"Alright, I’ll take you and my colleagues out for dinner tomorrow night." Ding Long agreed, as he truly didn’t have ti tomorrow. He had taken half a day off today to rest because his body couldn’t take it anymore, and when he got ho tonight, he expected to discuss so matters with his subordinates until late.
Ding Jinshi rarely ca here, and Ding Long really wanted to put down his work to accompany Ding Jinshi to have fun. However, reality didn’t allow him to do so temporarily. He believed that in two or three years, he could spare more ti to spend with Ding Jinshi.
After returning to the hotel, Ding Long stayed in Ding Jinshi’s room for a while before leaving. After Ding Long left, Ding Jinshi went to find his colleagues. It was still early, so the three of them played cards in Colleague A’s room until past eleven before returning to their own rooms to rest.
As he passed by Ding Long’s room, Ding Jinshi heard voices coming from inside, realizing that they were still busy. Rembering that Ding Long hadn’t eaten much that night and it was already late, Ding Jinshi called the front desk, asking the hotel’s dining departnt to prepare a light and easily digestible late-night snack for Ding Long’s room.
Since there were many people in Ding Long’s room, it wouldn’t be right to send just one portion for Ding Long. So, Ding Jinshi decided to treat Ding Long’s employees to a late-night snack.
The great thing about a big hotel is that their service is impeccable. Even though it was already past eleven, the hotel still had the dining staff prepare a late-night snack and deliver it. However, by the ti it arrived, it was already nearly midnight.
On a cold night, working overti until midnight, a steaming, light, and easily digestible noodle soup made everyone in the room very happy.
"Boss, when did you order the night snack? We’ve been with you all evening and didn’t even know." A colleague asked.
Ding Long chuckled and replied, "It was your future boss lady who ordered it." Ding Long didn’t hide his carelessness, admitting he hadn’t thought of ordering a late-night snack for his team.
He guessed that it might have been Ding Jinshi who noticed he hadn’t eaten much in the evening and seeing him still working with a group, decided to order a snack.
"Oh! Seems like we’re benefiting from the boss’s luck!" A colleague teased bravely, "Boss, we didn’t get to attend your engagent last ti. Only Assistant Zhang saw your fiancée today; we haven’t t her yet. When will you bring her to et us? We’ve already enjoyed her warm gesture of a night snack, and we should thank her in person!"
"Tomorrow night." Ding Long gave a precise ti. Just like that, with a warm night snack and gossip about their boss, everyone remained particularly energetic at work, even though it was already midnight.
anwhile, Ding Jinshi in her room had no idea that her casual instruction led Ding Long’s team to rember her kindness as the "future boss lady."
The next day, Ding Jinshi and her two colleagues went to the exchange eting, just as the three had initially expected. They were rely there to represent their departnt, giving face to the organizers. The person in charge of the event was too busy to even set foot on the ground and, after greeting them, was nowhere to be seen. Ding Jinshi and her colleagues found a place to sit and waited for the eting to begin.
In truth, Ding Jinshi and her colleagues were just there to make up the numbers, so they sensibly found seats at the very back, talking softly among themselves without worrying about disturbing the people seriously attending the exchange eting at the front.
