"Not small." Ding Long looked aningfully at Ding Jinshi. He wasn’t just talking nonsense; in the previous life, even when Ding Jinshi was slim, she had a good figure. In this life, she is slightly plumper than before, so even without having the chance to see, Ding Long could confidently bet that her chest is not small.
"Where are you looking?" Ding Jinshi crossed her arms over her chest and shot Ding Long a glare.
"Haha." Ding Long chuckled softly, then continued, "You don’t have to belittle yourself. I never said I wouldn’t marry you. Your dad asked just now, and I answered. If you want to get married, I’ll marry you. After all, we’ve known each other for years, and I should do so good deeds, right?"
"Thanks to your ancestors for eighteen generations!" Ding Jinshi gritted through her teeth, then leaned back wearily against the car seat.
Once they got ho, Ding Jinshi still felt down and tried to head straight to her room to sleep, but Ding Long called out to her.
"Sit down, let’s talk." Ding Long pointed to the sofa in the living room. Seeing Ding Jinshi shake her head, he added, "Let’s talk about you and Lan Li."
With that, Ding Jinshi reluctantly sat down next to Ding Long and asked, "What do you want to talk about regarding and Lan Li?"
"Listen to first, then decide whether you will do anything about it." Ding Long poured a glass of warm water for Ding Jinshi, handed it to her, and sat back down, saying, "I know you have your temper and pride. It’s impossible for you to ask Lan Li to co back to you, yet your heart still misses Lan Li, loves him, and can’t let go of your feelings for him. As for Lan Li, he is similar to you. His personality, as we both understand, ans once he makes a decision, he rarely leaves room for retreat. I also know you might want to go back to him, and wish to know if he still cares for you."
"So what?" Ding Jinshi lay powerlessly on the sofa. "I feel he no longer has any feelings for . The way he looks at feels so unfamiliar."
"When Lan Li wants to hide his emotions, no one can tell what he’s thinking. After all these years apart, he hasn’t been in another relationship. He has great personal qualities, and he’s of the age to settle down. If he wanted to, there’d be plenty of won lined up for him to choose from, but he’s remained single. Maybe, he still has feelings for you?"
"You said maybe. What if maybe not?" Ding Jinshi looked at Ding Long. "I always feel like I’m just being delusional."
"Why don’t you try and see if you are being delusional or not?" Ding Long smiled, then raised his hand and gently patted Ding Jinshi’s head like an older brother comforting her. "Perfect timing, with this matter, we can use it as an opportunity to test if Lan Li still likes you."
Only then did Ding Jinshi sit up straight with so curiosity, "How to test?"
"Isn’t everyone aware that you and I are getting engaged? Let’s go ahead and hold an engagent party. We’ll publicly announce our engagent and see if Lan Li shows up to take you away on the engagent day—it’s a kind of pressure, you could say. If he truly cares about you, at our engagent party, he will certainly not be able to resist coming to take you away. If that happens, reconciling would be a natural progression for you two, wouldn’t it?"
Ding Long’s suggestion brightened Ding Jinshi’s eyes, but then she shook her head again, "That wouldn’t be fair to you; it would be using you."
