687: Chapter 693: Getting into Character 687: Chapter 693: Getting into Character Xiao Ran felt helpless.

As a sniper, she usually took the position of a precision shooter, but there were rarely occasions within the Organization of Water that required the use of guns to solve problems.

As a woman, there were many tis when it really wasn’t suitable for Xiao Ran to get involved, which made her incredibly frustrated.

What was even more frustrating was that the task of assassinating Feyel, which should have been hers, was ultimately completed by Yang Yi.

As the chief sniper of the Organization of Water, that’s how Xiao Ran saw herself, and yet as the chief sniper she found no use for her skills, which was unbearable.

However, Xiao Ran had eagerly traveled from Kiev to Odessa, not just because there was work to be done in Odessa but also because she couldn’t let Kate and Yang Yi have the chance to be alone together.

But even in Odessa, there was nothing for her to do, and Xiao Ran couldn’t stand it.

“Chris will play the role of Jefferson, myself, Anton, and Rodriguez will play his subordinates.

Jefferson is Arican, so everyone, watch your language when you speak.

Kate, you stay here, and Xiao Ran, you, too,”

Upon hearing Yang Yi’s arrangent, Xiao Ran’s eyebrows shot up, but she imdiately suppressed her temper and then tried to plead in a beseeching tone, “Don’t you need cover?”

Yang Yi spread his hands and said, “Think about it—would a small arms dealer from the United States co to Ukraine with won?

And have two Asians in his team, a man and a woman?

Please, it’s not that I don’t want to give you a chance, but you really aren’t suitable to appear.

Also, we are not going to force our way through this ti, let alone take out Pyatov, so unfortunately.”

Powerless, Xiao Ran waved her hand and said grumpily, “Fine, I got it; you don’t need to explain anymore.

Just saying I can’t go is enough.”

Kate just smiled and said nothing, appearing much more endearing in contrast to Xiao Ran’s emotionally charged complaints.

Xiao Ran thought the sa of herself and then couldn’t help but snort in her heart.

In her opinion, Kate was too good at playing the act, appearing all soft and cute in front of Yang Yi but turning fiercely unapproachable in front of others—hypocritical, nowhere as genuine as her.

Seeing Xiao Ran with a sad expression yet with nothing to say, Yang Yi stood up and said, “Rember our identities.

We’re arms dealers from the United States, and this ti we’re here to get the greatest benefit for the least cost.

We are a bunch of desperadoes, and we need to be fierce!”

Anton didn’t need a reminder from Yang Yi, and as for Chris, he could pull off both human and specter roles without anyone’s prompting.

Only Rodriguez imdiately nodded and said, “Got it, boss.

I’ll rember to be fierce!”

Yang Yi felt that Rodriguez was adorable, at least preventing his instructions from falling flat.

Waving his hand, Yang Yi announced loudly, “Let’s set off.”

The four n left their staying place, got into a car, and drove to the location agreed upon with Pyatov.

Pyatov was Kanchelskis’s brother-in-law and looked after Kanchelskis’s warehouse, which basically ant he was a glorified gatekeeper.

From Hubert, Yang Yi had obtained so information about Pyatov.

According to Hubert, Pyatov was a simple man—whatever his brother-in-law said went, which could be regarded as utterly loyal.

Aside from being sowhat naive, he was otherwise not bad, which earned him Kanchelskis’s trust.

Naive—this word fits well when applied to a young girl, but when placed on a man in his thirties, especially one involved in the underground world who could be killed at any mont, it’s nothing short of an insult.

In such a context, naivety could easily be interpreted as stupidity.

Yang Yi had Pyatov’s phone number, but he didn’t plan to call him directly.

If Pyatov was truly loyal to his brother-in-law, making a rash call was definitely not the proper choice.

If Pyatov inford Kanchelskis that soone was trying to contact him, they could easily blow their cover, which would likely ruin the operation.

Therefore, Yang Yi planned to et Pyatov face to face first, and then speak to him personally.

Pyatov was supposed to be living in the warehouse, which was part of his job.

Along with a team of guards, he ensured the safety of the warehouse goods.

But now at nine o’clock in the evening, Pyatov typically wouldn’t be in the warehouse.

He would often leave the port area to dine, perhaps visit a nightclub for entertainnt, or gamble in an underground casino, only returning to the warehouse around midnight.

There was also a slim chance he might go ho.

Yang Yi planned to deal with Pyatov in one go, as he probably wouldn’t get a second chance.

As soon as Kanchelskis found out soone was targeting his brother-in-law, things would certainly beco difficult.

Yang Yi and his team waited on the inevitable route to the port area, knowing the car Pyatov drove.

Knowing this, they didn’t need to search the entire city for Pyatov; they were sure to encounter him.

By half-past midnight, after having left at nine and waiting on the road to the port area, Yang Yi finally saw the car he was waiting for—a rcedes-Benz E-Class.

“Here it cos.”

Anton, who was lying in wait by the side of the road, said quietly into the walkie-talkie.

Gauging the speed of the rcedes, Yang Yi suddenly turned on his car lights and darted out from the hidden path.

Yang Yi blocked the road with his car.

If Pyatov’s car hadn’t stopped in ti, it would have crashed into them.

The forced-to-stop car opened its doors, and a man got out, smacked Yang Yi’s hood hard, and bellowed in Ukrainian, “Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

Yang Yi didn’t move.

Neither did Chris in the passenger seat.

At that mont, Anton and Rodriguez, who were hiding on either side of the road, suddenly appeared, with one gun pressing against the head of the man who had slapped Yang Yi’s car and another aid at the driver in the car.

Anton said coldly, “Don’t make a noise, or I’ll kill you.

Get back in your car, and go!”

Anton pushed the man back into the car while Rodriguez had already taken the passenger seat in the rcedes.

Yang Yi didn’t need to know what they said, he simply chuckled and said, “We’ve got him.”

Chris replied indifferently, “Hmm, follow them.”

The rcedes turned around, and without a word, Yang Yi started his car and followed.

The port area was so distance from the main city of Odessa.

The two cars left the port and took the main road, then followed a side road to a deserted field, where Yang Yi stopped his car.

Chris said coldly, “Get out and et our friend.”

Yang Yi looked at Chris in surprise—this guy had fully embraced his role, acting like the boss.
