He Zhilan squinted her eyes slightly, opened her mouth, and took the food into her mouth to chew slowly. After swallowing, she suddenly said, "It doesn’t sll as good as what you used to cook."
"The hospital advised you to eat less salt lately, so I didn’t add much soy sauce because it’s salty. Not tasty?" He Teng laughed, "Ada added red dates and goji berries to the pigeon soup. It’s quite fragrant, just mix a bite of rice and a sip of soup. Once you’re feeling better, I’ll make so flavorful dishes for you."
"I can even eat spicy food like a champ now. Got trained in the village," He Zhilan nodded, without a hint of complaint. Although the food was tasteless, she still finished the whole bowl of rice and soup with a good appetite.
Outside, He Dad was discussing with He Hongi about letting her and Liang Tao leave early. He Teng ca out with an empty bowl, and the three of them paused their conversation, all looking at He Teng. He Dad asked, "How much did you eat?"
"All of it," He Teng smiled.
At this mont, the three of them truly sighed with relief, He Hongi said, "When in a good mood, appetite follows. Eating well ans the body can slowly recover."
He Dongxue was also eating at the table beside them, but she ate a dish that He Da had reprocessed, eating contentedly.
"My mom says Dongxue will eat well and in the future will be very fertile." Lin Chan suddenly said, making He Dongxue spit out a mouthful of rice directly onto his handso face.
Lin Chan wiped it off indifferently, shaking his head repeatedly, "But I just can’t cook. How about, Second Brother, you teach a few tricks these days? Otherwise, if I marry Dongxue in the future, what if she despises for not being able to cook?"
After Lin Chan finished speaking, his foot was heavily stepped on by He Dongxue. He looked at He Dongxue while shaking his foot and said, "Future wife, don’t be angry. At worst, we’ll move next to Second Brother. When Dad and Second Brother have a al, I’ll pull you along to freeload!"
It’s safe to say Lin Chan is the ultimate cheeky rascal, give him a bit of sunlight and he’ll turn it into a vibrant sumr day.
"You haven’t even got a stroke on the character, and you’re already calling him Dad and Second Brother." He Zhilan happened to hear Lin Chan’s shaless words as she ca out of the room. She laughed, "Then when should you start calling Sister-in-law?"
Lin Chan rubbed his foot, glanced at He Dongxue, and quietly backed away, saying, "Sister-in-law, why aren’t you lying down inside resting."
At this mont, everyone in the room burst into laughter, even He Teng, who had just walked out of the kitchen, was shaking his shoulders.
"Lin Chan, you really have so nerve." He Teng shook his head, walked over to He Zhilan, and asked, "What’s up? Ate too much to sleep?"
"I need to go to the bathroom," He Zhilan replied.
"I’ll help you go in. Later, don’t use cold water to wash your hands, I’ll go to the kitchen to get so boiled water for you to mix with cold if you want to wash." He Teng advised.
He Hongi and Liang Tao took a plane and left the capital the next afternoon. Here in the capital, He Dad and the whole family were taking care of He Zhilan. They couldn’t stay even if they wanted to, as it ant renting an extra room for them, and there were elders at ho who needed care and companionship. Since seeing He Zhilan regain her appetite and being able to joke, they decided to return ho with peace of mind.
There’s been no progress in the child’s matter for now, but the people who went out to investigate have slowly pieced together Lan Song’s parents’ movents during this ti. Eventually, through investigation at the train station, it was confird that when Lan Song’s parents boarded the train to return to the capital, they didn’t have the child with them. So, the child was likely left by Lan Song’s parents in that city. However, from the disturbance at the city hospital to Lan Li’s parents boarding the train back to the capital was only a day’s difference, so for now, it’s still unclear where exactly in the city the child might be.
