Nightfall Bar.
"Damn it! That dog of a man!" Tao Junle slamd her glass onto the table, her fury not dimd by the flickering lights.
"What's he playing at? He wouldn't agree to break up before, and now, just a few days later, he's getting engaged?!"
A thought struck Tao Junle, and she glared as she spoke, "He's not planning to have one at ho and one on the side, is he?"
"That's impossible," Xiang-Nuan shook her head.
"The ss with was too big. The Zhao family would demand a clean break for an alliance. Even if he wanted to keep soone on the side, it wouldn't be . I was probably just a shield for him."
"Gong-Nian?!" Tao Junle blurted out.
Xiang-Nuan downed a drink, her expression indifferent, "Whatever. Let him do as he pleases. My contract ends at the year's close. By then, it should all be over."
She owed him, after all. This was her way of paying him back.
Tao Junle ground her teeth in anger, "Have you beco a nun, to endure all this?!"
Xiang-Nuan smiled, "With all my worldly desires, how could I?"
Suddenly, an unexpected voice called out, "Xiang-Nuan?"
Looking up, Xiang-Nuan saw Gong-Nian greeting her with a beaming smile.
Xiang-Nuan was montarily stunned before she greeted back, "Mrs. Gong."
"What a coincidence to see you here. Yanshi and I heard this bar was great and decided to check it out. Didn't expect to run into you."
Xiang-Nuan smiled, "Quite the coincidence."
"Indeed, I'm surprised too. You've beco a pariah, yet you dare to show your face. Aren't you afraid of getting hit?"
"As entertainers, facing universal criticism is normal. I have the ntal fortitude for it."
Gong-Nian scoffed, "That's shalessly bold."
"Who are you calling shaless?!" Tao Junle slamd the table and stood up.
"You talk about sha? Married and still luring n on the side!"
Gong-Nian's face turned beet red, "What did you say?!"
Xiang-Nuan quickly pulled Tao Junle back, but Tao Junle couldn't swallow her anger.
Tao Junle sneered, "What did I say? Are you pretending or truly clueless? Your skin's thicker than city walls!"
Gong-Nian trembled with rage, grabbing a glass from the table to throw in her face.
Xiang-Nuan swiftly caught her wrist.
The next mont, Tao Junle splashed the contents of a glass onto Gong-Nian's face.
Gong-Nian scread, "How dare you splash ?!"
"So what if I did?!"
Gong-Nian suddenly toned down her arrogance, covering her face and starting to cry.
This startled Tao Junle, who had braced for a fight. What was this woman's ga?
"What's going on?"
A private room door swung open, and Shen Yanshi erged.
Tao Junle was taken aback. Shen Yanshi was here too?
Gong-Nian, looking pitiful and sobbing, said, "They, they bullied ."
Shen Yanshi glanced at Xiang-Nuan, who pressed her lips together, silent.
He took off his suit jacket and draped it over Gong-Nian, "I'll take you ho."
After they left, Tao Junle cursed, "She's wasted not being an actress. One mont she's provocatively arrogant, the next she's playing the damsel. I should've smashed the glass right into her face!"
Xiang-Nuan tugged at the corner of her mouth, whether a smile or not, she simply picked up a glass from the table and drained it in one gulp.
