sighed regretfully, "mutual trust really is a big issue."
Qu Jianlei didn’t listen to his ramblings and left with the unconscious Jabbar.
Arriving at the Gathering Area next to the Star Port, Little Lake did a brief search and found that the Sheriff was actually on the Transfer Star.
This situation was quite rare as he was the only Supre from the Customs Enforcent Division stationed in the Celestial Hook Star Realm.
Previously, he lingered on the Transfer Star for many days, mainly to handle the issue of their warship being attacked.
Later, he beca friends with Qu Jianlei, which could be considered taking care of the aftermath of that incident.
For the Customs Enforcent Division, the Transfer Star was indeed an important node for the entire Celestial Hook Star Realm.
But with the Sheriff having to oversee the entire Star Realm, his frequent visits to the Transfer Star were indeed quite unusual.
However, Qu Jianlei didn’t think much of it and directly contacted the Sheriff.
The Sherman’s tone was initially very bad, but upon realizing who it was, he imdiately brightened up.
"Is it you, Old Hong? Just in ti, I haven’t had dinner. Want to grab a drink sowhere? It’s on !"
Qu Jianlei listened with so suspicion, "You, what’s happened to you this ti?"
The Sheriff chuckled dryly upon hearing this, "Let’s talk in person, can’t we grab a drink together without sothing happening?"
Before long, the two t at a relatively advanced restaurant.
The Sheriff brought along a C-level female Awakened, though it was slightly awkward as the place was not far from the Customs Enforcent Division.
Without saying much, the two of them first indulged in so eating and drinking, with the C-level female primarily serving them, consuming very little herself.
Halfway through the al, Qu Jianlei spoke, "Old Xie, I ca to you with a matter."
"Go on," said the Sheriff, glancing at the woman beside him, who sensibly got up and left the private room, closing the door behind her.
Qu Jianlei started with a minor issue, "Can you arrange two five-year Star Realm exempted passes?"
"Tsk, a full Star Realm exemption?" The Sheriff furrowed his brows, appearing troubled, "And two of them... That’s not easy."
"Co on, your Customs Enforcent Division can handle it," Qu Jianlei didn’t give him the chance to make excuses, "I’ll pay."
"This isn’t a matter of money," the Sheriff muttered thoughtfully.
For him, arranging this was really manageable, but the critical issue was that the temperant of Qu Jianlei’s crew was notoriously bad.
The Customs Enforcent Division specialized in dealing with volatile tempers, yet these people dared to challenge the Customs Enforcent Division.
"Then let’s forget it," Qu Jianlei didn’t want to make things difficult, holding fast to the principle of mutual willingness in all dealings.
The Sheriff wasn’t swayed by emotion; if he deferred out of embarrassnt and the pass caused a problem, whose responsibility would it be?
Given their lawless behavior, it was possible they could even provoke the military!
So he stated, "Other matters are negotiable, but this one isn’t very convenient; you seem like you’d even take a stab at a warship."
Go for a warship? Qu Jianlei wanted to deny it, but upon reflection, he realized the possibility objectively existed.
He didn’t focus on that topic anymore, "I’ve heard that there are many convicts in the Asteroid Belt; does the Customs Enforcent Division have much intelligence on them?"
"Convicts?" The Sheriff’s eyes lit up at this, "What do you have in mind?"
Qu Jianlei casually replied, "We’re conducting so experints recently, and we need so Awakeneds, preferably high-tier ones."
Using Awakeneds for experints wasn’t uncommon, such as in the developnt of new techniques, as had been ntioned earlier.
But using convicts as test subjects adds a curious elent, indicating at least so kind of taboo experints.
Then again, convicts had no human rights; even Awakeneds needed to atone first, so being grabbed for experintation was reasonable.
The Sheriff eyed him even more brightly, "Do you have specific requirents?"
"The higher the cultivation level, the better," Qu Jianlei wouldn’t spill his true intentions, sparing the other from guessing his purpose, "List them out for ."
The Sheriff’s expression was peculiar, "The higher the better, do you want details on the Supres?"
"Of course," Qu Jianlei responded without hesitation, "the higher the better, it surely includes Supres."
"Then this could be fortuitous, you can do a favor," the Sheriff raised an eyebrow, "I’ve co this ti to track down a Supre convict."
Qu Jianlei shook his head decisively, "I’m not sure I’ll be of help; why should I handle a convict capable of giving you trouble?"
When you turned down, Old Xie, you were quite straightforward, so I naturally won’t take on everything myself.
But how could Sheriff pass up this opportunity? With a forced smile, he said, "Old Hong, everything is negotiable."
