171: Chapter 170: Black on Black 171: Chapter 170: Black on Black Yang Yi stood at an intersection, a bustling intersection with cars coming and going.

Another car stopped near Yang Yi, and then without the driver getting out, they simply opened the car boot, and Hank climbed out from it.

In broad daylight, under the public gaze, several people erged from the car’s boot, but it seed no one found this thod of exit strange; not a single person gave them a second glance.

Once Rodriguez also got out of the car, the vehicles that relayed them into Tijuana imdiately drove off, without leaving behind any superfluous words.

Yang Yi truly felt bewildered and then he looked towards the people beside him, saying, “Now we need to find a hospital for Rodriguez, and also find a place to stay.”

Brian imdiately shouted to a woman walking her dog by the roadside in Spanish, “Hello, ma’am, where is the nearest hospital?”

The dog-walking woman pointed in a direction and said, “After two street corners, turn right and there’s a hospital.”

Brian turned and said, “The hospital is nearby, let’s get him to the hospital first, then we can find a hotel to rest.”

Yang Yi wanted to ask, are we really just going to the hospital like this, just finding a hotel like this?

Seeing Brian’s face as if it was only natural, Yang Yi didn’t want to ask directly, as it would expose his ignorance about many things, but he didn’t want to appear ignorant in front of his subordinates.

Pulling Brian to one side, Yang Yi whispered, “Are we really just going to the hospital?

Going to find a hotel?

Won’t it attract the police?”

Brian looked around, also showing a puzzled expression, and said, “Has xico changed from before?

Are the xican police now ddling in many things?”

With a puzzled counter-question to Yang Yi, Brian turned and shouted to Chris, “Hey, you guys, have the xican police beco nosy?”

Hank shook his head and said, “No way, no, it’s still the world of drug traffickers in xico.”

Chris also nodded and said, “I’ve been to Tijuana before, the police here are great.”

Brian took a deep breath and said, “That’s a relief, I thought the Tijuana police had started to interfere in things.

Let’s go then, don’t waste ti.”

With a wave of his hand, Chris and Hank began to walk, supporting Rodriguez, who by now could not stand at all and indeed needed to be taken to the hospital.

Yang Yi felt anxious and uneasy, fearing an encounter with the police, but to his surprise, although they did co across a police car on the road, it didn’t stop to question their strange group at all.

There was even more surprising news to co; when Rodriguez was taken to the hospital, there were absolutely no questions asked about the wound on his abdon, only arrangents for a surgeon to treat him, and Chris’s arm wound was also treated, but no one inquired as to how he got the knife wound.

Yang Yi had four hundred US Dollars in cash in his wallet, and his card held a deposit of more than two thousand five hundred British Pounds, which was all his property now.

It cost two thousand two hundred US Dollars for Rodriguez’s wound treatnt and hospital stay, and that was just for two days’ worth of hospital fees, which ant by the third day, Rodriguez couldn’t stay in the hospital for treatnt anymore, because they would be out of money.

After getting Rodriguez settled, Yang Yi and the others started looking for a hotel nearby and soon found a tiny one.

No one asked Yang Yi for any form of ID or a passport for that matter.

If you wanted to stay at a hotel, you just did, as long as you paid.

This place really was a criminal’s paradise.

After sorting out their accommodation, Yang Yi didn’t rush to rest.

He gathered everyone together and cut straight to the point, “Guys, up until now, I’ve been footing the bill.

The prison break and getting us here cost a million US dollars.

Now, I’m out of money, so I want to ask if any of you have any.”

Even being a henchman ant contributing.

In a low voice, Hank said, “I have money, and I have art stashed away that I can sell for cash, but I don’t have a bank account.

I’d have to go to the United States to get my money.”

Chris hung his head and said, “I’m broke.

They kicked out with nothing when I went to prison.

I don’t have a penny to my na.”

Gweil said, “I have money!

When I was imprisoned, I still had a house and so bank savings.”

“How much do you have in the bank?”

“About four thousand US dollars, I guess.”

Gweil answered quickly but then added, “Though I don’t know if I still have that after going to jail.”

Yang Yi waved his hand in frustration, “What can we do with four thousand dollars?

Forget it, let’s just pretend you never said that.”

Sighing deeply, Yang Yi said in a low voice, “Now we need to get so money.

Guys, without money, we can’t go anywhere or do anything.”

Hank imdiately said, “We could steal; there’s plenty of rich folks in Tijuana!”

Carefully, Chris said, “We could con so money.

Just cooperate with , and we can scam it fast.

I’m confident about it.

Give a week, I’ll find a wealthy mark, and we can scam at least a hundred grand!”

Gweil hesitated for a mont, then in a lower voice said, “Have you guys seen Breaking Bad?

Breaking Bad is fiction, but I’m the real deal.

Just get the materials, and I can make the best stuff.

This is xico, and selling top-notch goods to the xican cartels ans money.”

Yang Yi said irritably, “Stop, I didn’t go through hell to break you guys out just to commit cris—ugh, what we’re doing is illegal, but not these kinds of illegal activities, that’s just degenerate!

Theft, fraud, drugs—it’s not happening!”

Yang Yi wanted to be a spy, and while certainly unlawful, selling intelligence wasn’t exactly descending to a life dependent on cri, was it?

How had they gotten to this point?

Just then, Brian suddenly said, “Why make it so complicated?

We’ll just rob, we’ll have money today.”

Yang Yi was on the verge of a breakdown and he gave a wry smile, “Guys, do we really have to do this?”

Brian remained nonchalant, “Rob drug dealers.

It won’t weigh on our conscience, and it solves our financial crisis.

Key point — drug dealers have money.

Although the risk factor is a bit high, I don’t care.”

After pondering for a mont, Yang Yi realized it might actually be a good idea.

Robbing drug dealers, even if it ant killing a few, could be seen as divine retribution, right?

It was absolutely unacceptable to target ordinary people, but preying on drug dealers in a classic case of dog eat dog didn’t seem so unacceptable.
