646: Chapter 652: One Person 646: Chapter 652: One Person Playing a rcenary, he had to act exactly like one would.
In fact, Yang Yi did have technical ans to scout for people inside a building, naly using advanced gadgets to carry out reconnaissance first.
However, he did not want to reveal his other side in front of Jethro, so everything had to be done the rcenary way.
This ti, the target resided in an apartnt, which presented an obstacle right from entering the building because this was no ordinary apartnt, but a military dormitory, provided by the Ukrainian military for their officers and their families.
Although the apartnt was in Kiev’s urban area, not inside a military camp, there were still sentries at the main entrance, and an administrator inside.
Anyone from outside who wanted to get in had to register first.
Yang Yi detested making a move in such places, where the difficulty was high, and the slightest carelessness could blow his cover, turning an assassination into a frontal assault.
After the car stopped far away from the apartnt, Jethro turned to Yang Yi and asked, “With this situation, what do you think we should do?”
After pondering for a mont, Yang Yi replied, “Is this a target that must be eliminated, or one that can be persuaded to join our side?”
“There’s basically no chance of persuading him.
I don’t mind asking him if he’s changed his mind at the last minute, but it’s not likely to be of any significance.”
“Then you shouldn’t go in.
I’ll handle it myself and then we’ll leave.
Not everyone needs to enter this place.”
Surprised, Jethro asked, “You’re planning to go in alone?”
“Yes, I’ll go in alone and co out alone, it’s more convenient that way.”
Thinking it over, Jethro then took out a cell phone and said, “Then, take a photo for , just a photo will do.”
Yang Yi took the phone and asked, “No special requirents, right?”
Jethro shook his head, “No special requirents, just take out the nuisance.”
Yang Yi put the phone in his pocket and picked up a walkie-talkie, whispering, “It’s inconvenient with so many people around here, I should go alone.”
After a simple statent, Yang Yi opened the car door, got out by himself, and headed straight for the fence surrounding the officers’ dormitory.
There was a sentry at the entrance, so Yang Yi had to scale the fence.
There weren’t many pedestrians around, and after checking, he saw no caras.
He then put on his night vision goggles, took a couple of steps back and, after a running start, leaped high, catching hold of the two-man-high wall.
The top of the wall was lined with barbed wire, but Yang Yi, wearing puncture-resistant gloves, only felt the pressure of the barbed wire without injuring his hands.
Swinging his body with his arms, Yang Yi managed to get his feet onto the top of the wall, and then, utilizing his substantial upper body and core strength, he climbed over without having his clothes contact the barbs.
Glancing inside the compound, Yang Yi gently hopped down from the wall.
After scanning his surroundings, Yang Yi began searching for the apartnt he was targeting.
After a brief search, he saw the building he was looking for, number 7.
Every building had only one exit, and there was an administrator in each apartnt.
Yang Yi didn’t know whether the administrator would be asleep at this ti, as commonsense dictated that apartnt administrators were not soldiers; they weren’t required or expected to maintain a 24-hour vigil like the guards at the entrance.
Yang Yi slowly approached the building entrance.
The door was shut tight, and it was a cumberso set of wooden doors with not a single window on the upper part, which ant he couldn’t peer inside.
After a mont of thought, he gently pushed the wooden door.
There was a significant resistance, but the wooden door was pushed open.
Yang Yi peered inside through the gap he had created; an older person was watching TV in the guard room.
To Yang Yi’s surprise, the apartnt caretaker wasn’t asleep but watching television instead.
Yang Yi gently closed the wooden door, pondered for a mont, and then pushed it open slightly once again.
He gradually opened it wider until it was big enough for a person to slip through sideways.
Bracing the door with his hand, Yang Yi turned and slipped in, then he swiftly but silently closed the door back to its original position before lunging forward, collapsing to the ground, and sliding out ahead.
The caretaker seed to have heard sothing.
He lifted his head to glance at the wooden door, as he was facing the main entrance to the apartnts, allowing him to just look up casually if anything occurred.
Yang Yi lay motionless beneath the window of the guard room.
After glancing over without noticing any anomalies, the caretaker rubbed his eyes and continued to watch his television.
Yang Yi rapidly crawled on the ground, making no sound but moving swiftly, and after getting out of the caretaker’s line of sight, he stood up and headed for the stairs.
The first obstacle was smoothly overco.
Yang Yi ascended to the second floor, walked a few steps in one direction, noticed the door numbers increasing, turned back, and quickly located the room he was seeking.
He paused to listen intently by the door and, hearing nothing, he looked down at the door lock.
The lock was the kind that was very easy to pick.
Yang Yi promptly opened it, then took hold of the doorknob and slowly pushed the door open.
Just as Yang Yi created a small gap, he heard a click from inside.
Yang Yi was taken aback, but he didn’t hesitate and sped up his movents.
Suddenly pushing the door open, Yang Yi flung himself to the floor, and almost at the sa mont, crisps shots rang out in succession.
Bullets grazed over Yang Yi’s head, puncturing the wooden door with holes and shattering the walls on either side with flying bricks and stones.
Soone was sitting on the couch, firing an AK74 at the doorway.
If he had aid slightly lower, he could have hit Yang Yi, who was lying flat on the ground.
But Yang Yi had already drawn his handgun as he fell to the floor.
Yang Yi fired two shots at the person on the couch; the first hit the man’s chest while the second hit the neck.
The gunfire ceased, and then Yang Yi heard a loud commotion coming from the bedroom next to him.
Breaking into a cold sweat, Yang Yi made a beeline for the couch, rolling and crawling to avoid facing directly towards the bedroom door.
When Yang Yi stood up, he glanced at the coffee table, noting the unfinished dishes, an empty vodka bottle, and five sets of knives and forks.
After a cursory glance, Yang Yi quickly approached the bedroom.
The bedroom door opened and a gun barrel extended out first.
Yang Yi grabbed it, then, with his hand raised, he fired at the forehead of a man approaching.
After the shot rang out, the person who had co out of the bedroom fell back, and Yang Yi swiveled the gun barrel towards another ard individual and fired.
Yang Yi hit his target, but did not kill him.
The man who took a bullet in the chest was still holding an AK74 and pulled the trigger.