"You won’t even bend the rules for a pass, and you want to help you kill the Supre?" Qu Jianlei cast him a sidelong glance.
"Isn’t it because we’re worried about your temper?" Sheriff said with a grin.
"If it really gets done, what are a few passes? Consider it an extra reward, and no one would dare complain afterward."
Qu Jianlei curled his lip, "Even our experints have requirents, and I can’t discuss the specifics."
"The Supre you want to catch may not et our experintal criteria... you might as well just give a list."
Sheriff didn’t care and directly provided the relevant information.
"We’re after Kerry, male, currently one hundred and fifty-nine, has a contact-type personality disorder, has killed over three thousand, and is on the run."
"Personality disorder?" Qu Jianlei raised an eyebrow at this, which reminded him of his past self.
But that age does et the requirents of the cranial profile, "Is that all the introduction?"
Sheriff replied, "I don’t know much either, he kills both star thieves and Customs Enforcent Team mbers, a complex character... um, Gold Attribute!"
Why didn’t you ntion those last three words first, Qu Jianlei thought with a roll of his eyes, "Gold Attribute... that gets a boost in space!"
Sheriff chuckled indifferently, "Your Earth Attribute also gets a boost in space."
"My attribute boosts are my business," Qu Jianlei’s face darkened, "What’s mine is mine, it can’t be your excuse!"
"I’m not asking you to kill him," Sheriff continued to coax, "It would be good to bring him to justice, or chase him out of the Celestial Hook Star Realm."
Qu Jianlei waved his hand, "Enough, just give the list, and how long will it take?"
Sheriff realized he was genuinely uninterested in continuing, so he firmly stated, "I’ll give it to you this ti tomorrow,"
After a slight pause, he added with a smile, "Don’t go to the Elf House tonight, stay here, the service isn’t bad either."
He said this with the intent of treating, but Qu Jianlei was unwilling to take advantage, "I have plans tonight."
He stood up and left without a backward glance, as the C-level Female Awakened returned, "Lord Sheriff, there’s a new ssage from the division..."
"I’m not interested," Sheriff waved his hand, speaking indifferently, "Today I want to rest... Why is there no one who takes responsibility?"
The Female C-level blinked, "Are you referring to that gentleman just now, my lord?"
Sheriff gave her a light glance, although she was a woman who had shared his bed, so bad habits couldn’t be tolerated.
"Matters concerning the Supre are not for you to comnt on, Old Hong is certainly impressive."
The woman moved her lips, but hesitated to speak.
"Go ahead," Sheriff spoke casually, "I’m not so intimidated as to deny a woman her voice."
"I’m talking about that gentleman," the woman plucked up the courage to answer, "There are reports suggesting they launched a strong assault on the Norton Clan."
"The one on Celestial Handle Star?" Sheriff was stunned upon hearing this.
Of course, he knew about the Norton Clan, the Customs Enforcent Division’s trouble with Rhodiola rosea’s team was precisely because of the Norton Family.
But because he was familiar, he knew not only that the Norton Family withdrew from the Asteroid Belt, but they were about to be knighted.
Knighthood is a major Imperial affair, but it’s a celebration for a few, with most people indifferent.
It was precisely because the Customs Enforcent Division got caught in the crossfire that Sheriff paid attention to the Norton Family’s knighthood and knew of the governnt’s focus.
"Weren’t they protected by the City Guard? To actually launch a strong assault... that’s quite audacious, isn’t it?"
More than audacious? The woman smiled bitterly, "It’s said they deployed at least four Awakened, and the Norton Family suffered heavy losses."
"One Supre went missing, and based on everyone’s analysis, it’s likely... grim fate."
"Only grim, not hopeful," Sheriff composed himself and scoffed, "Fall into Rhodiola rosea’s hands, and expect to live?"
The woman nodded continuously, "Yes, I also think this group is too hard to deal with, you must be careful, sir."
"Careful... maybe not," Sheriff muttered softly.
A day later, Qu Jianlei received a list of wanted criminals, and he was truly... completely shocked.
In the Asteroid Belt alone, there were at least six Supre fugitives hidden.
If there are more, it couldn’t be asured, maybe ten, twelve, or... twenty?
Qu Jianlei simply couldn’t believe this number, was there even a total of thirty Supres in the entire Celestial Hook Star Realm?
But Sheriff calmly stated, "Supres who haven’t committed cris can roam freely, but those who have have no choice."
Qu Jianlei didn’t want to argue with him, but, "But I’ve been in the Asteroid Belt for a long ti and haven’t felt there are so many Supres."
"Then you haven’t stayed long enough," Sheriff stated very calmly.
"You never know how many Supres are quietly watching you from behind."
