"Nonsense, you definitely slled it wrong! Want to check again?" Ding Long said, getting up and leaning over towards Ding Jinshi, seemingly insisting that Ding Jinshi sll clearly. Ding Jinshi laughed uncontrollably and backed away, but in the end, a tragedy occurred; amidst the playful laughter, Ding Jinshi and Ding Long weren’t careful and ended up falling off the bed with a thud.
"Ding Long!" Ding Jinshi got up from the floor, stomping her feet in frustration, "You’re sleeping on the floor tonight! No, under the bed!"
The bed wasn’t high, and there was carpet on both sides, so Ding Long didn’t worry about Ding Jinshi getting hurt. Seeing her fuming expression, Ding Long found it even more amusing.
"Alright, co here, let check." Ding Long waved his hand at Ding Jinshi, "Let see if your fever’s gone?"
Ding Jinshi shook her head, touched her own forehead, and said, "It should have subsided. I felt much better when I woke up, my head isn’t heavy, and it doesn’t hurt anymore."
"That’s good, put on your clothes and let’s go out for so food." Seeing this, Ding Long finally felt relieved.
"It’s so cold! Can you buy it and bring it back?" Ding Jinshi pouted, "I just got over the fever, going out and catching a cold wind will make it co back."
"How long has it been since you’ve aired out your room? Go out, open the doors and windows to get so fresh air, it helps your cold heal faster." With that, Ding Long put on his coat and urged Ding Jinshi, "You can’t just stay cooped up and not go out all day, getting out for a walk is good too. Hurry up, I’m waiting for you at the door, don’t keep waiting too long. I’m impatient and will co in to drag you out like when we were kids, don’t say I’m not giving you face then."
"Ding Long, you’re not being gentle with girls, you’ll never get a wife like this!" Ding Jinshi replied, pouting, then directly pushed Ding Long out the door, slamming it shut right in front of him, clearly doing it on purpose.
A short while later, Ding Jinshi, shivering like a sieve, followed Ding Long out the door. On their way to the canteen, she almost clung to Ding Long to absorb his warmth, frequently scolding Ding Long who insisted on dragging her out, "See? It’s freezing! You could’ve just co out to buy so bread and milk. You must have intentionally dragged out to suffer with you."
Ding Long just smiled as he listened to Ding Jinshi grumble like a little wife all the way to the canteen. He remarked that Ding Jinshi was naturally noisy and restless; if not for the deep hurt he and Lan Li caused her back then, she wouldn’t have changed so much in those few years.
There were quite a few of Ding Jinshi’s classmates in the school canteen. Seeing Ding Jinshi and Ding Long co together, everyone greeted them, looking at Ding Long with so curiosity like they were in a museum.
It’s understandable, Ding Long was once a soldier, and he still carried the aura of a soldier, with a tall stature and a commanding presence even when silent and expressionless. The most notable thing is his sowhat delicate Eastern masculine features; he seed tough but not rigid, with delicate looks yet none of the softness in his deanor, making people take a second look.
"My classmates said you look especially handso!"
After finding a seat, Ding Jinshi teased Ding Long playfully a few tis, "Ding Long, do you like blond-haired, blue-eyed girls? You might consider finding a foreign girl to marry and have a mixed-race child. I’m telling you, mixed-race kids are never anything but beautiful!"
