Lin Chan sighed, "Lin Deng, what kind of virtue did you accumulate in your past life to have t such a good friend like Ye Zi? After everything happened, she didn’t want us friends to be troubled, nor did she want to betray her own conscience, so she went to the police station and confessed herself. Lin Deng, aside from doing what we can, what else can we do? Should we hide it from you, or do we watch you worry like you’re half-dead in the hospital over Ye Zi, blaming yourself for this incident? Or do we watch you act like a rash youngster trying to take the bla so you can go in and keep Ye Zi company?"

Lin Deng tightly held onto his phone and remained silent for a long ti.

Only his breathing beca heavier, and long after, he finally spoke, "I want to see her, now."

"Alright, I’ll arrange for soone to drive you to the police station. Ye Zi has already been sent to the won’s prison," Lin Chan thought for a mont and agreed, "but you must promise you won’t do anything impulsive."

"Alright."

After responding, Lin Deng hung up the phone, sitting alone in the hospital room waiting for the person Lin Chan arranged to pick him up.

Half an hour later, the person Lin Chan sent arrived at the hospital room. Lin Chan didn’t co personally, only gave a few instructions to the driver and assistant.

Lin Deng had changed clothes, and after the person arrived, he sat in the wheelchair and let Lin Chan’s assistant push him out of the hospital and into the car heading to the won’s prison.

Today’s weather was indeed the best day in the past month.

Outside the car window, the sun was shining brightly, and a variety of people passed by, so with smiles on their faces, others with worries.

For so reason, Lin Deng suddenly felt that the capital city was gradually losing its soul.

"Young Master Deng, we’re here."

It took more than an hour and a half for the car to stop in front of the won’s prison. Lin Deng was sitting in the wheelchair, looking up at the black characters on the door, then at the desolate surrounding mountains and forests. Lin Deng’s eyebrows knitted slightly, thinking, Ye Zi was a girl, living alone in such a place for more than a year, wouldn’t she be scared?

A square room separated by a glass wall; on this side of the wall sat Lin Deng in a wheelchair, while on the other side was Ye Zi, dressed in a light blue prison uniform.

There had been many visitors in the past two days, so when Ye Zi heard soone had co to see her, she never thought it would be Lin Deng.

But the mont she saw Lin Deng coming in a wheelchair, tears fell uncontrollably.

It had only been a week since they last t, but Ye Zi felt Lin Deng had grown much thinner.

Of course, having endured so much physical tornt, these past few days couldn’t have been easy for him.

But she wondered, with the weather getting better, was his body also recovering? Have his injuries from the beatings fully healed?

Since her confession, Ye Zi had never thought she would see Lin Deng again.

She even agreed with Lin Chan and the others to first tell Lin Deng she was sick, then say she’d resigned to study abroad, not wanting Lin Deng to know she was in such a place.

So Ye Zi never expected to et Lin Deng so soon and hadn’t thought about what to say when she saw him.

"Ye Zi, I’m sorry." Lin Deng, looking at Ye Zi’s tear-streaked face, didn’t know what to say besides apologizing, "If it weren’t for , you’d still be working well in the hospital."
