Mortis
It had been a while since Daimon had been to the realm of Mortis. The last time he was there was when he was still learning about the Force from the Father, Daughter, and the Son.
Since then, things have remained the same. The Father kept the balance between the Son Daughter as he had been doing for eons. And that was destined to for many more eons. But the Son's thirst for power ever since he was beat by Daimon had increased and only grew stronger since their last encounter.
And because of this, he had been growing stronger than his sister, which began to disrupt the balance between the two. The Father still tried his best to maintain the balance, but with one side over taking the other it wasn't as easy.
And all of that had fallen apart, a few days before the Republic-Sith war started. The Son had continued to cause the imbalance to grow, which in turn weakened the father who so desperately tried to maintain the balance on Mortis.
But it was at the cost of his own Force energy, which weakened him. And in the middle of this weakness, the Son decided to take advantage.
The Father knelt before the great dais that overlooked Mortis, his hands trembling against the stone. Once, his presence was enough to calm the raging storms caused by the Son. Now the Force around him was unstable.
Behind him, the Daughter watched with growing fear. "You're exhausting yourself again," she said softly.
The Father responded with a tired smile. "There is no other choice. Your Brother grows worse by the day."
The Daughter stepped closer. "Then let me confront him." she said.
The Father turned and looked at her. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes that the Daughter could see.
"And begin the war he desires?" responded the Father. He knew what the Son was attempting to do. And he was trying his hardest to prevent it from happening.
"The war has already begun Father." replied the Daughter.
Far below the temple, thunder struck the ground and a storm raged.
The Son stood alone within the obsidian chambers beneath Mortis, surrounded by fractures spreading through the walls like veins. Black fire covered his hands as he stared into visions cast by the Force itself.
What it showed was worlds burning before him, armies being shattered, and a golden giant filled with immense power standing atop mountains of corpses.
He knew that this figure was Daimon.
Even now, the memory of defeat gnawed at him. Humiliation and Weakness is what he felt. He spent untold tens of thousands of years believing himself destined to dominate all creation, only to be cast aside by a mortal seeking to become a god.
That humiliation had become obsession. And obsession had transformed into clarity. He could not remain imprisoned on Mortis forever.
The galaxy beyond was in chaos. Infinite life, infinite death, and infinite servants waiting to kneel. Once he escaped Mortis, the Killiks were his first target. They had used them before in the past to deal with Abeloth, so he knew how good they would be serving him.
They were an ancient Hive-minded species that could grow at a fast rate. This was perfect for him as it would provide him with an army vast enough to drown systems, and vast enough to challenge even Daimon's Imperium.
Thinking about how close he was, the Son smiled. He couldn't wait any longer, so he released a massive wave of Force energy and the chamber exploded.
Darkness surged through Mortis like a tidal wave as the Son ascended toward the temple in a cyclone of black lightning.
The Daughter sensed him first. "Father…." she called out, but it was too late.
The Son crashed onto the dais with enough force to split the stone beneath them.
"You hide me here like an animal," he snarled, eyes burning with anger. "While the galaxy rots beyond our reach."
The Father rose slowly. "You are not ready for what lies beyond Mortis."
"I am beyond this place." replied the Son as he didn't waste any more time and attacked.
A wave of Force energy erupted from his hands, heading straight for the Father. The Father countered with his own Force energy, but he was weaker now, far weaker than he had once been.
The temple shook apart around them, while the Daughter joined the battle. She formed a Force blade in her hands and dashed toward her brother, swinging her blade at him.
The Son caught her wrist mid-strike and drove dark energy directly into her chest.
"Ahh!!" She cried out as the dark energy blasted her backward across the platform.
"Daughter!" the Father shouted, looking away from the Son.
Using this chance, the Son pulled out the dagger of Mortis and pierced through the Father's chest.
Silence fell across Mortis as the Father stared at his son. He wasn't full of anger or fearful. He was just disappointed in the Son.
"You bring ruin… to everything…" was his last words as the light left his eyes.
The Balance that had persisted in Mortis for eons had shattered. The skies turned black and the Son used this chance to escape. He fled Mortis, leaving his unconscious Sister to live with the fact that her Father is dead and her Brother has left her alone.
The Son immediately went to Yoggoy, the place where the Killiks hives were at. There he would start amassing his army and building his empire.
A few days after this, the Daughter had finally woke up. But she was weak, because Mortis was slowly draining her Force energy with the balance being thrown off. There was nobody here to save her, so she reached out to the only person she could think of.
"Daimon," she called out into the Force. But because she was weakened, it didn't reach him. Still, this didn't stop her as she kept trying again and again.
Eventually, Daimon heard her calling out to him. Not only did he hear her, but he could feel how weak she was and he knew he needed to act. He put down everything that he was doing and took his ship to where the entrance to Mortis was located.
It took a few days, but he had arrived.
"My lord, what are we doing here?" asked Maxim.
"An old acquaintance seems to be in trouble." he responded.
Maxim nodded. He didn't know where they were, but what he did know was that this region of space had been marked as off limits to everybody, even military ships.
As they approached the entrance, Daimon took a shuttle with just him and Cortana and headed into the Realm of Mortis.
Once they were inside, he could feel the imbalance. There was something that was already draining a small amount of his Force energy every second. It wasn't enough to really cause him damage, but he would rather not be here any long than he needed to.
He used the Force and guided the pilot to where the Daughter was. When they arrived, the Daughter was laying on the ground, the light almost gone from her body.
Daimon got out and picked her up. She faintly opened her eyes, looked at him, then closed them again.
He had so many questions, but he needed to get her out of here before her energy was completely drained. He walked back onto the shuttle as Cortana started to examine her. "Her connection to this realm is what is killing her," Cortana said.
"The imbalance here is acting like a wound that won't close. Every moment we remain on Mortis, the drain accelerates."
"Then we leave now," Daimon said.
The pilot took off and they headed back through the light, leaving Mortis. The onboard medical droid worked on her as they left. Once they were on the ship, she was transported to the onboard medical facility where she was examined and treated by medical droids, doctors, and some Balance Keepers who knew Force Healing.
But the efforts from all the medical droids, doctors, and Balance Keepers weren't doing much. So Daimon came down there and gave her some of his Force energy which helped stabilize her until they reached Veldari.
The trip lasted a few days. Once they made it back to Veldari, the Daughter was transported to the Palace's medical facility. Since Veldari was a Force Nexus, the Daughter started to get better as the days passed.
Daimon waited patiently for her to wake up to finally know what was going on. From what he saw, he could guess that it was something to do with the Son, but he wanted to know more.
He didn't know if the Father was either dead or alive as he didn't feel his presence when he was on Mortis. Plus, he couldn't imagine why the Daughter would reach out to him if the Father was alive.
With all this happening, he could see things getting a lot darker, before they got brighter.
