"If we don’t have children, we can spend our lives together just fine. Without a little one to steal your attention, your eyes will only have , Ding Long, in them forever." Ding Long replied without hesitation. After saying that, he stopped wielding the kitchen knife, paused, and then continued, "But I do hope we can have a child together."
"No way! Not having one with you!" Ding Jinshi snorted, "Miser! Cheapskate!"
After the retort, Ding Jinshi walked straight out of the kitchen. Though she could discuss having children with Ding Long in the kitchen in such a bold manner, her cheeks were slightly red when she walked out.
"Hey, why are you out here?" Mother Ding looked at Ding Jinshi in confusion as she ca out of the kitchen alone. "Is the al ready?"
"Ding Long is cooking. I can’t cook, so if I stayed in there, I’d just be in the way. I figured I’d co out," Ding Jinshi replied.
"What! You can’t cook?" Father Ding and Mother Ding were stunned, "If you can’t cook, then where do you eat when you’re at ho?"
Neither Father Ding nor Mother Ding knew that Ding Long, who wouldn’t even bother picking up a soy sauce bottle if it fell over, had learned how to cook.
"Ding Long can cook! He cooks really well now!" Ding Jinshi genuinely didn’t see anything wrong with her not cooking because Chen Shan wouldn’t cook, Zhou Chenyue wouldn’t either, they were all daughters pampered at ho, who would let them into the kitchen?
But Father Ding, being the macho type, always advocated that gentlen shouldn’t cook and couldn’t accept it.
Mother Ding, who was used to won taking on all household chores, couldn’t understand it either.
"You’re actually having Ding Long cook for you?" Mother Ding’s voice trembled with anger.
It was only then that Ding Jinshi realized her in-laws’ reaction was off. She stood there, it was awkward to sit or turn back to the kitchen, silent, not knowing how to respond.
If it were soone else, she had a hundred cobacks, but these were Ding Long’s parents, her in-laws. No matter how audacious she was, she couldn’t backtalk with them, right?
The family of four had a slightly oppressive al. Father Ding and Mother Ding were angry at Ding Jinshi for not cooking, and Ding Long was habitually taciturn at ho. As for Ding Jinshi, she didn’t dare open her mouth, afraid that once she did, she would ignite Father Ding and Mother Ding’s temper, because she knew her in-laws were trying hard to suppress their anger.
After eating, Ding Long took Ding Jinshi and left directly without any intention of clearing the tableware.
After going outside, Ding Long took Ding Jinshi to her parent’s house.
They were all in the sa compound, but to avoid coming back again, Ding Long drove there. Sitting in the car, Ding Jinshi was still a bit worried.
"When you just pulled out, I felt like your parents were about to eat alive." Ding Jinshi tugged on Ding Long’s sleeve, "Thank goodness you’re their son. If you were a daughter, I bet your parents would have strangled you right after you were born."
"My parents’ minds are still trapped in old-school views, just ignore a lot of what they say if you can’t stand it. Look at , I’ve been hearing it since I was little and never got used to it; it just goes in one ear and out the other." Ding Long raised his hand to rub Ding Jinshi’s head before parking the car in the courtyard.
The mont the people inside heard a noise, the housekeeper ca out for a look. Seeing the car, they recognized it was Ding Jinshi and Ding Long, then said to the people inside, "Sir, Madam, Miss and her husband have returned."
"Her husband." Every ti Ding Jinshi heard the housekeeper call Ding Long ’her husband,’ she found it particularly amusing, so she leaned over to Ding Long’s ear and mimicked it, naturally earning an eye roll from him.
