The heavy iron gate slowly opened, and through the gaps, she saw the empty square outside. Ye Zi wasn’t surprised at all.
It was she who didn’t want Lin Chan, Chen Yun, and the others to see her off. It was she who wanted to leave here alone.
The sunlight outside, the fresh air, was clear and pleasant. She stood at the doorway, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the caresses of the sunlight, the brush of the clean breeze.
She was finally out.
"Ye Zi! Marry !"
A voice like a dream suddenly echoed by her ears, and with those words, hard to believe, she opened her eyes and saw the man who had written in a letter saying he would marry her once she was released. He was holding three Rose Flowers and was kneeling on one knee before her.

He smiled at Ye Zi, "My brother only told last night that you were getting out today, which ruined all my plans. I could only rush over at dawn! I saw flowers on the way, soone growing them, and I took the chance when they weren’t paying attention to steal them. But then I found myself being chased by a big yellow dog for over ten ters before I barely managed to jump into the car and let the driver speed away."
"Are you crazy? What if you got bitten by the dog?" Ye Zi frowned imdiately.
"If I got bitten, it’s your fault! You made Chen Yun keep it from , so all my prepared proposal plans went to waste. I rushed here as soon as possible, but the florists were still closed, so when I saw Rose Flowers by the roadside, I couldn’t resist picking three for the proposal." Lin Deng laughed brightly, "Ye Zi, there’s no beautiful fresh roses, and there’s no ring, but I’m still proposing with these three Rose Flowers. If you don’t mind, you should marry ."
Seeing Ye Zi about to speak, Lin Deng quickly added, "Don’t rush to refuse, hear out first."
Not giving her the chance to speak, Lin Deng continued, "The first ti I saw you, I thought this girl was so silly. Everyone was unwilling to serve a cripple like , but this girl was pushed in! The second ti I saw you, I still thought you were silly. I lost my temper and you left, but you were the first to co back on your own to check on , also the first to clean up the ward silently. Later, I still thought you were especially silly, telling jokes that weren’t funny to cheer up soone who didn’t want to live, but you still made laugh. When you weren’t aware, I smiled like an idiot, just like you."
Tears fell from Ye Zi’s eyes instantly, and with Lin Deng’s words, those images, those mories, slowly erged.
"All these years, you’ve been my constant companion as my shadow, when I’m happy, you’re there, when I’m angry, you’re still there, when I’m cold, you know, when I’m hot, you understand, when I’m sick, you care, Ye Zi." Lin Deng looked at Ye Zi, his voice gentle, "I once liked a girl before because of my cowardice, she left and beca soone’s bride. I naturally thought I would rember her for a lifeti, and indeed I haven’t forgotten her. But unexpectedly, one day, a silly girl nad Ye Zi intruded, pushing aside the story of Jiang Biyun bit by bit. She integrated herself into Lin Deng’s life, and made Jiang Biyun thoroughly fade into the past. Over the years, I gradually stopped recalling her."
