"I’m different from you, the female head of the house isn’t my biological mom. At ho, when I’m with her, I feel particularly like a guest, so it’s especially uncomfortable for ." Ding Jinshi pursed her lips; seeing Ding Long didn’t say much, she stayed silent too.
While passing by the market halfway, Ding Long unexpectedly got out of the car and dragged Ding Jinshi to the vegetable market. When she faced the overwhelming noise and complex slls that made her feel dizzy, Ding Jinshi clung to Ding Long’s hand, refusing to go inside.
"I’ll just wait in the car for you." Ding Jinshi said.
Ding Long glanced at Ding Jinshi and, with a mischievous grin, scooped her up by the waist and carried her inside, only letting go when they reached the center of the market. Ding Jinshi looked at the floor, which was covered with what she couldn’t tell were rotten vegetable leaves or chicken and duck droppings, and she refused to put her feet down.
"Ding Long! If you dare put on the ground, I’ll strangle you!" Ding Jinshi’s biggest flaw was her obsession with cleanliness; being a Virgo, she couldn’t tolerate such an environnt.
"How about I carry you on my back?" Ding Long grinned wickedly. But in such a large market, bustling with people, two grown adults walking around like that would definitely draw attention.
Seeing her legs wrapped tightly around his calves, unwilling to touch the ground and glaring at him angrily, Ding Long finally carried her back to the car, patted her head, and said, "Wait for in the car, don’t wander off."
Only then did Ding Jinshi touch her feet to the ground and breathe a sigh of relief. "Did your brain short-circuit? Why insist on buying groceries and cooking? You can’t even cook, right?"
"Because I’m in a good mood today." Ding Long answered casually and then confidently strode into the market wearing clothes that clashed with the setting.
Watching Ding Long’s back, Ding Jinshi shook her head, wondering if n also have their ’ti of the month’ with a few days of mood swings.
Twenty minutes later, Ding Long erged, hands full of groceries. Seeing Ding Jinshi leaning against the car, kicking a roadside pebble, he said, "Why didn’t you wait inside the car?"
"Wouldn’t it still be boring? Next ti you’re going grocery shopping, don’t make tag along!" Ding Jinshi huffed, finally sitting back inside.
Ding Long humd ambiguously, clearly indicating a refusal.
The car sped down the not-so-wide road, avoiding rush hour. There weren’t many cyclists, and after returning ho, Ding Long carried the groceries directly into the kitchen. Ding Jinshi glanced into the kitchen but, finding it uninteresting, returned to her room. As a lazy person, she had no intention of lending a hand.
Back in her room, the first thing Ding Jinshi did was wash her hair, take a bath, and change clothes. After spending just a few minutes in the market, she felt the market’s strange sll clinging all over her.
When her cleanliness obsession kicked in, Ding Jinshi could stay in the bathroom for an hour before coming out. Once she changed into her ho clothes, she surprisingly caught the aroma of food wafting from the kitchen. Touching her stomach that had been growling in the bathroom, she slowly moved towards the kitchen while drying her hair.
"What are you making? It slls so good." Ding Jinshi stood behind Ding Long and peeked over his shoulder at the pot. "Braised fish? You know how to make it?"
"It’s my first ti; seems pretty okay." Ding Long was slightly proud. He had the market vendor prepare the fish, and after coming ho, he washed it, marinated it, and put it in the pot. It looked like it wasn’t too bad, at least good enough to attract Ding Jinshi from the living room, right?
