937: 942 Birthpath 937: 942 Birthpath “Run!

Run faster!”

Justin was already running for his life, and though his physical fitness was decent, how could he compare with Yang Yi?

Despite Kate and Xiao Ran being won, their speed was nothing to scoff at.

So, Justin quickly fell behind.

“Wait for !

Wait up!”

Justin panicked and started shouting.

Yang Yi was running and firing his gun; after five shots, he had to slam on the brakes and stop because he had missed every shot.

While running, aiming a handgun at a target was simply beyond Yang Yi’s capabilities; he either had to stop or crash into the enemies head-on.

It was Xiao Ran who fired a shot.

The enemy running towards them fell to the ground, and Yang Yi, having stopped, raised his gun once more and finally hit the downed enemy.

Enemies didn’t operate alone; after the first one was hit by Xiao Ran and then finished off by their own, the following enemies barely showed their faces before retreating.

Everyone was panicking now.

There were only three of them, Yang Yi’s group, with only one handgun that had run out of ammunition and couldn’t be reloaded, and they were saddled with Justin as dead weight.

As for the enemies, their situation wasn’t great either; a sudden appearance had caught them off guard, and to those few individuals, such a death seed too terrible.

Eventually, Yang Yi’s group slowed, and Justin finally caught up to Yang Yi, panting heavily and asking in panic, “Why are there so many people?

Why are there so many?”

Yang Yi was puzzled.

Although it wasn’t the ti for chatting, he couldn’t help but reply irritably, “You don’t know?

The trouble you caused, you don’t know how many people are out to kill you?”

“I only saw two people when I was hiding in the dumpster, how would I know there were so many?

With so many people, why didn’t you let keep hiding!”

Yang Yi was both angry and anxious, but how could he afford to argue with Justin at this crucial mont, with dozens of pursuers about to catch up after just a turn.

“Charge through!”

Yang Yi had to make a decision; charging ahead ant passing a gate guarded by enemies, and there were definitely enemies inside.

Yang Yi grabbed Justin and dragged him forward as they ran.

They couldn’t fight, and rely running ant handing over control to the enemies, but now Yang Yi had no way to deal with the blocking enemies and then escape; waiting even a mont would tangle them with the pursuers behind.

Even if the enemies only had handguns, the chance of escaping from dozens of guns firing was nonexistent.

“Let go of !

Don’t need to drag …”

To Yang Yi’s surprise, Justin tried to wriggle free of his grasp.

“I can run by myself!”

As if seeing through Yang Yi’s thoughts, Justin refused to let Yang Yi drag him along.

They had to get through the enemy’s blockade.

Yang Yi kept Justin on his left side, which was the side where the enemies were.

If anyone inside was waiting to shoot as Yang Yi passed by, Justin could still shield him, and in that way, Yang Yi could fight back or take the opportunity to break through.

In any case, while together with Justin, the enemies’ attention was bound to be on Justin.

Justin was like a rare commodity to Yang Yi, and it was only because of their past friendship that Yang Yi was willing to risk his life to save Justin.

The notion of Yang Yi taking a bullet for Justin was absolutely impossible.

And how could Justin possibly break free from Yang Yi’s grip on his elbow?

Yang Yi’s hands were no joke, dislocating joints as if it were child’s play.

He was nicknad the Throat-Slitting Maniac, but that was rely a small preference when he got hands-on.

Once he got hold of an arm, it was like being clamped in an iron grip; escaping was unthinkable.

At least, it was impossible for Justin to break free.

Justin was dragged along, stumbling and lurching forward.

Just then, as soone had just co out, been shot dead, and retreated back through that door, suddenly soone else stumbled out as if they were pushed.

A person with a face full of terror erged, imdiately raised their handgun, but as they aid at Yang Yi, they subconsciously veered the gun toward Justin.

Justin put a hand in front of his face, instinctively about to duck down.

Yang Yi fired two shots in rapid succession, hitting his opponent in the chest, while Xiao Ran followed closely behind with a bullet to the enemy’s head.

What was this situation?

Just as, Yang Yi was stupefied, he saw a middle-aged man with a big belly howling and charging out, firing two shots straight at Yang Yi.

The fat man was shooting from the mont he erged, so Yang Yi couldn’t possibly have killed him before he fired, but this blind thod of shooting posed little threat.

Two people ca out offering themselves up for death, leaving Yang Yi sowhat astonished, while Xiao Ran passed him and took a glance inside the door.

“It’s a restaurant!

There’s no one inside!”

No one inside?

Yang Yi pulled Justin up and then took a look inside as well.

It was a restaurant’s back door and, looking through the open entrance, one could see a tal cabinet filled with kitchen utensils.

If there was a back door, there was a front door.

When chased by dozens of people, not knowing how many blockades lay ahead, spotting such a path that wasn’t dead-end ant hope.

“Go in!”

Yang Yi pushed Justin through the door, and Xiao Ran led the way with her gun, with Kate quickly slipping through right after her.

And just as Kate had barely entered, a burst of bullets hit the brick wall and door fra.

Xiao Ran was the first to rush into the restaurant’s kitchen.

Cooks and kitchen hands were inside; now, all of them stood with their hands up in the corner, staring dumbfounded as Xiao Ran sprinted past them.

Finally, Yang Yi let go of Justin’s arm.

He casually picked up a knife from the cutting board, a filet knife specifically used for fish—light, thin, and sharply pointed.

Feeling that there was no threat ahead, Xiao Ran turned back, brushing past Yang Yi, and then she and Kate took up positions with their guns facing the rear, quickly sidestepping their way back.

Through the kitchen and down a long corridor, Yang Yi and his group arrived in the restaurant’s main hall, where many diners still sat.

First was Justin, reeking, bursting out from the kitchen, closely followed by Yang Yi, who brandished a gun in one hand and a knife in the other.

As the patrons in the hall caught sight of the two n, the previously leisurely and comfortable atmosphere was shattered in an instant, and screams erupted.

Yang Yi felt curious—couldn’t these people have heard the gunshots from the back alley just now?

It seed they hadn’t heard.

Yang Yi was the first to burst out of the restaurant.

He glanced left and right but didn’t spot anyone particularly troubleso, and he saw a car that had just stopped, reversing into a parking space.

Yang Yi kept both hands behind him, then briskly walked to the curb before suddenly brandishing his handgun at the driver, who, still unaware of anything unusual while looking back to reverse, yelled, “Get out of the car!”
