Ding Jinshi gave Chen Shan a sidelong glance, "Love is not about repaying or being grateful."
"I know love has nothing to do with gratitude." Chen Shan asked, "Then tell , what is love? Is love a constant longing for soone? Can you honestly say that when Ding Long is on a business trip for five days, you don’t miss him? Don’t tell that’s just your friendship with Ding Long. You’re known for being emotionally indifferent, Ding Jinshi. We’ve been good friends for years. Would you miss if we didn’t see each other for ten days?"
The answer, obviously, is no.
Even Ding Jinshi was well aware of this herself.
She suddenly lifted her head to look at Chen Shan, eting Chen Shan’s teasing smile, Ding Jinshi’s eyes were a bit flustered.
Ding Jinshi hurriedly found a la excuse to leave Chen Shan’s ho. Watching Ding Jinshi almost flee, Chen Shan just stared at her back without speaking. She knew what the panic in Ding Jinshi’s eyes represented.
Perhaps it was because of Chen Shan’s rhetorical question, Ding Jinshi herself also realized sothing.

Won are emotional beings. Whoever treats her well, consistently treats her well without expecting anything in return or caring about gains and losses, she can’t remain indifferent. Perhaps her heart had already wavered, it’s just that won are adept at deceiving themselves.
After leaving Chen Shan, Ding Jinshi returned alone to the place she shared with Ding Long. Along the way, she was sowhat lost in thought, nearly bumping into a passerby. Until she got ho, Chen Shan’s rhetorical question still echoed in her mind.
The two-bedroom house was not exactly empty. The place was kept spotless by Ding Jinshi, who, despite being lazy, was quite diligent when it ca to tidying up.

"Don’t tell you just woke up? Or did you just go out?" Ding Long’s voice sounded sowhat weary.
"I just went out." Ding Jinshi instinctively blurted out, "Why haven’t you called these days? When you arrived at your destination, didn’t you think to call ho to let know you’re safe? Don’t you know soone at ho cares about you? You’re an adult, how could you act so thoughtlessly?"
On the other end, Ding Long’s fatigue dissipated with her few complaints. When he spoke again, his tone was particularly light and cheerful, "Oh, who at ho is missing ?"
Ding Jinshi was slightly shaken by Ding Long’s question, and then abruptly changed the subject, inquiring about Ding Long’s work, "Is the work over there tough? You sounded tired and hoarse just now, have you been staying up late?"
"Yeah, sothing ca up unexpectedly, so I’ve been rushing to fix it. It might take so more ti before I can co back." Ding Long didn’t hide anything.
