When Sandy had just spoken, Leon clearly noticed the unhidden look she shot his way, as if hinting there was sothing she wanted to discuss with him in private.
Because there were many people around, Leon didn’t put the Galaxy lon Blade into his System Backpack. Instead, he kept it in his hand and returned to the Oasis Store with the three won.
Back in the store, Sandy imdiately prepared chilled cal’s milk and ice cream for everyone, helping to rehydrate them after the scorching heat outside.
After the four of them had rested together for a while, Sandy suddenly said, “Leon, want to take a look at so rare seeds I have here? You might find them interesting.”
“Sure.” Leon stood up at once.
Sandy did the sa, but first reassured Emily and Abigail, making sure they would stay seated and not co over to watch. Only then did she lead Leon to the store’s counter.
Once there, Sandy spoke first. “Mr. Leon, what’s your view on matters of faith?”
“If you believe, it’s real. If you don’t, it’s not.” Leon froze for a mont, then gave his answer.
“An interesting perspective.” Sandy smiled, then glanced at the blade in Leon’s hand. “And what about this Galaxy weapon? What do you think of it?”
“Oh? Sandy, you seem quite familiar with this kind of weapon. You even know its na.” Leon didn’t answer her question directly. Instead, he countered with one of his own.
“Well, the oasis has been here for a long ti. Even if I’m not interested, I’ve still picked up bits of information over ti.” Sandy didn’t hide anything and spoke slowly.
“You’re not the first to obtain a Galaxy weapon, nor will you be the last. But what surprises
is that I’ve seen the Galaxy Sword, the Galaxy Dagger, and the Galaxy Hamr… yet never a weapon like yours. This is a brand new discovery. I’d like to report it to my boss—would you mind?”
“I don’t mind. But… can I et your boss?” Leon had already guessed who she ant.
Mr. Qi’s club was right above Sandy’s place—no way they had no connection. Now that she said she wanted to report to her boss, it was obvious she ant Mr. Qi.
Sandy shrugged, propping her chin with one hand against the counter. “If the boss wanted to et you, he would have appeared the mont you set foot in the desert. Since he hasn’t, well… that says it all. But I think you’ll et him soday.”
Leon felt she had a point. Sooner or later, he’d et Mr. Qi—no need to rush.
After all, the only reason Leon wanted to see him was to gather information. Stardew Valley held far too many secrets—especially the farm he had inherited.
“So, you invited
to a barbecue just for this?”
When Sandy didn’t speak for a while, Leon asked, a bit speechless.
“The barbecue was because I wanted it. And since Emily brought a friend to visit , of course I’d host them. But yes, that was the only question. By the way, do you have any questions for ?” Sandy smiled and raised an eyebrow in teasing.
“Like whether I’m single? Or if I’ve thought about finding a boyfriend?”
“Sorry. Not interested.” Leon rejected her without hesitation.
“Why? Am I not pretty?” Sandy straightened up with a frown, deliberately puffing out her chest to show the confidence behind her words.
“You’re pretty. But I’m not sure how old you are—and that makes
a little uneasy.” Leon shook his head and said it bluntly.
“My age? How old do you think I am?” Sandy bit her lip, glaring at him.
“Probably much older than ,” Leon answered seriously.
“And where did you get that idea?” Sandy quickly dropped her earlier expression, returning to a calm, casual deanor.
“Your bracelet.” Leon pointed at the silver wave-cross bracelet on her arm.
“I’ve seen that design in the museum in Zuzu City. The description said it was a piece commonly worn by noblewon three hundred years ago, blessed by Yoba.”
“Couldn’t it be an heirloom? Or a replica?” Sandy instinctively hid her hand behind her back, but a mont later she brought it out again, openly showing it to him.
“I thought that at first. But after what you just said, I’m certain it’s genuine. What I’m curious about is—have you really lived for over three hundred years?” Leon glanced at the bracelet and pressed the question.
“No one lives that long. My mother left it to
when she passed away forty years ago. I’ve worn it ever since.” Sandy’s gaze lingered on the bracelet as she spoke softly.
Her words made Leon’s expression complicated. If Sandy had worn it since her mother died forty years ago, then she was at least forty-plus. As for how much older… only she knew.
Noticing his expression, Sandy smiled. “What is it? Do I look like a witch from a fairy tale—ancient in years, yet still with the face of a young girl?”
“I’m more curious about your secret for staying young.”
No one wants a shorter life, and Leon was no exception.
“A secret, huh? If you want to know, go find out for yourself. I won’t tell you—that would ruin the fun.” Sandy seed surprised at his question, but still chose to brush it off.
“I hate riddlers.” Leon rolled his eyes at her. Then he asked, “By the way, Sandy ans ‘full of sand’—that’s probably not your real na, is it?”
“It’s just a na for work. In the Calico Desert, you need sothing that fits the setting. As for my real na… I’ve long since forgotten it.” Sandy’s face took on an aged lancholy that didn’t match her youthful appearance.
“How did you et Emily?” Leon quickly changed the topic, feeling that expression didn’t suit her.
“Of course it was when she ca to shop at the Oasis Store. We clicked right away and beca friends easily.” Sandy replied.
“Not because of her special traits?” Leon narrowed his eyes.
“Well, you know quite a lot. Did you figure that out yourself, or did soone tell you?” Sandy looked at him with genuine curiosity.
“Other than Emily… Abigail probably has so kind of hidden special talent too, doesn’t she?”
Leon hadn’t expected his probing to get any confirmation, so he followed up with another question that had been on his mind.
“That’s not wrong. But she’s different from Emily. And you’d best not ddle with her special traits—just treat her like any other ordinary girl.” Sandy gave him a aningful look as she said this.
