No one would give Chen Yun an answer to all his questions because the insane have already died. As they said before their death, dying was a relief for them.
After arranging everything properly, Chen Yun had Gu Hengyuan sent back to the cell. He glanced at Gu Mother but ultimately didn’t go over to comfort her. Instead, he ordered his team to return to the police station, while he and a few colleagues rushed to the hospital.
When they arrived at the hospital, both the Gu Matriarch and He Zhilan were still undergoing ergency treatnt. Chen Yun went directly outside He Zhilan’s operating room to find He Teng and Bian Muhe, and asked, "Did the doctor say how it is looking?"
Bian Muhe shook his head, "Zhilan’s situation isn’t clear at the mont, but the Gu Matriarch is not doing well. After all, she is elderly, and losing the Old Master was a heavy blow to her. Later, all these things happened with the Gu Family. Even though she went to the countryside to recuperate, her health was no longer what it used to be. Many unexpected incidents occurred during the surgery, and she’s still in ergency care, but..."
At this point, Bian Muhe paused and sighed, "Get through to soone, have Gu Hengyuan brought to the hospital. The old lady might not have many more chances to see him." Bian Muhe implied that the Gu Matriarch may not survive the surgery.
As if to verify Bian Muhe’s words imdiately, a nurse rushed over to their side, and upon seeing Bian Muhe, she panted and said, "Director Bian, the Gu Matriarch didn’t make it. She’s passed away."
Bian Muhe, Chen Yun, and the others were struck dumb on the spot, shocked.
"Go inform them to bring the Gu family, including Gu Hengyuan, to the hospital so they can arrange the Gu Matriarch’s funeral." Chen Yun dialed his subordinate, and after hanging up, silently sighed. Another life lost at the hands of Lan Song’s parents. Speaking of which, Lan Song’s parents died far too effortlessly.

Nobody responded to Qi Chengnan’s remark, but undoubtedly, everyone’s resentnt towards Gu En deepened.
Over an hour later, the operating room finally opened, and the doctors all wore expressions of fatigue.
When He Zhilan was wheeled out, her eyes were open, yet she stared blankly into space. He Teng and the others approached her, constantly calling her na, yet she didn’t even blink.
"The patient has nearly no will to live; she solely desires death. When we first started the rescue, she struggled fiercely. Later, we had no choice but to sedate her, after which she remained still and silent, just keeping her eyes wide open." The doctor shook his head. "She has suffered too great a shock. Judging from her condition, she might again have suicidal thoughts. You all must watch over her closely. Don’t let her have another accident. She just gave birth, her body can’t withstand much more. Another turmoil, and it wouldn’t take wrist-cutting to die."
"We understand, thank you." Bian Muhe thanked the doctor, gazing at He Zhilan lying on the bed with deep concern.
"So young, going through so many hardships. Ah, it’s heartbreaking just to watch," the doctor lanted, then asked a nurse to take He Zhilan to her room before he turned to leave.
All along the way, He Teng held tightly to He Zhilan’s other hand, not daring to let go for even a second.
