Since they got married, it was the first ti Ding Long saw Ding Jinshi smile upon his early return from a business trip. As soon as he reached the entrance, he heard Ding Jinshi and Xi-ma laughing. He didn’t know what they were talking about, but Ding Jinshi’s crisp laughter made him feel nostalgic. Ding Long wondered how long it had been since he last saw Ding Jinshi laugh like that?

Counting down the years, exactly how long had it been? He couldn’t quite rember himself.

"Sir, you’ve returned?" Xi-ma reacted first upon hearing the door opening and walked toward Ding Long, taking the things from his hands before calling out to Ding Jinshi in the living room, "Madam, Sir is back."

Perhaps due to her good mood, Ding Jinshi turned her head with remnants of a smile still lingering, though her tone wasn’t as light as when she was laughing, it was softer than usual. She asked, "Didn’t you say on the phone with Xi-ma that you’d be back in a couple of days? Why did you suddenly co back now?"

"I finished my business and ca back early." Ding Long approached Ding Jinshi naturally, wrapping his arm around her waist, and gave her a gentle kiss on her gradually stiffening face. He asked, "What were you talking about with Xi-ma earlier? You both seed so happy."

Ding Jinshi pushed Ding Long slightly but couldn’t move him, and her expression turned back to an icy deanor due to Ding Long’s affection, replying, "It’s none of your business." Her tone was just the sa as before Ding Long left.

"Sir, I was just telling Madam about sothing amusing I encountered while grocery shopping this morning," Xi-ma responded quickly, probably fearing that the couple’s interaction was awkward for Ding Long. She subtly felt that the couple’s relationship was strange, but dared not inquire further, and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Ding Long nodded towards Xi-ma, then released Ding Jinshi, saying, "I’ll go upstairs to shower and change into sothing comfortable."

As expected, Ding Jinshi stepped back two paces and did not respond.

Ding Long didn’t get angry, going upstairs directly, with a hint of a smile at the corner of his lips. He thought perhaps Xi-ma should get a raise because she was the only one who could make Ding Jinshi smile.

Upon going upstairs, Ding Long glanced at the disheveled bedspread and couldn’t help but chuckle. Ding Jinshi, in this aspect, was still like a child. After getting up, she’d push aside the bedspread without bothering to tidy it, and it was hanging off the side, probably from her nap earlier.

Ding Long walked over, bent down to shake the bedspread, then swiftly folded it into a neat square—a habit from his many years in the military. He saw a pearl earring that fell on the bed and picked it up, intending to place it back on her side of the bedside table.

However, upon pulling open the drawer, Ding Long first noticed sothing resembling a dicine bottle. He put the earring inside, picked up the dicine bottle, and upon inspection, his face turned dark!

Clenching the bottle tightly, Ding Long stood up abruptly, walked out of the room, and stood at the top of the stairs, calling coldly, "Ding Jinshi, co up."

His voice carried a sharp chill, painfully apparent. Downstairs, Ding Jinshi’s body froze montarily, rembering the dicine she had casually left in the bedside drawer after taking it.
