38: Chapter 37 Escape 38: Chapter 37 Escape London’s overall public safety is actually quite good, but so areas are particularly secure while others, where large numbers of immigrants congregate, may not be as safe.

Nevertheless, regardless of the location, it’s almost impossible to see a large group of people brandishing guns.

Yet in front of Yang Yi, everyone was finding a suitable place on their body to conceal a firearm.

A couple of them looked quite agitated, and several seed sowhat excited, but most appeared calm.

Danny was still dressed in a suit, but instead of formal shoes, he wore a pair of leather shoes more suitable for physical activity.

Once everyone was ready, Danny said with an indifferent face, “If it’s possible to resolve the situation without using guns, then try not to use them.

The safety of the decoys is the top priority; protect them at all costs.”

After giving his last instruction, Danny waved his hand and commanded, “Let’s move.”

Yang Yi took a deep breath; he pushed Kate, who sat in a wheelchair, and stood at the restaurant’s main entrance with a tragic sentint.

With a blank expression, Yang Yi carefully peered out from the entrance for a long ti before quickly pushing Kate out of the restaurant’s doors.

The sky had just darkened, and there were many people outside the restaurant.

Yang Yi looked back at the elegant doors of the restaurant with a heart full of sorrow and then quickly pushed Kate into the throng of people.

After waiting at the bus stop for a brief mont with Kate, Yang Yi felt the bus might not be a good choice, so he quickly pushed her towards a taxi stand instead.

During the evening rush hour, there were plenty of taxis, but none were free; two people were already queuing at the taxi stand.

Seeing Kate in the wheelchair, a kind-hearted middle-aged man gave up his spot, asking Yang Yi to go first, but after hesitating, Yang Yi declined the gentleman’s offer and left with Kate again.

Looking at Yang Yi’s wretched deanor, he truly seed as though he’d been driven out.

At least Yang Yi felt his acting was on point, but nothing had happened; no one approached them brandishing a knife, no surprise gunshots rang out.

Following the preplanned route to its end, Yang Yi had to get on a vehicle no matter what.

As if determined, Yang Yi lingered and hesitated on the street for a long ti before finally boarding a bus with Kate, and then they both reached the train station.

The elegant restaurant was not far from Paddington train station; once there, Yang Yi seemingly casually purchased two train tickets to Southampton.

Of course, everything was arranged.

Yang Yi had to reach the train station within a specific ti and board the train to Southampton.

At the train station, Yang Yi was extrely anxious.

He kept telling himself it was fine and to be strong, but he couldn’t stop himself from feeling nervous.

The most terrifying thing was the unknown.

Knowing certainly that a killer would plunge a deadly knife into him but not knowing when it would happen, and any person passing by could potentially be that killer, it was impossible to remain calm.

Fortunately, Yang Yi didn’t have to act very strong.

It was normal to appear scared, so he didn’t feel ashad of his nervousness.

Yang Yi believed that if the killer was indeed going to finish him and Kate off, then the train station would be an excellent choice.

Killing on a train, an enclosed and fast-moving space, is not a good option, as escaping would be difficult.

Hence, the monts before he boarded the train and after he alighted were the most likely tis for the killer to make a move.

That is assuming the Destroyer’s killer had followed them.

Danny had promised to protect him and Kate, but Yang Yi hadn’t seen a single familiar face, and even if Danny did have people secretly following him, they were perhaps too far away to be of any real use.

“Do you think we’ve been deceived?”

Kate finally muttered in a low voice, and Yang Yi was startled for a mont before whispering back, “I’ve had that thought as well, but I believe it’s not the case.”

Kate didn’t speak again, and while Yang Yi looked around cautiously, he eventually managed to push Kate onto the train.

The worried anticipation did not materialize, and in the end, Yang Yi and Kate disembarked from the train safely.

On the train, Yang Yi hadn’t spotted anyone from the Dark Night Knights, and after getting off, he still didn’t see any of their mbers.

If the Dark Night Knights had truly provided an escort, then Yang Yi felt he should have seen at least one or two of them.

But there were none.

Now, Yang Yi’s confidence began to waver.

He started to seriously consider whether Danny was truly using him as bait or had deceived them and tossed them aside without a care.

The forr would be dangerous, but even if it resulted in injury or death, it would still be of so value.

The latter, however, ant that he and Kate were being sent to their deaths with no worth at all.

Despite not wanting to overthink it, Yang Yi did not change the plan he had made.

Kate’s wound began to bleed again.

Although she made no movent, prolonged travel could be exhausting even for a healthy person, let alone soone who had surgery the day before.

Yang Yi quickly checked Kate’s injury and, as a matter of course, he had to take her to the hospital.

He hailed a taxi, asked the driver, and then they were taken to a private hospital not too far from the train station.

In the United Kingdom, where one can wait for a long ti for assistance in public hospitals with poor dical quality, private hospitals or clinics with excellent dical skills and service—but also heartbreakingly high prices—are a better choice, provided you have enough money.

Yang Yi took Kate to a private clinic, but because he didn’t have an appointnt and the clinic’s doctor had finished for the day, they faced the choice of either going to a public hospital or finding another clinic.

So Yang Yi took Kate to another clinic instead of a hospital, since Kate’s injury was a gunshot wound that any experienced doctor could recognize at a glance.

To avoid trouble, it was a common choice to seek out small clinics.

Yang Yi’s decision was filled with helplessness.

Everything seed so normal.

That is until Yang Yi pushed Kate into a very small private clinic.

As the door opened, a nurse in white greeted them very politely but her words were icy cold, “I’m sorry, we are closed.

If this lady’s condition is urgent, I can help you call an ambulance to another hospital.

If it’s not urgent, I suggest you co back tomorrow.”

A look of despair crossed Yang Yi’s face as he said tremulously, “Is the doctor here?

Could you please save my friend?

I’m willing to pay a lot of money, just to have her wound treated.

I can pay three tis the normal price!”

The nurse hesitated, speaking in a low voice, “Doctor Jas hasn’t left yet, but he’s just finished surgery and must be very tired, so I’m not sure if he will be willing…”

Yang Yi said desperately, “Five tis!

I’ll pay five tis the normal fee.”

After hesitating again, the nurse nodded and said softly, “I can go and ask the doctor for you, please wait a mont.”
