After sending Lin Deng away, Ding Long imdiately called Ding Jinshi. Over there, Ding Jinshi responded softly with a chuckling tone once she heard Ding Long had arrived safely.

“nstrual cramps,” Ding Jinshi replied nonchalantly to Ding Long, “Once I get through today, it should be better. If I ask for another rest day, the professor definitely won’t believe .”
“Don’t force yourself. Even if you need to rest, your professor can’t do anything about it. Stay away from cold water. If you can find it there, buy a packet of brown sugar and make a drink with it.” Ding Long advised, “Get so rest and don’t stay up late reading.”
“Really? Ding Long, you know all this?” Ding Jinshi laughed and teased, “Did you study this?”
Ding Long just smiled and said nothing. How could he explain to Ding Jinshi that the reason he knew so much was because they had shared a bed for many years, and he knew every little ailnt she had. Her nstrual cramps were worse than most, although after the birth of their daughter, this issue seed to have resolved itself.
Not wanting to disturb Ding Jinshi’s rest, Ding Long added a couple more reminders and then hung up the phone.
Without planning to rest at ho, Ding Long put on his coat and went out right away. At this ti, many stores in the capital were still closed, so it took him quite a long ti to buy everything he wanted.
After buying the items, Ding Long drove directly to his assistant’s ho.
With it being New Year’s, the assistant was a bit overwheld that the big boss ca personally. But after hearing Ding Long’s explanation, the assistant was stunned.
“I’m sorry. Since I can’t travel abroad myself, I have to trouble you to take these items overseas. Rest assured, I will count three days of overti pay for you and give you a travel allowance.” Ding Long knew he was imposing by asking his assistant to work during the holidays, but he felt uneasy knowing Ding Jinshi was suffering alone without doing sothing.
If it were possible, he would even want to deliver these things himself.
“Boss, you’re too kind,” the assistant was embarrassed, especially when he saw the several strings of candied hawthorns lying on top of the box. He was at a loss for words. So, was this business trip intended for warming up the boss’s girlfriend from afar?
Don’t ask how the assistant knew he was sending these items to comfort the boss’s girlfriend, because the box was filled with items that girls like to eat, including two large bags of brown sugar.
Over in M Country, 72 hours later, when Ding Jinshi received the items, though she had already recovered from the ordeal of her cramps by then, she still hugged the box and cried alone in her room uncontrollably.
She hadn’t expected that the casual words she spoke to Ding Long were rembered by him so vividly.
On the night she returned from the small town, while lying in bed with Ding Long, she ntioned missing things from ho—malt candy, fried dough twists, candied hawthorns. The things she ntioned appeared before her just days later, along with several packets of brown sugar.
