Seeing everyone’s varied expressions, Lin Chan sighed and shook her head, "Let’s not talk about Lin Deng anymore." Then she shifted her gaze to Muhe and asked, "What’s going on with He Dongxue these past couple of days? She seems to be in a bad mood and her temper is flaring. Is sothing bothering her at the hospital?"
"With at the hospital, what could possibly bother her?" Muhe chuckled, "She’s practically a treasure there. Who would dare upset her? Honestly, I thought it might be sothing you did recently that put her in a bad mood."
"? I’ve been so busy I’ve barely kept my head on straight. I’ve only been to your hospital a few tis recently. It’s been days since I last saw her. But when I went to look for her at the hospital today, I found her irritable and moody," Lin Chan laughed cheekily. "Of course, especially towards . With her colleagues, she’s still polite as usual. But I know for sure I didn’t do anything to upset her."
As fate would have it, He Dongxue overheard Lin Chan’s words while bringing out a plate of fruit from the kitchen. She cleared her throat loudly to signal her presence to those in the living room, then strode over and shot a glance at Lin Chan, "What? I lose my temper at you, and now you feel wronged?"
"See? This is why people say you should keep your mouth shut and not talk about others behind their backs," Chen Yun teased lightly, sneaking a glance at Lin Chan, whose expression froze for a few seconds before she burst out laughing.
"If you want not to feel wronged, shouldn’t you at least explain the reason?" Lin Chan grinned shalessly as she stood up, took the fruit plate from He Dongxue’s hands, and patted the spot beside her, gesturing for He Dongxue to sit. He Dongxue just glared at him before turning back to the kitchen.
"He Teng, Dongxue’s temper is getting worse and worse," Muhe teased.
He Teng caught Muhe’s hint imdiately. Even though He Dongxue was temperantal, she had never been the type to throw tantrums without reason. She was soone who tended to keep things bottled up, rarely sharing her thoughts. Muhe was indirectly nudging him to step in as her elder brother and show so concern for her.
As for He Teng, he’d been so busy lately that he hadn’t even noticed He Dongxue’s mood shift. If Lin Chan hadn’t brought it up, he really wouldn’t have known that she’d been losing her temper.
Now that he knew, there was no way he would sit in the living room pretending not to know while chatting with the others.
"Dongxue, let’s take a walk in the yard," He Teng called out to He Dongxue in the kitchen. After thinking it over for a second, He Dongxue nodded, wiped her hands, and followed He Teng out through the kitchen’s side door to the yard.
The Xing Family’s yard wasn’t very large, but it was filled with various flowers and plants. In the October weather, the garden flowers had mostly stopped blooming. Only a few rose bushes in the corner near the garden wall were still budding.
He Teng led He Dongxue to the rose bushes and stopped, "If sothing’s bothering you, can’t you tell ? Did Lin Chan make you upset?"
"Brother, honestly, it doesn’t have much to do with Lin Chan. He’s been busy recently and hasn’t been looking for much. I just happen to have bottled-up frustration and vented it at him. Honestly, it’s not fair of to act this way," He Dongxue admitted. She herself didn’t understand why her anger always seed to find its way to Lin Chan. Despite spending so much ti with Muhe, she’d never taken her moods out on him.
Today, the mont she saw Lin Chan, all the irritation she’d been suppressing for days suddenly surged up and spilled over.
"Is sothing bothering you?" He Teng was slightly taken aback by her explanation and started to piece together why her temper seed so specifically directed at Lin Chan.
