388: Chapter 376 Smooth Handover 388: Chapter 376 Smooth Handover Pyschological strength is essential; this is a fundantal quality of a con artist.

Chris had a trick up his sleeve; his thod was to treat everyone he intended to deceive as a fool.

If you think of your target as a fool, naturally, your psychological fortitude improves.

“Hello, I am Agent Ben Harvey from the National Security Agency’s Major Cris Investigation Division.”

Dressed in a suit, Chris produced his credentials, which he flashed before a female police officer without actually handing them over for a thorough inspection.

Instead, she rely glanced at Chris’s ID and t his gaze with a smile, saying, “Hello, Agent Harvey.”

Taking the cue, Chris put his ID away in his pocket, then said solemnly, “I request to see your Superintendent Hart, and if Superintendent Hart isn’t available, I’d be willing to see Mr.

Pence from the Serious and Organized Cri Unit.”

Most positions at Scotland Yard are public.

If one is determined to look, then the nas and positions of these individuals are no secret and can be easily found.

Chris spoke the nas of the individuals he had researched with familiarity and even had a backup ready when the reception officer barely hesitated.

“Superintendent Hart is in his office.

Please wait a mont; I will call him right now.”

Chris nodded and then glanced at his watch.

The policewoman dialed the phone, looked at Chris, and imdiately said once the call was answered, “Sir, there is Agent Ben Harvey from the National Security Agency’s Major Cris Investigation Division who would like to et with you right away.”

“Ben Harvey?

Agent Harvey, very well, ask him to co to my office.”

The policewoman hung up and smiled at Chris, “Agent Harvey, Superintendent Hart is waiting for you in his office on the third floor, to the right of the elevator, in the fourth office.”

“Thank you.”

Chris gave the policewoman a slight bow and then quickly made his way to the elevator.

In the headquarters of the London Police, most were in uniform, and Chris indeed felt a bit nervous among the many officers.

Yet, at least on the surface, Chris didn’t show his nerves; he just seed sowhat in a hurry.

Chris used his sense of urgency to mask his nervousness.

After knocking on Superintendent Hart’s office door, Chris wasn’t quite as nervous.

“Co in.”

Superintendent Hart wasn’t in uniform but was wearing a suit.

As Chris entered, Hart stood from behind his desk with a smile and said, “Hello, Agent Harvey.”

Chris reached out from afar and shook hands with Hart, after which he spoke in a deep voice, “Hello, Mr.

Hart.”

After gesturing Chris to take a seat, Superintendent Hart smiled and said, “We haven’t t before, Mr.

Harvey.

May I inquire as to what brings you to ?”

Chris replied solemnly, “I’m not from Major Cris; I’m with the Counter Espionage Division, on a secret mission by order of Director Gary Keene, requiring your cooperation.”

Superintendent Hart grew serious and then nodded, “Please go ahead.”

“I need to take away two corpses, and for that, I need you to produce and sign a docunt.

Official paperwork from MI5 will be delivered to you later, but it’s very urgent.

I hope you can let take the bodies first and provide the paperwork afterward.”

Without hesitation, Superintendent Hart said gravely, “Two bodies, which two bodies?”

“The case from Hyde Park.”

Inspector Hart exclaid with a sudden realization, “So it was a spy?

Which country’s spy?”

Chris made a troubled expression, and Inspector Hart imdiately laughed and said, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.”

Chris spoke in a low voice, “It is a spy, but I can’t say more than that, I hope you can understand.”

“Understood, understood, that’s quite simple.

I’ll sign the orders for you right away—no, better I make a phone call.

You can take the body away, but please be sure to complete all necessary procedures and docuntation as soon as possible.”

Chris stood up and said, “Thank you, I really appreciate it.

The docunts will be delivered to you promptly, Inspector Hart.

There are so details we’ll need your cooperation with, but those can be finalized through consultation later on.

However, I need today’s event to remain confidential, strictly confidential.

Also, the body must be removed discreetly.

We may need to use so special thods to transport the body, so please inform the morgue staff to avoid any misunderstandings.”

Inspector Hart, with a stern face, said, “Rest assured, there will be no leaks from my end.”

Chris stood up again, “The matter is urgent, so I won’t take up more of your ti.

Thank you for your help, goodbye.”

“Goodbye.

Just go directly to claim the body; I will make the call now.”

Watching Chris leave his office, Inspector Hart raised an eyebrow and muttered to himself, “Hyde Park, definitely a spy, ha, a spy.”

Nobody ever seriously wanted to check Chris’s credentials, which surprised him.

If he had known it would be this easy, he wouldn’t have bothered with all the effort to create false docunts.

The morgue is never in the sa building as Scotland Yard’s HQ.

Chris didn’t know where the morgue was located, but he could ask soone, and the police officer he asked was very enthusiastic in giving him directions to the morgue.

After getting into Hank’s car, Chris told Hank to wait for him in the vehicle, then went to the morgue alone.

A policeman saw Chris and before he could speak, the officer took the initiative to greet him.

“Are you Detective Harvey?”

“I am, hello, officer.”

Still not wanting to check Chris’s ID, the officer said, “I’ve already received a call, please co this way.”

The portly officer led Chris into the morgue and then began to slide out one morgue drawer after another, saying, “I don’t know which two bodies you’re here to take, but all the bodies from the Hyde Park case are here.”

Chris looked at the bodies in the drawers, then pointed to two of them and said, “These two bodies, officer.

I’m here alone, could you please find soone to help carry the bodies to the car?

Is that possible?”

“Oh, of course.”

The officer walked to the entrance of the morgue and then shouted, “Jason, Fatso, bring over two gurneys and grab a couple of body bags, quick.”

Returning to Chris’s side, the officer said, “Please wait a mont, it won’t take long.

The car is just outside, right?”

The staff at the morgue didn’t seem to smile, so Chris also replied seriously, “Yes, the car is right outside.

Thank you very much for your help.”

Soon, with the assistance of two individuals specialized in handling bodies, Mike and Charles’s bodies were moved out of the drawers.

Even though they were already in body bags, frost slowly accumulated on the bags, so the considerate officer added another layer of body bags.

In this manner, Chris didn’t touch Mike and Charles’s bodies, and the two were moved onto the small van that Hank was driving.
